  1. Yeah we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. If people are that passionate about "strategy" when there's 1 more double switch and a couple more bunts per game when we could be seeing an extra quality hitter at the plate instead then to each is own. There's also a reason that the AL has dominated the NL in interleague play over the last 10 years: The DH.
  2. I don't think it would make it harder for the Brewers to compete. They could be putting Gamel or Nelson in the DH spot and be perfectly competitive at a cheap price. It would be a great opportunity to get Prince off of 1B as well because his defense is horrid.
  3. I agree 100% with Ender. Pitchers are paid to pitch and not hit so why risk injury to them by putting them in harms way of 90 mph fastballs and make them run 90 feet to first base? Especially when pitching is such a premium commodity in today's game.
  4. We were there 45 minutes before yesterday's game and had to sit inside because it was so full, but yesterday was a huge crowd. So if you're going to a lower profile game, then 45 minutes should be plenty to get a seat. If you want front row though, get there 1.5 hours early.
  5. LP was really nice while signing an autograph for me last month in Maryvale. He was very friendly and wasn't afraid to joke around. I hope LP turns into a Hall of Famer to make my baseball worth a lot of money. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. I'm sure there will be no accountability on that play as usual with MLB umpiring.
  7. Or just take the hit away and go back to the count where it was a foul ball. Seems simple to me.
  8. This is why I'm a 100% supporter of instant replay in all cases. The less power you give these mistake prone umpires, the better. Take this one to Selig, Melvin. It's not like we're whining about nothing here. There is visual proof that it was foul. Why not use the proof to get the proper outcome?
  9. Can't they show the ump that huge divot in the ground that is left of the foul line?
  10. Suppan's stuff is so bad it's disgusting me, but somehow he's still pitching a decent game. That would be a typical Suppan start for ya.
  11. I heard on Mike and Mike this morning that this was the first time since 1959 where a pitcher recorded over 10 K's and hit a home run to be the only run of the game. Very interesting stuff. EDIT: Oops. Patrick beat me to it.
  12. Maybe they'll actually show a game in HD now and not make the Bucks a higher priority?
  13. So if I understand correctly, Dish network does not get MLB TV? If so, that affects my decision of what provider to get as I am moving this summer.
  14. Week's slugging percentage is at a career high rate of .455. If he can slug like that, his OBP right now is plenty serviceable.
  15. I think people are jumping the gun a bit on Brad Nelson. He has less than 20 PA's so far this year. That rings small sample size alert in my mind. I'd keep him here because he has good patience at the plate and good power. It's only a matter of time before he gets some big hits.
  16. Great news because now we still have Plan B in CF next year if Cameron decides to take more money in free agency from another team with more money. Those of you hoping for Hart in CF, I disagree. He doesn't have the instincts of a CF and our ability to prevent runs would be greatly damaged. Let's hope Cain comes back and is ready for a possible 2010 Brewers debut in CF.
  17. There's been a lot of whining done on this board about Mike Cameron and his 10 million dollar contract during the offseason, but so far he's making those people eat crow and we aren't hearing much from them. Let's hope Mike can continue the hot start and continue to keep those people quiet.
  18. Braun is really seeing the baseball well right now. He's even taking low and away fastballs and hitting them hard to right field that are well off the plate. If he keeps up this kind of plate discipline we might be talking about how many MVP votes he'll be getting in September.
  19. As much as I agree with you guys, I'm hoping that Julio turns into this year's version of Mota. The fans get all over him when he does bad, but he turns in some nice stretches and provides some value with his good velocity and breaking ball. I'm thinking a bit optimistic here, and I definitely would have DFA'd Julio over Swindle, but let's hope this is how it plays out.
  20. I'd sell high on Hall. Trade him to a team in need for a 3B (Yankees?), and bring up Gamel and his red hot bat. It's a risky move, but it could really pay off like bringing up Braun did 2 years ago.
  21. Sure, we'll have room for him, but good luck competing with the Yankees in getting him. Unless Gardner has a huge year and the New York hype machine turns him into the next Willie Mayes, I think the Yankees will make a strong play for him and that means this is Cameron's last year in Milwaukee. Cameron will go join his buddy C.C. over in New York and willl later realize that he should have stayed in Milwaukee where he was happy.
  22. And Swindle joins the fun by walking him. Time to change the channel.
  23. That's good news for Brewers fans. Hopefully he keeps causing distractions for the Cubs and makes them regret the signing.
  24. Small Sample size alert on this one, but the early indications are good. I'd like to see Weeks sustain an 800 OPS with above average defense like he did in 2007 and I'll be a happy camper.
  25. Rickie could have made the umpires call a lot easier had he not made a poor throw, but if that's his only mistake after 5+ games, that's not too bad.
