  1. They are probably thrilled they'll be able to break out of their slump this weekend.
  2. I think part of the reason people are jumping on the start(s) is that velocity is down. Chacin and Anderson are both down from last year...like 1.5 mph. That could be trouble.
  3. I wish I could watch the game. I feel like I miss so much not being able to see it live. I know you're in college, but I just read that espn is charging 4.99 a month to stream every hockey and baseball game starting like April 12... Edit: maybe not every, but more.
  4. It’s shocking that an SEC was willing to come up and play a game in the North.....and they lost. Doubt we’ll ever see that happen again. Also, Alabama hasn’t played a true non conference road game in like ten years. They play name brands teams, often during that teams down season (Michigan, Louisville, FSU, West Virginia, etc). Wisconsin should follow that strategy. True. I've often thought Wisconsin should try to schedule more games against the 'middle' teams in the SEC. Those teams are always over ranked, so wins against them would look better.
  5. Maybe.....eventually......though with the way college football seems to be moving away from any sort of parity it’s going to tough for pretty much anyone but Wisconsin and maybe Nebraska to have any real sustained success. The east is just loaded right now and it doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. I will say the Big Ten in general seems to have done a great job with recent coaching hires. Brohm. Fleck. Frost. Harbaugh. All excellent hires. True. But in football, at least non conference wise, you more or less control who you play. Wisconsin would be wise to follow the Ohio St method and start scheduling home and home series with name brand schools. That’s the only way they’ll overcome the weak division issue. At least in the NCAA tournament you have the chance to play good teams. It’s not Michigan’s fault that UNC couldn’t beat Texas AM or that Xavier couldn’t beat Florida St. Its not like Michigan scheduled Texas AM and Florida St. Sorry, I didnt mean to imply that it would be stronger than the east, just stronger in comparison to this year. I would expect Nebraska to be better and Iowa is no slouch. I don't see the west being stronger than the east anytime soon. As far as scheduling goes, I will put that thought into the football thread sometime, but the Badgers have scheduled LSU and Bama recently...hard to do much more than that year in and year out.
  6. You can only beat who they put in front of you. Some years the west will be stronger and some years it will be weaker, plus the just 2 seasons ago they played all the best teams in the East and STILL played for the big ten title(if my memory serves correctly).
  7. Chase is all over, but the zone does appear to be in the Cards favor thus far. Flaherty is all around the zone though, so I'm sure that helps.
  8. Yeah, that is the bigger concern to me than Sedar blowing the decision on sending Piña. Early yet, but he is down 1.4 mph on his fastball from last year.
  9. Someone else mentioned it, but Chase was around 95 last year far more often than this year. Velocity does seem down.
  10. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/23001797/minnesota-twins-upset-chance-sisco-baltimore-orioles-bunted-vs-shift-9th This is so annoying. So, you can shift to try to take away a hit, but he isn't supposed to bunt in that situation? If it wasn't an important situation to get an out, then why did you shift?
  11. Testosterone is a steroid Are you sure about that?
  12. Sure. Id take the one that might have the highest ceiling of the 3.
  13. Only slightly worse than Perez and Villar? That's pretty bad. Play solid defense, but can't hit a lick.
  14. I have a feeling people are gonna realize what sogard is really quickly...
  15. Yea, has a beaut.
  16. Congrats! I think people grew tired of your on again off again comments. End of the world...top of the world. It does grow tiresome to read every other post. I for one don't want to for you because I enjoy seeing excitement, but I can surely see how others feel. And the constant push towards the mods...
  17. Same. Wondered how often they were gonna try the up and in...
  18. To be fair...the first hit by myers was a flair, then there was a ball that probably/possibly gotten an out at 2nd, but Villar was shifted around.
  19. Can we please get rid of pitchers hitting and running. Man.
