  1. I don't know why the Brewers are fighting having Black at 2B, which is pretty much what he was until last year. If Turang is our SS of the future (a big IF due to his bat) then why not groom Black as our 2B and let Wilken play his natural position at 3B. Why is this becoming so complicated. Black at 2B, Turang at SS, Wilken at 3B and find a 1B for once...
  2. What a clown show. It's too bad every team doesn't just bow out and make him sweat until spring training... I mean, obviously, that isn't going to happen, but these idiot teams stumbling all over themselves to see who will make the biggest mistake is just whacko. Just get it done already so the rest of the market can start to play out. Not even sure why anything hinges on this guy. The amount of money only involves what, 3 teams realistically, why does he have anything to do with a guy like Hoskins signing, or the other free agent pitchers for that matter. Different stratospheres. If the Dodgers do or don't get him, why would that matter on a decision to trade for Burnes? Burnes will require minor league capitol (and a small amount of cash in Dodger money to pay this year's salary), and I'm pretty sure the Dodgers are going to go for 2 stud pitchers anyway. So if they do or don't get him, they will probably still come after Burnes.
  3. But imagine a Turang at SS and IKF at 2B infield on a daily basis... Kind of makes me sick to my stomach to think about.
  4. Doesn't matter who gets him, they will regret it at some point. This is just ridiculous sick money. He has to realize that the team that signs him will be seriously hampered in the future from signing other top free agents, thus, hurting his chances at a World Series Championship. Serves him and the team right.
  5. Signing this guy worries me. Pretty much means we are going to punt an infield position if Adames is traded. The only silver lining is now that CC is gone, there would be no chance of CC falling in love with him and playing him every single day. I REALLY hope this doesn't happen, truly really hope...
  6. I think Wilken is being fast tracked. My bet is that he comes up late 2024, and if not, is on the starting roster in 2025. I have a lot of faith in this kid.
  7. All I know is that I don't want to trade either of them... I do think Wilken is going to push his way onto this roster either at the end of 2024, or surely at the beginning of 2025.
  8. No way do I trade Frelick, but I'd trade Mitchell or Wiemer if the situation was right.
  9. He's just another guy that is equal to taking your cousin to prom. I want nothing to do with IKF.
  10. Which, in all likelihood, takes us out of the running. If we have to fall back with Santana, it could be a lot worse. If the Brewers have even thought about Hoskins, they better get on it soon, if they wait too long thinking they can get Santana after someone else grabs Hoskins, they may be out of luck if the Pirates are chasing him down.
  11. Maybe, but he also saw dollar signs, that just can't be denied.
  12. Wow, again... The players motives are obvious, more money, more money, more money, and BorASS gets them that, plus takes small market teams out of the running for any of the top free agents from the get go.
  13. Wow, you may be the first person I have ever seen that is pro BorASS. The only thing I see BorASS as is the guy who makes it close to impossible for a small market be it cheap team to sign star players. He squeaks every last dollar out of every contract, taking teams like the Brewers out of any chance of signing big name free agents. I will give him no credit for being anything other than a detriment to MLB.
  14. The issue I have with this is when that defensive vet catcher does play, he provides nothing in the line-up, and for an already challenged line up, it just provides another 3-4 outs per game. Meh, I get it, 12 million is 12 million, but the constant penny pinching just gets frustrating. (Yes, I know, small market, blah blah blah)
  15. I don't see why the Brewers couldn't have matched that price. You have him as your back up in 2024, and if need be (because of Quero) you trade him in 2025. To me, that is a great price for what he offers, especially if we plan to hang onto Burnes this year (which will be ridiculous if it happens). I mean, I realize we can probably get a journeyman vet for a lot less, but we know what we have in Caratini and he isn't a black hole in the lineup when he plays. So much still up in the air for the 2024 season...
  16. How can you not like this signing. Welcome back Wade! Again...
  17. Figures. That would be the icing on the cake, lose Counsell to them (I don't really care that he left, but I do care that is was the Cubs that got him), then they sign the one free agent that both fits our needs and that we could probably afford to pay.
  18. Really wondering if we have at the very least kicked the tires on this guy? If not, have we spoken to Santana about a possible return in 2024? Just really hope we are addressing 1B...
  19. The only way I'd rank Adames above Chourio as a top hitter on the team is if Adames has a hell of a lot better year this year than his last two. I'm putting Chourio as our #3 best hitter behind Contreras and Yelich, and I'm not even sure he should be behind Yelich. I'd even go as far as to say Black will be a better hitter than Adames this year, dropping Adames to our 5th best hitter.
  20. Great thought, but then they would only be replacing GR with Burnes instead of adding to him in their rotation. I like that thought though!
  21. Burnes and Williams for Jackson Holliday. A lot to give up, and the O's would have to at the very least think about it, right? Adding an Ace and MLB's best closer in one deal! Losing the career of Holliday though, they wouldn't do it. Imagine Chourio and Holliday for the next 8 years! Dreaming is free!
