  1. True, but I'm still not convinced that he tagged him.
  2. True. Is that are a large enough sample for us to make a judgement? Honest question. Also, pretty sure they never tagged Domingo and for some reason that wasn't challenged. Although he seems like he agrees with it.
  3. Which makes his OPS such an overrated joke of an argument. Who cares that his slugging percentage is so high when his 29 home runs are almost all solo shots? Well, it is more than just home runs that lead to slugging.
  4. Turn it on just it time to see Walker called out on a pathetic strike 3.
  5. really terrible. The strike zone?... Oh oh, the tats. Yes.
  6. To be fair, the pitch Aguilar swung at was called a strike in the first pitch of the next at bat.
  7. It really is incredible how much time he has seen this year.
  8. David Gruber really likes to move his head when he talks.
  9. It seems like that is typical Wisconsin football. Beat the average and below average teams close(closeish)...play the big boys tight win or lose.
  10. Fyi, it says that link is members only when I click it.
  11. This is the equivalent of saying "It would be fine if one league permitted players to run over the catcher and the other didn't, because catchers can still be injured either way." How many of those AL pitcher injuries were related to hitting or baserunning? Don't know how many there's been in the NL but I can think of 2 just on this team. 3...guerra, Anderson, nelson
  12. Is he though? April is the only thing keeping Thames from being worse than Carter last year. Carter - .222/.321/.499 Thames from May-now - .207/.316/.429 I figured that would be true, but you can't take away a month's worth of stats when comparing the two. Now, if you think that his true line is more in line with may til now...id agree with you, but I don't think his line this year is worse than Carter's last year...yet.
  13. I never knew that the Cheeseheads were actually made for a Brewer game and not a Packer game. #random
  14. Im confused, who was the 31 year old they kept?
  15. I didn't say RBI shouldn't be important to any one person, but I think it has been shown time and time again that using RBI to compare one player to another is a pretty poor way to do so. No? Maybe using the word judge was wrong, but to compare two players seems silly.
  16. It would be nice if you didn't always use counting stats to make an argument, but since you did. Thames has 66 walks in 150 less plate appearances, so those are probably about even. Yes, he has 21 doubles to Carters 27...but he also has 4 triples to Carters 1. All of this is in 150 less plate appearances. To say that Thames is less productive than Carter last year is wrong in my opinion. Carter did bash a lot more home runs and drove in more runners, but is that Thames' fault that he had a black hole hitting in front of him for much of the year(Villar), especially in his hot April? Also, he was batting 2nd much of the year. So, he had Arcia(before he started hitting well),the pitcher, and Villar in front of him most of the time. So please, do not use RBI as a way to judge a players worth.
  17. Yea, I have been a bit surprised with the lineups the last few days. He HAS to have Villar playing CF, but then doesnt play him at 2B and instead trots Perez out there. Odd to me.
  18. He has been pitching the edges most of the game. Not a lot in the middle. He has pitched well.
  19. Marlins have been playing good ball lately... Also, 22 wins puts us at 90 wins for the season. Do you think it will take 90 to make the playoffs? That seems high to me. Not saying you are wrong, just curious about your thoughts on that one. The Cubs seem to be coming alive at the right time. Moreover, their remaining schedule is pretty light. They have 31 remaining games. 15 are against the Braves, Pirates, Mets, Rays, and Reds. I'd put the over under on their win total at about 20. That would give them 91 wins. Good call. I am surely hoping they dont go 20-11 to end the year.
