  1. I'm curious why this board is still here. There is no interest in this concept at all, yet here it is. The Trading Post once thrived (I was sad to see it go), then went as dead as this board and it got removed. Not really complaining, just wondering why this board is still here when obviously no one has any interest. Every thread on this website ends up being a debate, so I'm pretty sure that is the reason this has failed.
  2. May sure is hurt a lot though. If he would be the center piece of a trade with the Dodgers, that trade could go south quickly if he continues on his injury trend.
  3. We knew we weren't going to be able to pay him, so we traded him. Why has this changed? We still can't pay him, so we'd have to trade a bunch of top prospects for a guy we can only use for 2 months. As badly as we need bats, it would be foolish to trade prospects for a 2 month rental RP when we so desperately need to score runs. So no, we shouldn't bring him back.
  4. We need a roster shake-up. So tired of Rowdy.
  5. Agree! If anyone hasn't been to Glacier, do it!
  6. I'm sure you had a lot of great things to say, but that post is just plain not readable.
  7. I hope you are right, but like I said, we won't have room for two great catchers, one is going to have to go at some point. I'm not trading Quero, nope, not me, but what will the Brewers do?
  8. It seems some like to argue for the sake of arguing. Hiura more than likely, with great probability, will outperform all the garbage we've tried at DH this season, yet there are people so hung up on his K% (even though he has improved that stat immensely this year at AAA), his defensive inflexibility, etc., that they can't understand that his only role on the team would and should be as our every day DH. It's that simple. Bring the kid back up, tell him he will be the daily DH, and go with it. I know what CC will do, and so do many others here. He will get brought up, get 2 or 3 starts a week, probably against lefties, which he struggles with, then everyone will jump on his back saying how horrible he is, and "see, he sucks!". It's happened before, and I see it happening again once he gets the call. It's almost like CC and the organization want him to fail for some weird reason. Do I think they want him to fail, no. Yet they continue to put him in situations that do not allow him to reach his potential. I think what we have done to him mentally is a baseball crime. It's asinine. If we aren't going to use him, I truly hope they find a trade partner who can see some value in him, even if it means we get peanuts in return.
  9. So I am assuming you are completely done with Hiura as a Brewer? Many others seem to be as well. I think the kid deserves another shot. If he fails miserably this time, cut ties.
  10. I'm done with Rowdy. I hope it isn't him. Urias in the same boat, just bad at baseball, both of them.
  11. This is how I see it happening. 2024, in a late August or early September call up, Quero becomes our number two catcher. Still have 3 years left on the Contreras contract. 2025, Contreras remains our starting catcher, but Quero steals a couple games per week, and occasionally is used in the DH role if his bat plays like I think it will. after 2025, 2 years left on the Contreras contract, 5 left on Quero. There won't be a lot of room for DH at bats since Yelich should start to see some regular at bats at DH due to the fact our outfield is full of youth! (Mitchell, Wiemer, Frelick, and Chourio) 2026, With Quero more than ready to handle the full catcher load (and 5 years left of control), Contreras is dealt in the off season with 2 years left on his contract. They could still hold both catchers (dealing Contreras at the deadline rather than the off season) but there just won't be room for their at bats since Yelich will be close to full time DHing at this point, and our outfield jammed with talent, there won't be a lot of at bats left at DH for one of our two slugging catchers. Of course, these are just my thoughts, and I'm going to guess we will be trading one of our outfielders not named Chourio at some point before the logjam really takes effect.
  12. We are going to have a problem at catcher in the near future. With Quero knocking on the door probably next season (after all star break or late season call up), and Contreras locked in for another 4 years, there won't be room for two quality catchers. With Yelich moving to DH (it's going to happen sooner or later) my fear is that we will try and get cute and trade Quero, only because there just won't be room for two top notch catchers.
  13. JasonWang, Any way you can put the position of the player drafted in the thread title?
  14. How can this even happen. To call a balk, there has to be a reason to think there was a balk to begin with. I can see how the umps might miss an actual balk happening, but to just call a balk on a pitch that was obviously not even there to call is beyond ridiculous. You will never see me ******** about the umps, this board does it on a constant basis, but that was just plain garbage.
  15. I am 100% shocked that Uribe is pitching more than an inning here...
  16. Turang's defense is on another planet!
  17. Ok, that isn't how I read it...
  18. I HIGHLY doubt we oust Williams from the closer role this season unless he completely melts down at some point. I can see Abner as a closer in the future, but not as long as Williams is on this roster.
  19. I can't muster up hate for the Pirates either. They have been bad for so long, they just haven't mattered. Hate for the Cardinals runs deep though, and the Cubs as well, but not on the Cardinals level.
  20. The Abner Uribe era has begun! Go get 'em kid!
  21. They still have a top prospect (Christian Encarnacion-Strand) just waiting in the minors but there isn't room for him. (They have been playing him in the OF though in AAA) Wish we had even close to this kind of excitement on the Brewers.
  22. This Reds team, if they acquire some pitching at the deadline, is going to be scary. I'm going to bet they try to add that pitching at the deadline. Anyone who is still on the "the Reds always suck and we don't have to worry about them" train might want to jump off.
  23. I'm not giving up Black or Quero for Alonso. 1.5 years of a guy who isn't enough to push us over the edge is an overpay, severely. Hold on to Black, Quero, Chourio, and Frelick and be happy as hell we did 2 years from now. One player like Goldy or Alonso isn't going to be enough of a difference maker to get us deep into the playoffs. It's going to take at least another top bat for us to have a chance.
