  1. With how long it's going to drag out, I think this will easily be the most-posted-about thread in Brewerfan history.
  2. I'm so psyched that we can continue to hear about what "will" happen for the next 8 months or so. Should be awesome.
  3. Chris Berman makes it hard to watch. He's really obnoxious.
  4. Yes, some people do want this team to try and be a .500 team this year. Why? I don't know. They are embarassed to support a last place team, I guess... I really don't know. They aren't thinking about draft picks. Brewer fans that jumped on the bandwagon in 2005 or later are spoiled, basically. There were far worse years than this in the past. There's plenty of reasons to think the team can compete again very soon. That hasn't always been the case.
  5. Trying to make sense of your posts is always a challenge, but especially after I've had adult beverages.
  6. Every starting pitcher we've used except for Kyle Lohse.
  7. It's so dumb but I truly believe a good 6-7 inning against the Dbacks tonight could go a long way trade-offer-wise. Wouldn't hurt if he hit a homer too.
  8. There's no in-game thread today... where am I supposed to complain about how bad Hellwig is?
  9. so sick of "they're going to suspend him" - just do it or shut up about it.
  10. They were a 96 win team with Casey McGehee and Yuniesky Betancourt playing 3B and SS most of the year, which makes me think they could've won even more with decent alternatives.
  11. It's more about the circumstances and the fact that you almost never see a game end in that way. I wouldn't say it's an easy play, but Gomez has made much better plays than that. I think it's just getting to the point where you can't believe how often he does things like this. It's probably 4-5 in reality, but it feels like he robs home runs weekly - and it's just a joy to watch.
  12. So... how great is it that Jason Werth's at-bat song is the theme from Game of Thrones? So great. Especially since he looks like he could be a character on GoT.
  13. Since it seems we won't get anything really worthwhile for our multiple relievers by themselves, I hope that we can add-on a reliever or two to Aoki or whatever other position player we happen to trade and get some better prospects in return. You would think most teams could use a good reliever in their pen for the second half, and we have plenty.
  14. Do you really think that Corey Hart gets a three year deal from someone after missing the entire season? I don't. I'd be surprised if he got more than a one year deal. If they think they can compete next year I could see them signing Hart to a one year deal for a few million... but if they don't think they have a shot next year they'll let him walk.
  15. Unacceptable start from Gallardo. The fact that Bryce Harper's at-bat song is "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus is awesome.
  16. Piggybacking off the "Top 5 Trade Parners" thread, I wouldn't mind knowing everyone's five most likely trade chips or players to be traded. My list is in order, #1 being who I think is most likely to be traded. 1. Axford - The Tigers and other teams that wanted an experienced closer would probably give up something for him and his remaining years of team control. 2. K-Rod - We won't get as much for him as we get for Axford since he's a free agent after this year... but I think it's possible we get something worthwhile and there's no reason to keep him. 3. Ramirez - I hope he heats up because I'm guessing his injury is scary to some potential suitors, but I think he's very likely to be traded while the Brewers pay more of his remaining contract than I would like. 4. Aoki - I love this guy but I feel like Logan Schaeffer makes him somewhat expendable and he's easier to replace than Gomez. 5. Gallardo - The toughest call. If the front office thinks they can somehow acquire 2-3 good starting pitchers for 2014 or 2015, I think we keep him. If they think we need a longer rebuild and won't even have much of a chance until 2016 or beyond, then I think he'll get dealt. I also think any number of our other relievers could be dealt, I just think it could be any of them and the return will be minimal for them.
  17. I don't think about the fact that they're in last place and I get to the game and hope for a good result that day and that day only. My wife and I have a 20 pack and we go to all of the games. Worst case scenario they go down by a lot of runs (5+) early and we duck out. I am probably in the minority, but I think this is the most talented "bad" team in baseball. I guess that could make it more frustrating to some people and in a way it is... but I pretty much love the team except for the horrible starting pitching. If the starting pitching keeps us in the game, I always have a good time watching in person OR on TV.
  18. So you've got Schaeffer.... And you've got Gindl. Both ends of the defensive spectrum.
  19. It sure would be nice if he could get going again at the plate to help increase his value right now. It doesn't seem like there's any way we're going to unload him without eating a lot of that contract. Hope I'm wrong.
  20. Two tickets in Terrace Box Section 412, Row 1 on the aisle. Face value is $24 each - I am looking for $40 for the pair. Please email me at thesaltshakersband at yahoo dot com if interested, thanks!
  21. I was trying to figure that out too. I was thinking 3rd ward.
  22. This is the correct answer. Segura may not be as good as Ryan Braun, but he is equally as valuable at this point due to how cheap he is going to be and how long we have him under control. No number of unproven prospects would make me want to part with him. He is proven and he's going to be very good the next six years.
