  1. They didn't play hardball with me today..... I didn't threaten to leave or anything. I just asked if there was a way to reduce my bill. Charter, right? I'm talking about Spectrum. Are they not the same?
  2. Why does Stone taking checks from an agency, that wanted to sign him to become a client of theirs once he went pro, have anything to do with him deciding Maryland over Wisconsin? I don't know the situation with stone but some agents and AAU coaches steer kids toward certain schools with certain apparel deals. Now Maryland and Wisconsin are both Under Armour schools so I doubt that was the reason in Stone's case bit it probably happened for at least some players. If I remember correctly, at the time, Wisconsin wasn't an UA school. Could be wrong and a quick Google search could probably tell me, but I don't feel like looking it up.
  3. Hilarious.
  4. Yep. Just seems like the team took so many steps back this year. Frustrsting.
  5. I wondered if something like that would happen. It would make the most sense to create a new username here and not mention sources or anything. Just enjoy engaging in conversation about moves/the Crew. Like I said with my buddies...it was fun to add to the speculation anyways. Anyone that believes or did not believe what he was saying has that right, but I just enjoyed having more Brewer conversations during the slow period.
  6. Straight up silky mitts... The entire game was incredible. It was truly fun to watch.
  7. Yep. Poor decision on the leagues part.
  8. Yep. I've seen the final displayed and never go out of my way to watch it. If it's on I'll leave it on, but yea, not all that exciting. I wish it was all college kids.
  9. I know you've said this before, but do you know that Stearns was trying to rack up losses? Is it possible he saw some of the talent and it finally got put together? Of course there were a few pieces that didn't pan out, but it didn't look like a tank team to me from the beginning. In fact, I hit the over on wins last year. No way I was the only one that saw talent from this team. Did I expect them to be one game out of the wildcard? No. I'd be willing to guess Stearns saw it too.
  10. You may beat our pack...but you'll never lick our dickey! I'm 32. My ol man told me that commercial. Thought it was hilarious.
  11. Has he been heard or seen since the end of the season?? I thought I read or saw something that said he needs/needed surgery or something. I am probably confusing him with someone else, but if I wasn't lazy I would just give it a quick google search. EDIT: According to a yahoo article he is indeed needing surgery. Apparently he pitched through major shoulder issues last year.
  12. And that's the thing that agents need to get through their heads. Front offices are much smarter now, they are just not going to go out and give those insane contracts in free agents. You might be able to get a high AAV contract but you're going to have to go low on years to mitigate the risk for the team. Or you can get more years but you're going to have to take less AAV so if the player does decline in the last couple of years, they don't have $20+ million of wasted payroll. In the next CBA players should push for higher wages for MiLB players (they won't) and a higher minimum salary and earlier arbitration (they probably won't). I agree with your points. Well stated.
  13. Yep. They need to sweep the end. 3 n 1 might be close with a win or 2 in the big 10 tourny...maybe
  14. I'm pretty sure that's what Petit did when he was interested in a Wisconsin team. So that would make sense.
  15. Not familiar with him - what makes him a bad dude? He is a unique person. I kinda like him...as a person. He helped some girl on her algebra or precalc on Twitter once. Seemed pretty genuine.
  16. Really? The owners do nothing? What do they truly, actually do besides make money? That is what they own teams for. What do baseball owners contribute to make the sport better in any way? Clearly you know this, but without them the money doesn't flow. Without money, there is no league. At least not like we are used to. Maybe Im wrong, but the players need the owners and the owners need the players.
  17. Players are only worth what someone is willing to pay them. It appears that owners have realized that baseball spending has gotten out of control. I am not sure they are 'pinching pennies' simply because they are unwilling to fork over millions of dollars for potential risks.
  18. If only there was a DH in the NL and we may not be having this problem anyways. Crazy to me that half the league gets hamstrung having too many options for positions and the other half of the league can accommodate this situation better. Oh well, he's a Brewer now, so I am excited to see what he and Yelich can do at the top of the lineup.
  19. If Hendricks is still throwing 86 mph this season, he's going to get shelled to the point they might consider putting safety netting in front of the bleachers. I am pretty sure he was doing that last year and did just fine. Some people think the Cubs have small margin for error, but I personally think they win the division going away.
  20. Gross. Only worse if you were a hawks fan.
  21. I think that ship has sailed. I do appreciate the team that Stearns and Company have put together, but I still think we are competing for the Wild Card for this 'window'. The Cubs have a ton of talent yet, and unless injuries or massive regression happens they are still the top dog in the division.
  22. Yea, Wisconsin was very fortunate to come out with a tie. I thought their chances for tournament bid were shot a few weeks ago, but they have four huge games coming up against Michigan and Minnesota. The last 6 games are huge. 2 against OSU too. The tie dropped them from 17 to 19 in the pairwise...so really they are about 5 spots out. They should have about 5 goals in the second period...so many missed opportunities and the penalty shot call was incredibly weak, but regardless, they didn't play well enough defensively to win.
  23. At the badger game tonight and I'm not sure I've ever seen such bad dzone plays. BLTs and pathetic turnovers.
  24. I just don't see it. Been rumblings about this for years. Defense is obviously part of the moves we've made. Keeping Santana doesn't align with what appears to be the team's vision. I'm still confident Santana gets traded, and Braun stays in the outfield. But who knows at this point. I am not saying it's a good idea or a poor one, but I feel like I remember Braun saying something about moving wherever the team needed him to play.
