  1. The curse of former Brewers not allowing one of our pitchers to toss a no-no.... and Brian Anderson equaling a perma-curse as well.
  2. I am convinced BA is doing this on purpose, just to prove something against superstitions after he says it at the Top of 8.
  3. Haha. I guess that I should try standing up and watching the race once in awhile. Perhaps then I would at least know how many costumed individuals are running around the baseball field bothering the players trying to warm-up between innings.
  4. If you are into history at all, you could check out Independence Hall. Even if you are not, it is one of the most significant historic places in America since both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were written there. I haven't been to the new ballpark so I'm not sure exactly how far away it is, but I would imagine that it isn't too great of a distance.
  5. Am I alone in saying that I hate the sausage race? I think it bothers me on some existential level that people get so worked up over four costumed teenagers running around a field. Anyway, just my two cents.
  6. I could be wrong, but am fairly certain that the Maniac's name is Robert "The Maniac" Bedoin.
  7. I'm in as well. Thanks for doing this.
  8. I'll take them if they are still unclaimed. Thanks for doing this.
  9. I played against him in high school as well, and on the same traveling team for four years.... he can hit, but I am not convinced that you can compare him with guys in the Majors or even many in AAA for that matter.
  10. Just a moment too late. Thanks for doing this 20Fry. I really admire the generosity shown on this board.
  11. I am not positive, but I believe that Oklahoma's borders were also changing because of the land which the US government offered as an inducement for settlers. Basically, all of the territory not belonging to Native American Indian reservations was put up for grabs for free to encourage development.
  12. I would love to get in on the Bucks tickets for Saturday. Thanks for doing this, that's awesome.
  13. Doug Melvin continues his streak of not going to arbitration while Milwaukee's GM. Congrats to both Cory and Doug. I was really hoping that we could avoid the drama of a hearing.
  14. I am nearly positive that anytime that you testify before Congress you are under oath, and thus subject to perjury charges if caught in a lie. It would really seem to invite a lot of meaningless testimony if that wasn't a built in normality for any hearing that Congress conducts.
  15. Kalle, do you know which cities the IBL might be opening up in? How many teams? Etc.? I'd be really interested in seeing some of the details concerning that League.
  16. Does anyone know the reason why a post I put up on this thread earlier wouldn't be viewable? Just curious.
  17. I am not sure how much the injury talk "got" to Sheets, but doesn't he have to realize that Milwaukee's media market is peanuts in comparison with New York, LA, or pretty much anywhere else in the Big Leagues? Not saying that it wouldn't annoy me to hear about the injuries every day, but if he were playing anywhere else besides Milwaukee it would be much, much worse for him in terms of pressure in my opinion.
  18. Seems pretty clear BCR. Not sure if I agree or not, but its almost besides the point. Really, I'm just not sure why all the negativity towards you on this post.
  19. I am not sure how anyone on this website, unless you have inside knowledge, would just assume that it is Doug who is making Sheets feel unwanted and not Sheets rejecting the Brewers attempts to bring him back. Does anyone have any concrete evidence that I missed while reading this thread?
  20. Who's to say that at this point the Yankees a) still want Mike Cameron without trading either Swisher or Nady, or b) Would still not try and force the Brewers to either acquire Kei Igawa in the deal, or to pay a significant portion of Cameron's salary anyway?
  21. Who is Scott Bartell? Anyway, Burdette definitely is deserving, and I would add Logan just because of his being a key contributor on the last World Series champion from Milwaukee. Other then that, perhaps George Bamburger?
  22. I am not positive, but it seems like the revenue generated from walk-up ticket sales would be a drop in the bucket in comparison with the money gleaned from corporate suites, group sales (to an extent), revenue sharing, television contracts, and sponsorships. I am not sure what discernible difference there would really be in terms of our ability to add free-agents, and am not convinced that a higher gate attendance is really the barometer that a team would use in order to determine free agent spending capacity. Could be wrong, its just a hunch, but would be curious to see some numbers on this.
  23. I wouldn't want it both ways.... I like winning. Additionally, the Cuban and Japanese teams that made it into last Classic's championship game were actually teams with Japanese and Cuban players.
  24. Thanks for clearing up some of the rules for me on the WBC roster policy. It just seems a bit odd, and maybe it really doesn't matter, but when you have an event billed as the "World Baseball Classic" you'd think that more of the actual world would be represented. I mean, granted its probably a bit extreme, but even the Dominican team is full of US citizens (A-Rod, Alou, Manny, Pujols, Ortiz), and if we (the US) really cared about winning this, we would actually insist on playing for the country you are a citizen of. The Italian example seems even more ridiculous, as anyone with an Italian last name would seem to qualify to play for a country that they may have never even been to.
