  1. So by getting the fan's perception, that proves it wrong?

  5. It's interesting that you ask a question like that, Rluz, since you are a hard core stats guy and out to prove that there is no such thing as clutch.

  9. I realize that it is the general consensus on this board that Prince won't sign a long term deal because of Boras, but there is always a chance because the decisions are ultimately made by the player, not the agent. I'd give Prince about a 10% chance of doing the deal if we offer him the same contract as Miggy Cabrera. I'd offer Braun a similar deal to Tulowitksi and see what happens there as well.
  10. We don't know if Villy is the next great thing, but at least he has upside. Vargas and Bush are proven pitchers that will put up mediocre numbers. You have to dig to strike gold.
  11. If that's how you feel about this, it sounds like you agree with me and are playing devil's advocate. I agree that it makes sense to a certain degree and it's not a crazy idea, but I don't think the move is the best for the team. But, I do like Doug Melvin and he knows baseball way better than I do so let's see how this plays out. Play Ball!!!!
  12. It's safe to say that Howry will get his share of saves this year because the Cubs will be very careful with Kerry Wood. Over/Under 50 games before he ends up on the DL?
  13. So how does this all change when the Cubs get Brian Roberts?
  14. Yes, but how many games is it going to cost us having Vargas start in April and May instead of Villy?
  15. The question is how many wins in April and May do we want to sacrifice for "Organizational Depth"?
  16. Actually they have. Vargas had one save last year. Right?
  17. They are connected because Vargas is a candidate for the long relief job instead of in the rotation which would take a spot from Villanueva. McClung to long relief means Vargas is in the rotation means no spot for Villy.
  18. Is it THAT essential to have a lefty in the rotation? Why waste Parra's innings when we could go with the less fragile Villy? There is no need for me to give my input on this injury because everyone knows my stance.
  19. I liked Stetter better anyways if the Brewers go with a 2nd lefty.
