  1. BTW. Looking at ARam on BREF: Did you know Pittsburgh signed him as a Free Agent out of Cuba at the age of 16? and he Debuted at 19? What a find by whoever scouted him huh? Not to nitpick, but I think it was out of the DR.
  2. Good stories. I am also too young to remember '82 having not even turned one yet. From what I can tell it must have been a pretty magical time to be a Brewers fan. I would really be interested in hearing from people old enough to remember both '82 and '11 to see what year brings back better memories for you. Obviously in '82 the team got to the WS, but since that '11 team is the first in my lifetime that I thought had a legitimate chance to win it all it seems like a pretty interesting comparison.
  3. It's not his MLB debut; just with TB.
  4. The Brewers have really increased my overall pessimism level so far this year. Let's hope that they can somehow manage to turn it around against my least favorite team in professional sports.
  5. I will be ordering this card off of Ebay this evening. I cannot believe that the one and only Joe Winkelsas was able to get a card of himself in a Brewers uniform. That is awesome.
  6. As much as I get the anti-Yuni thing, it's not his fault this year. I know he's returned to career norms this last week or so, but he is not to blame for this team's record.
  7. Yeah, I consider myself to be an optimistic person by nature. But this, this is getting to be ridiculous. If anyone wants to talk me off the brewers ledge I'd appreciate it. Losing this much, this early, to teams within the division is doing nothing for my confidence.
  8. I know we have lost quite a few games here, but wow, this in-game-thread is empty.
  9. Listening to the broadcast and Uke's quote: "something must have gotten into the concessions here." lol.
  10. Can someone who's watching on tv relay what happened with Segura on that last force out at second? Why wasn't he able to get the throw off to first?
  11. I don't know but I doubt he hurt himself. Seems like RR has subbed out for him late in games a lot this last week and a half since he's come back from his injury.
  12. And I hope my pessimism is just a knee jerk emotional reaction..... but I don't think so.
  13. This is obviously not a good sign. You have to wonder if there was an injury that he suffered at some point this offseason which he didn't disclose and which led him to come into camp with a "dead arm"
  14. Adam McCalvy did a piece on this today as well.
  15. My money's on the religion reference.
  16. I've decided to turn off the tv and just listen to the game on the radio in the hope that uke says a few entertaining things. What a crappy series.
  17. I love the idea of Joe Winkelsas being compared to anyone else in all of baseball.
  18. Perhaps the Mark Kotsay type player that we end up getting will be Mark Kotsay. I am sure that all of bf.net would love to see him reunited with Yuni to form our bench for the remainder of the year.
  19. Just a quick post to acknowledge the death of former Brewers pitcher Brad Lesley who died yesterday. Lesley pitched in five games for the Crew in 1985 and went on to have a career as an actor as well. RIP.
