Braun being gone and Ramirez slumping badly is just really bad timing for the offense. If we could've driven in a few of those stranded runners over the last week we would probably be at about a .500 record this past week. -

It didn't end up mattering, but odd that Roenicke wouldn't use Wang the other night with a big lead, but decides to use him in a 2 run ballgame. This team still has the best record in baseball, this team still has the best record in baseball, this team still has the best record in baseball...

I still think they should stick with Davis starting 4ish days per week in LF, but I wouldn't mind seeing more Gindl. He was really solid last year. I like Logan for defense and speed on the bases, but Gindl showed signs of actually being able to hit big league pitching. I hope Gindl stays up and plays at least once per week over in LF while filling in for Braun when needed. I wouldn't even think of giving up on Davis starting until after the All-Star break. I won't deny he looks like the Khris Davis that came up the first time much more than the Khris Davis that came up the second time, though. Hoping he figures it out soon, our offense needs him. -
Are you imbibing? He always writes like that. So I guess I still don't know the answer to that question.

I am loving Mark Reynolds. He can strike out 250 times this year and I won't care if we get 30+ bombs out of the bottom of our order. Great 1B D so far, too.

After the first win I thought "wow, this is great to take at least 1 here" After last night, I'm just elated that we already won this series with such a limited roster. If we somehow win this game... wow. That would truly be incredible. We all know how quickly the bottom can fall out, so at this point I'm just hoping for a winning road trip and hopefully we'll get some players back by the time that's open.

I love BA's sense of humor as well. He's just the right amount of quirky for me, and him and Bill have great chemistry. Sophia is awful. Her delivery is just flat and she doesn't inject much personality. She just has no life in her voice and sounds like she's reading her words off a prompter/card. Which she probably is, but it's not supposed to sound like that. That's the whole idea.

Thanks, I may pick up a Hobby Box of Topps Heritage and see what happens. It's cool that you get an autograph per box. Do I have it correct that Topps/Bowman still is the only company to have the MLB team name/logo rights? So basically it's just different versions of Topps and Bowman cards as of right now?

Where do you even buy baseball cards nowadays? Online? What are some reputable sites? I see them at Target and that's about the only place I ever notice them. I don't think card shops exist anymore.

I have felt the itch for years but just feel totally out of touch and overwhelmed at this point. Is it really just Bowman and Topps at this point? Also, it seems like you get way fewer cards in a pack than when I was growing up in the 80's... but maybe I'm wrong about that.

I picked my bobblehead up last night and was immediately approached by some lurker attempting to buy it. I declined, because something told me he was about to offer me the $75 bid I currently have on eBay. The market is definitely getting flooded... and I'd expect a ton more up after this weekend once more people pick theirs up.

When is it Time to Give Ron Roenicke His Due?

A thread to praise a manager? Wow. Never seen this before. I'm of the belief that a manager doesn't matter all that much, but I will say it's been great seeing that Roenicke is definitely treating every single game as if it's important early-on. I don't know if I would've taken Henderson's job based on his spring training, but he's being proactive and trying to win early at all costs. I like that. It's about time the Brewers had a nice start. He is driving me crazy with the amount of stealing/outs on the bases so far, even though I know a lot of those probably aren't his fault. Other than that, I have no major beef. -
It brings the frustration and stupidity of college poll rankings into pro sports that don't need them. Ha! Exactly.
