  1. I'm definitely happy for Almonte. Not sure if we have enough offense in the tank to take the game tonight, but at least that's a nice story.
  2. On an unrelated note, the official scorer is represented by Scott Boras too.Haha, awesome.
  3. Three walks in the first to go along with the dinger. Looks like we are going to need our bullpen to be ready again. Thanks to the Reds for running into an out on the SB attempt.
  4. Something has got to be wrong with Marcum. This level of frustration is weird this early in the game.
  5. I know that they will be selling media guides at Miller Park after the season starts, but does anyone know where I might be able to find one ahead of time? It would be nice to avoid paying stadium prices for it. Thanks in advance.
  6. I think that Prospectus is likely the best, but I still buy Athlon's every year. I'm not sure if it's actually better than the others, but I remember getting my first one as a kid in the late 80's with Higuera on the cover. Probably more of a spring tradition at this point than anything else.
  7. Bienvenue Alex. J'espere ton voyage a Milwaukee est tres agreable. My French is a bit rusty.

    SABR

Thanks for the post jschris. That really is a great story. How are the publications that come with membership?
  9. Just echoing the congratulations to Trevor. He seems like a class-act and has been pointed out a number of times was considered to be an outstanding teammate. I think that level of respect speaks volumes about a player.
  10. I have to think that with each passing day he is more and more likely to accept a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. I haven't really heard of him being linked with any potential suitors at this point, though I might have missed it. In any event, I certainly think it's worth exploring as I think he could drastically upgrade our bench or step in as needed if Gomez continues his struggles from last season.

    SABR

I couldn't find this posted earlier on the site, but perhaps I missed it. In any event I am considering joining SABR and was wondering if anyone on the boards has an opinion on the group. It seems like a really interesting group to join and I am looking forward to reading the publications which come with a membership. I am under 30 so the membership is $45. Does anyone here currently subscribe, and is it worth it? Thanks in advance.
  12. Has anyone heard what kind of updates might be on the MLB2k11 version? I just got a Wii for Christmas as well, and am probably most excited about getting this game. I think that the release date last year was March, but that's about all I know on it right now.
  13. Congratulations Davego. I want to be you in two years.
  14. I would love Scutaro. Without being fully informed as to Boston's depth, does anyone see a potential match anywhere?
  15. What an awesome game that was. I was in Kindergarten and listening to the game at the the family Easter celebration. One of the the first games I actually have a memory of still today.
  16. I remember him taking time to come over and sign autographs at County Stadium when I was a kid. Not that it's too unusual, but I still remember it today because he went out of his way to smile and be completely friendly with a group of annoying kids.
  17. I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to hauntings, but am wanting to do something unique for Halloween this weekend. I have read that La Belle Cemetery in Oconomowoc is haunted, and have read a few (not always credible) things about it online. Does anyone here have any experiences or tips for that cemetery in particular?
  18. Astros Marlins Pirates Cubs Giants
  19. I think that Quade was a fairly saavy move for the Cubs. Granted he's not high profile, but he does provide a certain sense of continuity and stability for what has to be a long-term rebuilding project.
  20. Interesting article on Sandoval and the reasons he's being benched from the NYT last Sunday: http://www.nytimes.com/20...scp=1&sq=sandoval&st=cse
  21. I've been lucky and been able to get to: Turner Field Wrigley Field Riverfront Great American Ballpark Coors Field The Astrodome County Stadium Miller Park Shea Stadium PNC Park Old Busch New Busch Nationals Ballpark Fenway US Cellular Field Jacobs Field Comerica Park The Metrodome Old Yankee Stadium The Rogers Centre I've got to agree with an earlier post and give it to the old classics: Fenway and Wrigley (despite my hatred of both the Red Sox and Cubs.) I would definitely recommend Coors Field though as far as newer stadiums go. I think that Coors and PNC were definite highlights over the past several years. The new ballparks in CIN and StL are ok, but nothing special even though the cities themselves were great. Can't wait to get out to NYC next summer for the the new Yankees and Mets ballparks.
  22. Wow, I thought you had to run on the field or interfere with a ball in play to get ejected from the game as a fan. Unique game.
