  1. I would rather use $40 to take the family to a Timber Rattlers game. Now if they were to give free tickets with the license plate every year, I would reconsider.
  2. There's no sense compounding the mistake they made giving him all that money by letting him pitch a bunch of actual innings when somebody else could do a significantly better job. True, but who is sure to be "significantly better."
  3. He's probably the 4th or 5th best pitcher (SP or RP) in the organization. Yeah, but we are paying Suppan to much to move him out of the rotation.
  4. $40 extra per year, no thanks.
  5. I don't see why people think that we should be counting on Capuano for anything other than a relief roll. He had major arm surgery and I doubt he is ready for a heavy starter workload anytime this year.
  6. He is also has a career .371 OBP. I think Kendall reaching his career numbers are unrealistic at this point. More realistic is his 2006-2008 split or a little better which he almost reached in 2008. Career .293/.371/.388/.759 2006-2008 .263/.334/.326/.660 I took it as Macha saying that he values Kendall quite a bit, and doesn't want to wear him down early in the season. So he may still catch 140+ games this year, but mostly at the end.
  7. The year Kendall caught 143 games started out with the backup catcher catching one guy in the rotation until that guy complained and Kendall ended up catching almost every day. The manager that year, Macha.
  8. You have the sweetest voice I've ever heard, too bad your breath smells like a turd.
  9. I think you can do the same thing for players, but not each individual at a time. You have to go to the batting stats and do it for every player in the league then use the upper right hand corner to choose a date. Link I am sure that is a bit more cumbersome than you are looking for though.
  10. 1. your best pitcher should have the best opportunity to pitch as many games as possible during the year Every starter will get the same number of starts unless they get their turn in the rotation skipped or they get injured. 2 i'd like to see our best pitcher against the best team in the division. We will face every team in our division enough times that it will probably even out over the course of the year.
  11. Good luck to Luis. I admit I didn't know much about him except he had a big arm. I was shocked he was taken off instead of some other players. I would be relieved if I was Luis as well if I went to a team that improved my chances of being on an MLB roster sooner.
  12. Foul territory has a big impact as well. Smaller foul territory puts more foul balls in the seats and thus more opportunities for the hitter to put the ball in the outfield seats.
  13. Being the #1 starter only matters for the first game of the year. The only other thing that matters is who is the 5th starter because they are the one to get skipped. Like Macha says, things get all jumbled up after a few weeks.
  14. Other than his hot start the first 2 weeks of the season, Kendall was pretty much the same pre and post All-Star break. I still see no evidence that Kendall was any more tired at the end of the season than any other player. I think that he played to many games. I don't think that getting him more rest is going to allow us to get much more production out of him. Kendall is a weak hitter and blaming his playing time for his poor hitting is ignoring that fact.
  15. It almost seems like if you want the best Brewers coverage you have to move out of state.
  16. There is a whole thread on beer. Use the "beer" search tag to find it.
  17. As long as he doesn't pair up Rivera with the 5th starter and skip his starts whenever he can this should be an improvement. I would prefer to see Kendall rested even more, say every day after night game or twice a week. It's a start.
  18. I prefer a little homerism in my announcers as well. Luckily I rarely listen to the Brewers on the radio. I have a very hard time with hiring a die hard fan of our rival and putting his voice on the radio.
  19. I didn't like Assassin's Creed either. I quit after a couple hours.
  20. Welcome to the site. Zambrano can hit, but so can Gallardo.
  21. Works fine in Firefox for me. Must be something else.
  22. It only takes one idiot that believes nobody should go in on the first ballot, forgets who is eligible, forgets to fill out their ballot, or doens't fill out their ballot in some form of protest.
  23. A year of service time is highly valuable to a team that needs to keep a relativity low salary year to year. Gamel might be at least as ready as Weeks was and I think Weeks was brought up to early. Gamel is unlikely to be much more productive than a platoon of other players at 3B. If we are in the race we can always bring him up if he is crushing AAA pitching and isn't a complete butcher in the field.
  24. Even if Gamel would be slightly better than what we could get out of a platoon, is it really worth using a year of service time for the minimal gain?
