  1. The Moral of the story is if you whine about stuff enough in life, you win. Case in point: St. Louis.
  2. I'd pay to see Prince vs Pujols in a Cage Match. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  3. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/e0c15f9e8e376ed1a19e537f71aabb0a27164cf.jpg
  4. I bet it'd be interesting to see the Cardinals message boards right now.
  5. I wonder how many shots of whiskey LaRussa has in him right now.
  6. From my seat it looked like a horrible pitch. Can you check the f/x data on that one?
  7. Please go into more of what you mean by luck? Because leaving meat balls down the middle, which is what Dave Bush tends to do doesn't seem like luck to me. He's doing that less and sure enough he's ERA is down.
  8. That's all well and good, but the fact of the matter is you have to translate that "skill" into results and ERA best shows the results. The results were not good for Dave Bush in 2007. They were decent in 2006. They are looking like they could be very decent in 2008.
  9. If FTJ is Pro Management, then I'm Arnold Palmer It's nice to see Bush get back somewhat to 2006 form where he had 166 K's with 38 BB's. I never thought he'd find his way back. I do wish he could K people like he used to. I assume hitters around the league just have the guy figured out.
  10. Can anyone explain how the Rays were 2nd in ERA but 30th in strikeouts? I find that amazing. EDIT: I read that wrong. Now it makes sense. They were 30th in ERA, but 2nd in K's. That's still quite interesting though.
  11. For Reference, see Green Bay Packer fan base. Even though Fenway's capacity is smaller than Miller Park, I consider this a high mark of achievement. I imagine every Red Sox game has sold out this year, but I could be wrong.
  12. Dave Bush continues to be a statistical anomoly. His WHIP is among the same as Brandon Webb and John Lackey, but his ERA is well over a run higher than both. A 4.26 ERA is nothing to be ashamed of because it leads to a park adjusted ERA+ of 101. If Bush only could put together a full season of effectiveness and not blow up for month stretches, we'd have a nice #3 starter in our hands.
  13. I think this does say a lot about the city of Milwaukee. The Twins are in a pennant race right now and everytime I turn on Sportscenter and see Twins highlights, I see a lot of empty seats in the dome. I think that might change a bit with the new stadium being built up there, but it's worth noting.
  14. If we have the same OF right now as in Opening Day 2009 with Kapler as our 4th OF and whoever else as the 5th OF, then that is completely fine by me. I just don't see how you can go with Tony Gwynn Jr or Michael Brantley at this point in CF in 2009 when you have a better option at a reasonable price in Cameron. I think we should bring that Cameron "Disappointment" thread back and see if we have the same line of thinking.
  15. "Always felt that way"? You must not have gotten that quote from me. I am just using my judgement over a flawed statistic. That is just my opinion though. Ryan Howard looks as clumsy as you can get at 1B. Even clumsier than Prince. Both are future DH's anyways. It's just a matter of time.
  16. That is, of course, is if you take the Zone Rating statistics at full price. I, for one, don't.
  17. I'd still consider Prince better than Ryan Howard defensively. Would you guys agree?
  18. Once again, this is just another case of Yost defending his players. I'm sure he was angry at Hardy for making the out, he just doesn't like to rip his players in the media so he lies. Hardy trying to take 3rd there didn't make too much sense, and ending innings early for one run needs to be stopped.
  19. You'd think the Brewers would want him to pitch less complete games in blowout situations because the more CG's he gets, the higher his price is in the offseason, but that is all moot anyways since his asking price will be off the charts for a small market team. C.C. is at 195 innings now for the season. Yikes.
  20. So is it pretty much a lock that Weeks is going to the DL? Who are the top contenders to get a callup? Irabarren doesn't seem to be getting the job done this year.
  21. I enjoy Ken Rosenthal, but the "beating up on weak competition" argument only goes so far. There's a lot of teams in baseball that don't have an 8 game winning streak against any team this year, none the less, the bottom feeders of baseball. This is the major leagues and every win is earned. That said, we'll see how the Brewers fare against the tougher competition to come. Rosenthal could be on to something, but I'm a fan of the Brewers so I refuse to believe. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  22. I wouldn't count the Yankee's out yet. Their odds are low, but making up 6 games in a month and a half is definitely not out of the question.
  23. You could say that about most Major League pitching coaches. Sometimes the best thing for a player is a change of scenery after a loss of confidence.
  24. Jayson Stark thinks otherwise. Here is another snippet of the article:
