Strange timing for this thread and what occurred last night. Just sickening news that put me in a very weird mood all day today. The Jessica Redfield thing with her tweets right before it happened were very disturbing to me. I feel very bad for everyone connected to the incident. Nice to see that they caught the guy, though... I always feel somewhat "cheated" when a horrible person like this kills themselves before the cops get a chance to take them in.

I'm not a huge Parra fan or anything... but after what we've seen from this bullpen this year... all of our options are quite likely to lose the game for us.

I'd rather have Thornburg and Peralta get their feet wet in the bigs this year when it doesn't matter and then maybe - just MAYBE - it will matter next year and they won't be so green. -
I was driving home tonight and stopped at the Qdoba right off North Ave. and Prospect. On my way out of the parking lot a large DEER ran through the alley in front of my car. For those of you that don't know the east side... this is an extremely urban area. I could not believe my eyes. I will be driving in fear of him when I go to pick up my girlfriend from Summerfest later tonight.

Do you think... a) He is still on steroids. b) Steroids don't help performance much. c) He's been lucky and he'll have a sharp decline in production soon, resulting in average/poor numbers for the entire season. Just curious, because he's making me feel better for believing in him right now.

Nyjer Morgan - Is it Time to Move On?

Like others have said, there is no points to trading Morgan. He isn't going to get us anything... and even if we trade him Roenicke probably wouldn't play Schafer. I'd rather just have Schafer play regularly in AAA all year. Morgan will not be tendered a contract after this season. -
Wolf has been worth his contract even if he ends up not pitching that well this year. The KRod thing was a mistake for sure but I don't think it was easy to see coming. The Weeks thing I can't explain but I can say that I would've done the same thing if I was GM back when that extension was signed. I still think he will be productive for most of his contract. Hart is UNDERrated by most of brewerfan, even though I'm not a fan of his RF'ing. I guess the only thing I agree with is Ramirez... I don't think that's going to be a good deal for us, mostly because of the third year. I also see him moving over to 1B by the end of the deal.

Yes, Fenway does tours pretty much every day. We did a tour on a non-gameday. It's very cool and you get to sit in a bunch of different spots throughout the park. You don't get to go on the field like you do at Camden Yards, but other than that it's pretty cool. Boston seemed like a great city, I was there for just two days this fall and got some unfriendly weather, so I didn't get to explore it as much as I would've liked. Get a lobster roll from James Hook or Belle Isle!

Lucroy is still going to start most of the time... but I'm wondering if they'd really send Martin back down after this stretch. Kottares' days are numbered. He definitely won't be on the team next year.

Kottaras is a bad catcher. It'd be smart of him to learn how to play 1st base this offseason. It'd be even better if he could learn to hit right-handed too.
