  1. Our CF for next year could be Cameron. I highly doubt it though.
  2. That still doesn't explain why May was so bad or July when he had time off for the All-Star break. I am not saying that there was no effect on Kendall as the year went on just that we can't break things down by months or halves of the season and draw a decent cause/effect conclusion from them.
  3. If he didn't have a hot first week of the season, his April numbers would also look pretty poor. I know what the numbers show, but they don't prove anything. Tiredness doesn't explain his May numbers. If he didn't suck at hitting May, his numbers would have been better.
  4. No it really doesn't. He was up and down all year. He just happened to have 2 bad months out of 3 at the end instead of the start. When you break things down into half years and months a few good games can cause wild swings in the numbers. I do agree that Kendall played in way to many games. His OPS by month .764 .600 .782 .492 .701 .593 I think Hall will have much better numbers, but it will be because he isn't hitting against righties and will have little or nothing to do with Lasik surgery.
  5. I see Bell's Brewery showing up quite a bit on people's posts lately. I know they have a summer wheat Oberon Ale which is pretty good. If you like Stouts, my wife loved their Kalamazoo Stout.
  6. I really don't care who they get at this point. They need a 6th starter because the 5 guys we have now are not going to make it through the season.
  7. A split at home sucks. If you want to win the WCHA you need better than splits at home.
  8. Tom Haudricourt has been very good with reporting weekly on the Brewers in the off season, but to label people as bandwagon fans when they think Haudricourt has had shoddy reporting is just wrong. I agree with the posters who think his coverage of the minors is pretty bad. I would prefer somebody who cover the minor leaguers on a regular basis to put rankings with them. I mean even I could have done a pathetic write up on the minor leagues like he did and I have never even seen them play.
  9. Well he wouldn't be the first public figure that didn't much care for being in the public eye.. All these stories remind me of this picture. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/2005/04/11/iedkQELw.jpg
  10. They end at a reasonable hour on the west coast. I am not sure they can start much earlier without alienating much of the west coast. Maybe start earlier and play them on a tape delay on the west coast. Maybe play them earlier and everybody on the west coast can go out and buy DVR's.
  11. No he hasn't started posting in the comments section of his blog again. I wish he at least knew how free agent draft pick compensation worked. I think he finally figured out that we get a 2nd rounder for CC. I know the rules are not really out there and accessible to everybody(they are, but you have to dig), but stuff like that is something I would expect somebody who is employed to cover an MLB to know.
  12. If you really want to annoy her, I think you would put in deep shag carpeting around the urinal.
  13. To be fair, there is a pretty good team in Milwaukee for him to cover now.
  14. Gross profit vs Net profit maybe?
  15. To be fair I'd probably just quit my job if I had to deal with the fanbase that posts on that blog on a regular basis. That's the thing though, he doesn't have to deal with the posts on the blog. All he has to do is post his blog and then ignore the comments section. Now if we are talking about the weekly questions, those are all over the place. Some are just repetitive or unintelligent. I can understand getting testy about some of those questions. I don't see why he needs to answer questions about his intelligence or anybody who makes a personal attack against him. Giving stuff like that any response other than DELETE is just dumb. Even when there are intelligent questions he doesn't even put bare minimum effort into answering them much of the time. He offers no insight when answering. I think many posters on this board could answer the questions just as well. He, and other reporters, talk about being on the inside, but we seem to get very little inside information. Obviously there is lots of stuff we don't need to know, but it would be nice to get something truly insightful once in a while.
  16. Weeks also signed an MLB contract after he was drafted. Which meant he had to be put on the 40-man roster right away.
  17. We got 2 picks for Sabathia. I think the CC supplemental pick will be higher than the Shouse supplemental pick. Link
  18. He got 80% of his 2007 salary in 2008 I believe.
  19. With all this beer being given out, I am thinking it might have been cheaper just to pay for the photographer.
  20. Maybe this doesn't need it's own thread, but it didn't fit anywhere else. I really appreciate his blogs since it is pretty regular Brewers news in a slow time of the year. I really get annoyed with the inaccuracies he continues to post. His latest, while minor is just another on a long list of simple facts that I would expect somebody reporting on a specific MLB team to know. Link Weeks, in his second year of eligibility, filed for $2.8 million after making $1.056 million last year. The Brewers submitted a figure of $2 million By my count, Weeks is in his first year of arbitration. EDIT: Seemed like this became more of a Weeks' arby status thread; thus the generic title "Tom Haudricourt's inaccuracies" was changed -- we've had enough of those threads in the past, some justified, some being overly picky (guilty as charged here -- Mass)....
  21. I see the voting appears to end tonight at 11:59 CST.
  22. I did it at 350 for around 1 hour 45 min. I checked the temp of the chicken before pulling it out of the oven.
  23. Even if the tickets are 100% profit, I think it is just wrong to assume that they don't count on that income to cover at least some of the player salaries. The TV and radio contracts are fixed income, but there is lots of money in naming rights, ticket sales and corporate sponsorships that could easily dry up in the next couple years. The money for the big guys is still out there. It just looks like owners/GMs are finally realizing that big contracts for mediocre/flawed players is a bad investment.
  24. That would be awesome. Maybe we could even get one guy that knows a lot about baseball to write stories for the Brewers.
  25. Cashman refutes claim that they can only sign 3 type A/B free agents.
