  1. Even though Trevor was only here in Milwaukee two years it would still be kind of cool to see him go to the HOF. Obviously he goes in as a Padre, but we don't have many guys who spent any time with the Brewers in the Hall.
  2. Yeah, ditto that. Outside of a few very select games where I am both tailgating and the one driving the group to the tailgate, I have not parked in the lots for years. Even though a lot more people do it now than ten years ago, I still take one of the free Bluemound shuttles in park on the streets running off of Bluemound. Some but not all usually require you to purchase something there, so we will grab dinner or the occasional beer before heading in.
  3. That part that floors me is that SD traded all of that for one year of Upton. It's not liked they have him locked up for the next five seasons. Are they really expecting to win that division this year and beat out the Giants and Dodgers?
  4. I have posted several times on this board about how cool it would be to have a Brewers HOF and Museum (as opposed to something like the Wall of Honor especially). While I certainly get why Bud would merit getting some sort of attention in Milwaukee for his contributions to this franchise and baseball in general, I simply do not understand how honoring one man comes ahead of honoring the franchise as a whole. We literally have an exhibit on a different franchise (the Braves) in our stadium without having anything really dedicated to the history of the Brewers.
  5. I know that this post is almost a month too late, but I noticed on baseballreference.com recently that Ray Sadecki died back at the end of November. Ray pitched for the Brewers in 36 games in 1976 before being released but overall played 18 years in the bigs. RIP Ray. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/11933194/ray-sadecki-former-major-league-pitcher-dies-73
  6. Well I agree with the previous sentiments. And though I know I will likely take heat for this, I also think that all types of between innings entertainment should go.... including the sausage race.
  7. I am taking back any inadvertent claps I may have sent in Mr. Reynold's direction last season.
  8. Count me as really hoping that Rickie doesn't sign with StL. After all of these years with him on our team and the memory of him playing on two Brewers teams that made the postseason, I would be really down to see him end up there of all places in MLB.

  10. The report today of DM not even bothering to meet with ANY teams or agents is the major concern for me. This team is kind of bland and could be fairly decent or fairly bad imho. Either way, the general manager should be looking at absolutely every possibility to see if there are ways to improve this team. The Giants have won three World Series out of the last five but they are at least connected with making trades or signing guys to improve their team. Even if the front office isn't ready for the massive reboot that I would prefer, and even if they think that the team can contend next season, to simply say that we are all set to the point of not even bothering to explore what options might be available is absolutely inexcusable. This is a team that was fairly putrid in 2013 and had one outstanding month in 2014. How this makes the roster untouchable or leaves us with so much talent that we don't even need to look into the possibility of upgrading our roster or prospects portfolio is unreal.
  11. Just for the sake of shaking things up a bit there are times I wish that DM would follow suit. I agree that at least two of these trades don't make much sense on the surface, but I do think there is something about our franchise under DM that massively overrates the importance of apparent roster stability. When I see the flat team that played for us last September it makes me want to make trades just for the sake of making trades.
  12. I believe I read somewhere that Molitor was really pushing Torii hard to return to MIN. Apparently he foresees Hunter's role as a mentor to be somewhat similar to the role that Molly himself provided to him as a young player.
  13. Hire and re-fire Stan Kyles!
  14. Doesn't it seem like the Rays are really taking quite awhile to name a new manager?
  15. So don't we still need to name someone to replace Guerrero as a roving coach for next season?
  16. Agreed. Duke is not the kind of guy you pay full retail for. One of Melvin's best attributes is patience in the reliever market. I am confident he'll find a nugget or two on sale. And hopefully one of those nuggets is a lefty.
  17. Unless StL thinks that Miller's prospects coming back from injury are not as good as perceived.
  18. I believe that Justin Upton also has a no trade clause with Milwaukee listed as one of four teams that he cannot be dealt to.
  19. As others have said, what a shame and a waste. A completely avoidable tragedy that will change countless lives because of one night's bad decisions. Though I know it is easy to armchair quarterback, I just will never understand how a guy like this (or anyone for that matter) cannot pick up his phone and call a cab or a friend to come pick him up if feels the need to drink himself to oblivion.
  20. Is Hank the Dog still something the team hopes to trot out and celebrate in 2015?
  21. On that note, is Mark Loretta coaching anywhere? Without looking it up, I believe that Loretta is doing something in the Padres front office but doesn't have an on-field role.
  22. Yeah, not impressed with Salvador Perez this post-season. Overall though, great Series and I hope that baseball in KC is rejuvenated for a long, long time.
  23. I think it's a bit weird that Peavy is talking about going to a different team the night that he was starting for the Giants in the WS.
  24. No matter who is playing, I always want to extend the season and get the World Series to 7 games. Let's hope for a KC turnaround win on Tuesday night.
  25. Probably one of the last things that I expected to read when I woke up this AM.
