  1. those numbers represent the total number of ab's he had per level, not the actual seasons he spent there... 279 .367 .428 .795 Jj's actual number's from 2003... which were very comparable to the numbers that won corey hart an MVP award and JJ would have certainly put up huge numbers at High Desert just like everyone else if he hadn't been bumped up so quickly
  2. If you are mad at someone, send them an email...or something...it doesn't have to be dealt with on the boards...we aren't nanny's
  3. you can't judge a person's heart by how they play.. maybe ben grieve let balls fall in front of hm because he sucked in the outfield In atlanta, there are a lot of people who hate andruw jones because he is "lazy"...well who the heck are you to say that??? you don't know andruw, you don't know anything about him...all you know is what you've seen that's obscene Sure, heart probably plays in somewhere...but i think 99% of guys in the mlb are doing everything in their worldly power to stay major league ball players...to say that they don't have heart is ridiculous and btw, the brewers lose games and are under .500 because the other teams have better ball players than them
  4. sounds great, get crackin'
  5. I think you really are getting into unecessary censorship if we are going to start warning or editing posts based on the presumed "tone" of the message.. Some people are condescending, some peaople are jerks...pretty much so long as they aren't directly insulting you, cussing or being incessantly repetetive, i don't think anything should be done..
  6. man..someone here complains about absolutely everything that yost does...
  7. no i believe you...the source i'm referring to is Dennis sarfate's dad and he posts here semi-regularly
  8. it is worth noting: The thread was locked initially, it was not deleted until about an hour later... You can ALWAYS start a new thread voicing the ideas you were trying to get through...maybe there was a screup in looking your thread..maybe not...but sometimes youve got to move on and just start over... i know you were pissed last night, but once you reposted your thoughts there was conversation...so i don't really see where the problem is...i mean weve been over all of this and things seem like they are back to normal... I know you were upset...but how were you really censored...it seems to me you were more inconveinieced than anything...
  9. i honestly think that dennis francis would have told us by now if that were the case....
  10. i'm with you...i think harts a better prospect than capellan...which means that he should be on that list.. however, i think once a guy gets on lists like that, it takes a lot more than mediocrity to get them off..
  11. some people are upset: lets hammer out whatever is bothering you guys here...go for it, and maybe we'll get some good opinions form all around
  12. the brewers actually don't have anyone that is major league capable readyto play cf except brady clark...this is a real problem...but it isn't ned's fault, and it isn't magruder's fault... the brewers back up plans just haven't worked out this year...i'm sure doug took the loss tonight just as hard as we did..
  13. prince just went 8 for his last 10,with six consecutive hits in a row...plus several walks...dang
  14. prince goes yard...is he gonna finish the year with 30+ hr's and a .300 avg?
  15. So it's hard to compare a high school outfield with a major league one. Yup...i'm well aware of that...and basically, everyone here is only talking with high school experience...so maybe we should throw personal experience out the window???
  16. I played Cf my first two years of JV (8th and 9th) and Rf/Dh for the varsity team... CF was much harder...in fact, my suckiness in CF is what led to me be made the right fielder (my suckiness in RF led to the dh part...) I was the fastes sprinter at my school...but cf eluded me...
  17. Richie sexson made a heckuva turn around...he walked 98 times in 2003! and is on pace for 85 or so this year.. edit: didn't realize someone else had already noticed this
  18. I'm sure David Weiser can give you a write up mass.. I really think Corey hart can play cf...he runs fast, so he can cover the gaps decently...and jenkins is no slouch in right...so if carlos lee is traded and nelson cruz is the left fielder, i think they would be in the neighborhood of average defensively...and frickin' exciting
  19. I was thinking about this... and i wonder if some of the Power's infield throwing problems have anything to do with grant richardson??? I'm not trying to blame grant, but if he was sexson-esque, perhaps he could prevent some errors... for example, Josh Murray's first throwing error wasn't too far off the bag, but richardson kind alost hi balance and had to pull off to make the play...no doubt, it was a bad throw by murray...but a better defenseive 1b might have made the play (for the record, murray's second error was knoblauch-esque) this is no knock on Grant, as i think he's a pretty good prospect...but it makes me wonder..
  20. they said last night that branyan is having a bout with tendinitis that prevents him from starting more than a couple times a week
  21. i don't really know...field conditions??? youth??? I mean, billy hall looks pretty smooth at times as well..
  22. he may not have been scored one, but Angel definitely had a past ball in that game...It was a ball he should have caught that squirted away...actually the Hoppers scored a run...Angel also looked a bit lost at the plate...he was hacking at low pitches the whole game... Praise: Ryan Braun is the best non-MLB hitter i've ever seen...I'd say he's at least as good of a natural hitter as Mark Teixiera was when i saw him at Georgia Tech...Braun is a fantastic hitter... Hernan Iribarren hits the ball very hard and runs well...He was safe when they picked him off at third, but the umpire called him out anyway...herna is also very slick with the glove.. The same goes for Alcides...i know the plate discipline sucks, but he hits it very hard, and he's incredibly skinny...if he caould gain 20 pounds before his 21st birthday with the natural ability he has, he could have a decent career...his defense was very smooth and natural Josh Murray has a good glove at 3rd...but the two throwing errors shed some light on his throwing...erratic at best... Eric Thomas: I didn't get to see him throw, but i did talk to him for about 5 minutes today(he was in the stands)...It's interesting to note: 1. they've got him limited to 40 pitches an outing right now so that he can build up strength to be a full time starter again next year.. 2. He is extremely excited to be playing again 3. The brewers doctors made him wait 6 months to have the TJ surgery...he counted it as wasted time.. He said he's feeling good now, and finally ready to start his career Mark Rogers...spoke with him for about a minute and asked about his blister problem..he showed it mo me..at this point, it just looks like a callus the size of his knuckle...he said it was pretty much better and that he would be ready to go for his next start (they skipped him this week) Charlie Fermaint..Is a very good hitter and a quick runner...he looked pretty good in CF...at least alot better than Hasan and Katin looked in the corners...I'd say Charlie will climb the ladder pretty fast...that said, his homer today was not a bomb... As for the pitching side of things, Justin Barnes and Derek Miller were both impressive...and josh wahpepah was not..though when i told him i thought he was having a good season he said "yea, thanks, except for the other night" and kinda shook his head... Man...I wish all of you guys could get to see this team play...they are just loaded with talent..They will be spread between AA. A+, and low A next year, but man, that's a heckuva group for the moment in WV
  23. dive and miss and maybe it's 6 -4 now...
  24. Just got home from the Power game...acouple of notes: Rasheed looked pretty brutal in LF...he ran right past 2 balls, though i think he didn't get an error on either one... Alcides badly missplayed a hit in the bottom of the 4th...he probably could've gotten the guy...maybe not.. Hernan's hr was only about 370 feet...but that guy is good...made a great diving stop later in the game... I don't see this "hitch" in Braun's swing that everyone was talking about...the closest thing i noticed was that he turns his wrists over late...but i think that's probably where alot of his power comes from...anyway, his hr was waaaaay gone...i would say he's got a good eye, even without the walks...he just crushes almost every good pitch he sees...His K was two low and away questionable strikes followed by a huge swing at a ball that was in the strike zone...other than that, he just killed the ball Klosterman is throwing beach balls up there...he walked the first two guys he saw..and everyone else hit it very hard...if the speed gun in Greensboro is to be believed, he only throws in the mid 80's... Justin barnes looked impressive again...stancyzk did not...but both throw pretty hard very entertaining game...i'm excited about tommorrow..
  25. looking pretty much like it's about to rain alot in greensboro...i'll be at the game if it doesn't
