  1. I'm just saying that even some baseball experts see my point of view so I wasn't just throwing it out there off the wall.
  2. Will you be saying the same thing if Parra gets hurt? With Parra's injury history, that idea is very much in play.
  3. Should we be rooting for a Taylor Green injury to decrease his odds of being in the trade?
  4. I'll be one section over from you. My tickets on Sunday are in the Family Section. It's a church outing.
  5. I think this article pretty much sums up the reason I started this thread: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8308750/Twins'-surprise-run-built-on-shaky-foundation
  6. Ken Rosenthal is one of my favorites and he couldn't have summed up the trade any better: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8319678/Savvy-Brewers-turn-prospects-into-ace-Sabathia
  7. In light of the C.C. trade, I think it's time to DFA Mota.
  8. If Parra would get into an "Innings Limit" situation, the C.C. signing does wonders here. We now have options to keep Parra's innings down and maybe save him for the playoff run by skipping his start a few times here and there.
  9. Cubs fans don't seem to be worried. If you read NSBB, they are all scoffing at us and saying we'll be better but not anything close to them. Ah, yes, the arrogance of Chicago Cubs fans never fails.
  10. I think that would be a great move. We could stretch him out again to be our 5th starter in August/September. We all know how that turned out last year when we did this. Why not do it again?
  11. I got mine. I'll be in section 229 row 7. I'm really looking forward to seeing C.C. pitch. It's going to be electric.
  12. I would be making the 90 mile drive to Appleton many times if the Brewers decided to put their A ball team there.
  13. Yeah I think that's the best approach on Hardy. You could point to 2 big reasons why he got hot: 1) His shoulder got healthy 2) He was moved back to the #2 spot and has protection from Braun and Fielder But nobody could have expected him being this hot. Sometimes you just have to get away from the predictions based on statistics and tip your cap to a person. I am going to do that in this case.
  14. Very nice. Who would you say has a better curve ball? Sheets or Sabathia?
  15. Thanks for the compliment. Now let's get on to bigger and better things. What is the scouting report on Sabathia? I heard he throws 94 mph. What is his best secondary pitch? I'm going to do some scouting on Tuesday. I just bought tickets. Oh and has anyone read North Side Baseball to hear the crying?
  16. I'm not sure what revisionist's history is but I'll admit to it because that's where I'm coming from. If this deal does put us over the top it was the right move. Do I think it was the right move? No. But I'm not the GM and Doug Melvin knows baseball a lot better than I do.
  17. The line of thinking is that if you are going to give up 6 years of Matt LaPorta, you better get something damn good in return and if they don't make the playoffs the deal was a complete waste besides 2 draft picks that won't see the Bigs for at least 3 more years.
  18. I consider this deal a success if the Brewers make the playoffs. I consider it an absolute failure if they don't. I don't really have much more to add than that.
  19. I'm not sure we'd need Parra in our playoff rotation as it is. It seems that a deal for an SP is going to happen so we could just do Sheets, Sabathia, Suppan, and then give Bush or McClung Game 4 if we don't want to pitch Sheets on 3 days rest. Parra could start Game 4 as well if he's got anything left in the tank.
  20. I wonder if ESPN would actually favor us over the Cardinals to make the playoffs if we got Sabathia. Right now, they think the Cardinals are far and away better.
  21. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/c7135694914283c838bf665adffdfe45ab7ba28.jpghttp://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/e0d25959b1867346682d6187ae2e689c59369a3.jpg
  22. Sure, but why would you want to trade someone who you have locked in at such a low price. That would be silly. We don't have Prince locked in, so it would be smarter to trade him before he's a Yankee.
