  1. Or does she consider playing all 6 teams and still being the best? She considers the Twins better than anyone in the NL Central.
  2. I was just in an argument with my girlfriend who is a Twins fan about how the AL is way better than the NL and that if the Twins were in the NL Central they'd be a playoff team. She claimed they are just stuck in a tough division and tough league. I would have to disagree with this because the NL has just as many top caliber teams like the Dodgers, Padres, Mets and Brewers to match with the Angels, Red Sox, and Tigers. The Yankees being down this year also plays into effect. What do you guys think?
  3. I think the chances that they extend Santana's contract is about the same as the Brewers extending Sheets contract. Both are probably not happening.
  4. When you have garbage players in your lineup like Jason Bartlett and Nick Punto, LOB will happen.
  5. If Parra and Balfour pitch well, we are looking at having one of the best bullpens in the league for the stretch run. The question is will the bullpen burn out if we have to keep using them like we have?
  6. With our starting pitchers mostly not going late into games in our last 4 wins, our bullpen has been great. Gallardo saved Sheets on Saturday. Turnbow and Cordero are getting the job done. Villy performs magic with the bases loaded tonight. How many more games can our bullpen bail us out? Hopefully Parra and Balfour pitch up to their expectations.
  7. Do we have to worry about Parra's innings limit as much? Doesn't being 24 years old as opposed to Yo's age of 21 allow us to pitch him more innings?
  8. A much bigger blow would be pitching him 220 innings and having his shoulder give out and having him pitch 0 innings for a year and a half. I completely agree, but I'm just saying that the Sheets injury is having a huge ripple effect. I was hoping we could keep Yo in the bullpen until September. Now we are going to have to shut him down in September. I hope we give Parra a shot to start to see what he's got at the ML level.
  9. This is a huge blow to the chances of having Gallardo for the playoffs if the Brewers truly keep his innings at 175.
  10. Yost is also being regarded highly around the league. He is definitely a top candidate for manager of the year if the Brewers make the playoffs.
  11. Who is going to be the player he sucks up to on the Brewers as he did with Eckstein and many other players?
  12. It will be good to see Daron Sutton back in Milwaukee this week calling the games for Arizona. I liked Sutton, but I think BA has done a fine job as well. I'm sure he'll have great things to say about Milwaukee to the Arizona fans in their broadcast.
  13. but he never really has hit like he was projected too. He's also only 24 years old.
  14. If I may borrow the "contending teams don't..." phrase, contending teams do not send down promising players only because of a 50 PA slump. If he's not hurt he needs to play, IMO. Well said, Rluz. We all know Weeks can hit. Yost will let him work things out in that 8th spot and when Braun goes on his slump, hopefully Weeks will pick it up and start hitting. Not everyone can stay hot all season and the same is likewise for being cold with players of the talent level of Rickie Weeks.
  15. Rickie Weeks needs to be on the big league club. He needs to play through his slump and I guarantee you he will get hot before the season is over. You can bet the farm on that. The guy has too much talent to be hitting .220. Plus his speed brings another dimension that this team needs. If he continues to struggle, give him more days off and he will work his way back to being a good hitter.
  16. Teams that rely on the home run have the potential to be a great team. See 2006 Detroit Tigers. The Reds rely on the home run a lot but they have no pitching.
  17. Just waiting for "The Season is Over" thread to start. Not to mention the "Ben Sheets Being Injured Makes Us Better" thread. First of all, I started the "Cappy to the DL makes us better thread" and for the record I do not feel the same about Sheets. There is a difference between a soft tossing lefty and a top 5 pitcher in the NL. Just thought I'd clear that up.
  18. It was a great managerial move by Yost. Let's give credit where credit is due.
  19. Yeah this umpiring is horrible. Villy had 2 guys struck out that ended up getting RBI in the next few pitches. This is rediculous. They really need to look into eliminating some of these arrogant umpires who think their zone is better than the strike zone represented by the rules.
  20. Yes because when you start a game it is a whole different mentality. Villanueava was born and bread as a starter, not a reliever. He needs to get in the rotation fast.
  21. Villy came in with 2 runners on base in an impossible situation and got out of it with only 1 run. If he starts this game, we are definietly in better shape.
  22. I'm really not sure, Brian.
  23. I was considered outrageous for making the claim that the Brewers were a better team as a result of Cappy being on the DL and I got hammered for it. My claim doesn't sound so idiotic now. My thread was even locked. Well the bottom line is that Cappy isn't getting the job done. He's not pitching like he's a 4 ERA pitcher so get him out of the rotation and get Villy in there because he actually has good stuff.
  24. According to mlb.com, a prospect that the Brewers could trade to get late inning relief help is Alcides Escobar because we already have JJ Hardy established at Shortstop. Link How much value does Escobar have around the majors? Could he bring in the bullpen help that we need?
  25. If all 4 of those things happened, the Brewers would win the division by about 25 games. That would be nice http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
