  1. Clubhouse chemistry is important. He would be a risk in that department. With how fragile the team seemed to be last year when Hader was moved, might they need a cry closet if they add a knob like Donaldson this late in the season? I get it, he could possibly bring a little lightning in the bottle, but he could also, just as easily, create havoc. I mean, we have Black, just sitting there waiting, I am going out on a limb and saying he would be just as good as anything Donaldson can do, if not a lot better.
  2. A gross, desperate, and ridiculous idea. Bring up Black, end of story.
  3. How can it be that one team can pick up multiple guys? Shouldn't it be pick one, then it moves up the line? Totally stupid.
  4. 3 game lead is just not enough to feel confident yet. We are still going to have to learn to score some runs, it isn't rocket science. The last two games are perfect examples of the fact that even with great pitching, we just aren't going to win games when it counts, against other teams with great pitching, unless we can score some freaking runs. It's maddening.
  5. Do you guys ever tire of complaining about the umps. I sure tire of reading about them.
  6. I'm sure one of our fanatic stat guys will fact check me on this, but it sure seems like Burnes gets really really really low run support everytime he takes the mound.
  7. I wouldn't risk team chemistry for this idiot.
  8. c'mon man. Bader has sucked this year, badly.
  9. Screw winning 1 or 2 from this series! I WANT THEM ALL!
  10. He would know, since he's a Cubs fan and all...
  11. I agree, they aren't just going to let him walk without a fight. I wish we had taken the chance on him to be honest, but we got our man in Luke Voit!!!
  12. Right now, there are 14 of 27 thread titles on the main page that are articles. It's just too much. I'm to the point now where I am just ignoring articles all together, and sifting through to find thread titles that are not articles...
  13. Well, speaking for myself, we've done the playoff thing pretty frequently the last decade. Anything short of the World Series will be disappointing. I don't feel we have the hitting to take us there, much less win it, so this is not saying that I feel like we should. At some point, this organization has to get past the '82 series appearance as our high water mark. This won't be that year, but the fan in me will still be disappointed if it doesn't happen.
  14. I just have to do this... It's "One call, that's all" There, I feel better. :)
  15. Yup, but is he as good as all the youngsters? It doesn't really matter, we have a lot of guys who are great outfielders, it stands to reason you pick the guy whose defense wouldn't hurt us out there by moving him to another position. That would be Yelich.
  16. I think Goldy is being overvalued here. He seems to be starting the downside of his career if you ask me. Plus, I have him on a fantasy team, and he has been pretty disappointing.
  17. Well, Frelick, Wiemer, Chourio, and Mitchell are all great defensively in the OF, Yelich just isn't. It would be a waste to start any of those 4 at 1B given their OF capabilities. Yelich is the obvious choice to make the transition. Not sure if Taylor has ever played there in the minors, but I doubt it.
  18. We are about to embark on a bonafied Outfield logjam in the very near future. I am assuming we will start 2024 out with Wiemer, Frelick, Mitchell, Yelich and Taylor. That's 5 guys right there who are going to need regular reps. This list doesn't even include Chourio, who is going to be knocking hard on the outfield door as soon as next year in spring training. Then what? Do we continue to play Yelich in LF, knowing full well that all the other guys I listed above are superior defensively? Add Chourio to that list, and we have 6 outfielders who deserve regular playing time. There simply isn't room for them all. Do we trade a guy like Taylor in the offseason? How about Wiemer, is he a guy you field offers for? It's a nice problem to have, but then again, it's also going to be an issue if things continue as they are now. If Yelich is open to it, playing him at 1B is ideal as long as he can legitimately field the position. 4-5 games a week at 1B, the others at DH seems like a great plan!
  19. This thread is just like politics. Doesn't matter what is said, no one is going to change their mind. I don't understand how anyone can be against giving him a try, I mean, what we've done all season hasn't really worked, sooooo... But like I said, people don't change their minds, everyone is prepared to die on their hill, so the fact that this is still going on is kind of funny to me.
  20. Holy crap man, you were willing to give up up all those guys for Alonso alone? I am 100% thankful you are not our gM/owner.
  21. Gray is actually having a nice rebound year in Appleton... I’m a big fan of Gray and his incredible raw tools, but his OPS is lower this year than it was in 2022 with a .193 BA. I hope he can put things together again the way he seemed to in the first half of ‘21. I think you might be looking at something totally different than reality. His batting average is .245, not .193. His OPS is .682, last year it was .632. Is he a world beater, nope, but he has shown improvement in most offensive categories over last year. I think you’re looking at just his A+ stats, where ARob was quoting his full season line which includes 39 PAs in AA hitting 054/103/081. Reaching base safely in all five plate appearances yesterday now bumped his OPS slightly above what it was last season and he has shown some improvement at A+, but with his nightmare stint in Biloxi and this being his third year in Appleton it is somewhat worrisome.
  22. My favorite band of all freaking time! So yes to your question! lol (original member band, not the cover band they are using today)
  23. He's actually had some pretty nice games this year, not so much today though.
