  1. Tired of the Bush show. He needs to go back to the Penal league and figure out how to not serve up the gopher balls. CC, take his ass out now, no need to continue the damage. Bush sucks.
  2. Burnes keeps pitching like this, he will be begging US for an extension. This is disheartening, we need this guy to be our ace, he's pitching like a #4-5. If his injury is not a factor, then this is pretty pathetic.
  3. Ok, but at that rate, he is taking almost 50 games off. I'm fine with 25 even 30 off from catching, but he needs to see more days at DH when not catching.
  4. Kind of... See post above.
  5. I have a massive dvd collection that I am trying to thin down. I started watching them alphabetically a while back, and am only keeping the ones that I view as "good enough to keep." Basically meaning, will I ever want to invest the time to see it again. So, in answering your question, yes, I am only watching movies that start with "A" until I get to the "B" movies.
  6. Frelick just hit the IL himself, but seems minor.
  7. All the Right Moves - Classic 80's movie! I still enjoy this one! A very young Tom Cruise and a very young Lea Thompson just being an 80's babe... Animal House - Classic! Not one of my top movies of all time, but still worth the watch if there are any young people here that haven't seen it yet... So many classic lines that you still hear today. Any Given Sunday - A disturbing take on the NFL without mentioning the NFL. I remember when this movie came out. It ruined a lot of things about the game for me...
  8. The sooner that team moves the better...
  9. The trading post forum was awesome when people were using it, but over the years, it just plain ol' died. What a shame it is now gone.
  10. I retired from teaching high school in June at 57 years old. 33 years in that profession and by the end, I couldn't get out fast enough. Talk about a profession that has changed during my career...and not for the good. I very much pity any new teacher these days, but then again, they don't know any better, they just know what the profession is like now. I can't imagine anyone lasting 30+ years in the current teaching climate. So anyway, I got out, and couldn't be happier. My wife still has 3 years to go, but she still enjoys it. We will probably move to wherever my daughter and her husband are in 3 years to be near our future grand kids. My wife also thinks we will be moving to a warm climate for the winter months, but I am not too keen on that idea. I enjoy the Wisconsin seasons, even though I am not a winter sports enthusiast. (snowmobile, ice fishing, etc) I have kicked around the idea of getting a simple meaningless part time job, the kind you punch in and punch out and don't think about again until you show up for your next shift. Haven't talked myself into it just yet, but at some point, will find a little something to keep me busy. I actually applied to, and was offered a job in a local small business setting, but when I found out the pay was $10 an hour, and I had to work every other weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, I had to pass. I am far past the point of working for next to no pay and especially if that means working on weekends, which is now the only time each week I get to spend time with my wife. Would have been a fun job though... One job that I refuse to do is subbing. If I wanted to remain in teaching, I wouldn't have left. Subbing is probably one of the worst jobs on the planet, and if I wanted to teach I would have continued my real job. I felt a little guilty at first since subs are almost impossible to find for every district in the state, but I got over that quickly. I laugh at all the people who tell me they are bored in retirement. That is sooooo far from my reality it isn't even funny. I LOVE being retired, coming and going as I please, answering to no one (but my wife occasionally lol), just plain being on my own is joyous! I joined the local Y and am back in shape. Hadn't touched a weight in 25 years, so it was hard getting back into it, but now that I am seeing results, it is awesome. It is impossible for me to be bored. There is always something to do and if not, going to the movies or watching my massive DVD collection is always an option. Retirement is a gift that a lot of people get very little of because they didn't plan properly. We have been putting money away since the day we were married and it as paid off. Anyone out there still reading, PUT MONEY AWAY for retirement! Start with your first paycheck, even if that means you only put $25 per check into a fund. You can always do more when you have more. It all adds up!
  11. I'd be pretty hesitant to trade Black for a rental... Black could very well be our future 2B for a long damn time.
  12. I will not be surprised in the least if he is either done for the season, or comes back in August at the earliest. Shoulders...
  13. This has been a really fun team to watch so far! They have some hitters!!!!! I don't think Robert Moore will be in Appleton long, he is a man playing with boys at the moment!
  14. And where does that get us exactly? A wild card playoff appearance? A possible division championship and an early playoff exit? I get it, we need those things if we are going to have a chance, but this offensive line-up will not take us to the world series without a stellar year from our entire pitching staff.
  15. Well, technically, we DID keep him...
  16. Probably the Cubs, Cardinals, Pirates or Reds so Keston can be a Brewer killer for the next 5 years. Honestly, seeing him with the Cubs or Cards would be be icing on the cake.
  17. Watched ALIVE yesterday. That is a movie that will make you think about a lot of things. If you haven't watched it for some unknown reason, do it! Re-watched both Anchorman movies last weekend. Though both are entertaining and have their moments, I feel like they have been elevated above where they should be on the "great" movie scale... Still worth the watch. Tried to sit through Dudley Moore's ARTHUR today. Made it through about 20 minutes, and that was enough. Not sure why that one ever made my collection to begin with, but it's a goner now.
  18. Has anyone seen Wednesday? Is it worth my time?
  19. My son who just completed his grad work at the University of Montana, just got his first real job in the same state. He absolutely loves it there, so this was good news. (Not that I like him being that far away, but it is what it is. It's a beautiful state, so even though we've already been there twice, I'm sure there are a few more trips to follow)
  20. This is always my complaint t Brewers games, it's a constant thing and annoying as hell. I also love actually missing game action while people are standing, shuffling along in the rows in front of me, on their way out (or back in) to get food, use restrooms, or whatever. Back in the day, the ushers didn't let you go back to your seat until the inning ended or between half innings. Wish they would start doing this again.
  21. I am paying less than $100 per month with TDS. That includes cable, internet, and landline phone. Same exact package (except I don't get the AMC channel) with spectrum was $250. Dropped them like a hot potato as soon as TDS hit our area. Price is guaranteed for 2 years, at which point it will probably double, then I will go and get spectrum again for their low introductory price, and so forth... Competition is great!
  22. CHAMPIONS was a good flick. Nothing new and groundbreaking, but a really decent feel good flick!
  23. Yeah, I don't see a problem with this at all. It is relevant to the original thread.
