  1. Talk about adding insult to injury to insult. Or something like that.
  2. It really is. Here's to the Rockies extending their winning streak four more games.
  3. Of course I had to try it to see what our stats looked like since the ASG. Let me say, some of those avgs are pretty impressive. I didn't realize it was that bad.
  4. A small get to know Ryan Braun article from TSN
  5. Any thoughts on who you think they might go after? I'm sure they're bummed that the Muscle got picked up today.
  6. While you don't want to wish injury upon anyone...I don't see anything wrong with wishing it upon a Cub so long as it's not serious as in season/career ending or family injury, etc. We pretty much need to take what we can get. If Aramis does get a stint on the DL, we need to find a way to be atleast four games ahead by the time him and Soriano are back.
  7. Don't you realize how much work it would be to mark every single ticket. Jeez.
  8. Over .500, I'm very happy. Winning the wild card or division, I'm thrilled. Finishing under .500, I'm disappointed.
  9. We didn't give up the lead after getting up 5-0, 6-0, or 3-0 today. We just never had the lead and in the process gave up 19 runs.
  10. First off, I think that was well-said Brian. My only thought on the issue is that from every post I read from him, it felt to me like he was out looking for a reason to argue or defend himself when no one had really said anything to him about it. Having ran a website once before, I think you handled the situation well and were completely within rights to ask him to change the avatar, as the forum rules clearly state no religion or politics. Whether or not the guy felt "Jewboys" was appropriate or not shouldn't have mattered because it offended other people.
  11. Those sneaky FSNers...I thought Ann Carroll was done for.
  12. Here's my question, if Yo continues to pitch the way he has, even if he hits his innings limit near mid-September, how can you justify leaving him off the playoff roster and potentially having a rotation of any combination of Sheets, Capuano and Suppan...Bush and Vargas interchangeable. I know we don't want to ruin the kid's arm, but I think it would be absolutely foolish, if we claim a playoff spot, and if the majority of our rotation continues to be as sporadic as it's been, if we don't take Yo to the playoffs as one of our guys in the playoff rotation.
  13. I would imagine that Byrnes and his agent were done talking until the offseason... until the D'backs management was spending Monday night barhopping and came up with 3yr/30m.
  14. I realized JJ had dropped off significantly since about early June... but man... .227 in the last month or so since the ASG. Wow. Those are Weeks-like numbers. Lucky JJ had that hot start or we could be looking at a Counsellino middle IF.
  15. I agree with AJAY on the fact that JJ hits alot of balls really hard, just directly to fielders. I don't have stats, but it seemed to be alot of the same thing last year before he got injured. Good contact with the ball just hit right at the fielders. I don't know what can be done about it, but until he starts to "go with the pitch" a bit more, he's not going to be getting that average anywhere near where it was early this year when he was smacking those hip high inside fastballs. The good news is we have another guy who doesn't seem to care where the pitch is, he'll hit it and get on base.
  16. I'll take the old 1st inning mulligan.
  17. My suggestions is just to do away with all "special" bobblheads and just produce one. Not a terrible idea. Easier for people who aren't that into it and don't want to spend that much money getting them all to get the whole set. Or, they could always front the promotions as Trent Durrington, Chris Magruder or Joe Winklesas bobblehead night and then have the real ones instead. I'm guessing that would cut the excess crowds who are looking to do it purely for profit out of the picture.
  18. I'd vote for the navy alternate also, it looks sharp, plus you'll match the Crew more times than not than you would with the retro.
  19. Sorry, didn't check that right away since I didn't see where it was on Yuku. Found it now though and sent you a message. Thanks.
  20. If anyone still has an extra they're willing to trade for a Hall, let me know, hopefully I didn't miss the boat.
  21. The thing that makes me nervous would be that after this homestand we have six more road games than home games to end the year. Quite frankly, with our play on the road, those games could be the difference between winning the division and losing it.
  22. Thanks, I won't be home until Tuesday so just let me know.
  23. This is the first time since this yuku switchover that I've been able to get on the boards without it being slow as molasses, so there's nothing I would say that hasn't been covered yet...but I did enjoy this...
