    New Music

Speaking of local bands, I am in eager anticipation of something new from WHIPS. Love them!
  2. I admit that I was not the happiest with the trade. I didn't care about Brinson, just seemed like a big bust candidate to me at the time. Diaz and Harrison played in Appleton, I grew fond of them, and losing the two of them at the time really bothered me. Yamamoto was never a throw in type player in my eyes, he also played in Appleton, so I got to see him pitch several times. I thought he would probably top out as a #3, and hated to see him go as well. In retrospect, it was a more than great trade for us, no matter what happens with those 4 guys we traded away for Yelich. I don't see how anyone can possibly see otherwise... Yelich was an actual MVP, not a candidate, but an actual MVP and is putting up the same type of numbers for a second year in a row. We won the trade, simple as hat.
  3. Actually, there is just as much sex, if not more, in Game of Thrones if you want to be honest about it... lol
  4. Yes, it's really good. For whatever reason I never finished the series, I started watching season 4 but only watched 3 or 4 episodes and never went back. It was good though, more my fault for letting it slip out of my consciousness. I'm pretty lazy about keeping up with tv shows sometimes and it's not the show's fault. So many good characters though, Jack Rackham is my favorite. Yeah, I actually watched season one and 2 when we had Starz in our cable package, then lost track of it. Starting over, and like it more now than the first time I saw it. Glad there are two seasons I haven't seen yet, will be that much more fun after season 1 and 2...
  5. Black Sails Anyone watched this series from a few years back on Starz? I finished Game of Thrones and went straight into Black Sails, and so far, I love it! (just finished season one)
  6. I buy all my favorite TV Shows on dvd. I just like knowing that I own them, and if I want to see them, at anytime, I can. They have become so cheap in the past couple of years, I can't see not owning them.
  7. A couple of obvious questions regarding Game of Thrones: 1. Did no one worry about, or catch STDs? I would think STDs would be running wild at that time, given behaviors. 2. I'm assuming that during those times, women didn't shave their entire bodies, yet on the show, they were always hairless. These are just thoughts.
  8. *shaking head*
  9. agreed, and since our return was so low, I don't think any other team thinks he will be worth anything either. *sigh* Disappointing.
  10. Then we agree to disagree... I don't really care what cinemascore says, or any other publication, I thought it was not that great. It was just ok for me.
  11. Has anyone seen Yesterday?
  12. Spiderman Far From Home was ok... Slightly disappointing. The non-stop action CEI, tech scenes were just so long at times. My least favorite of the new Spiderman movies for sure.
  13. About Stranger Things, haven't seen season 3 yet, will there be a season 4, or did they wrap things up?
  14. Nice! Glad I have that to look forward to yet. On season 6 of GoT and the hits just keep coming! lol I so missed the boat on this show all these years... What episode are you on? Season 6 is my favorite. Last two episodes of that season are probably the best television I've ever watched. Episode 9 is so well done, choreographed, filmed, tense, gut wrenching, mind blowing. When it ends you think, how could any episode ever top that? And yeah, you missed out. Theories, cliffhangers, watching each new episode a couple of times to really soak everything in before the next Sunday. General talking with friends that are also watching. But you didn't miss out on waiting for long, long stretches between seasons especially towards the end. Just finished episode 2 last night. Quite the finish to that episode. On a side note, I don't think I would have thought I'd want anyone dead as bad as I wanted King Jeffrey dead, but Ramsey has proved me wrong! I sure hope he gets his, and I hope it is slow and painful...
  15. Nice! Glad I have that to look forward to yet. On season 6 of GoT and the hits just keep coming! lol I so missed the boat on this show all these years...
  16. Yamamoto just keeps rolling along... Jordan Yamamoto was outstanding in a no-decision against the Braves on Friday, striking out seven over six shutout innings. The right-hander scattered just two hits and three walks on the night. The 23-year-old has been phenomenal through his first five starts with the Marlins, registering a 1.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 30/15 K/BB ratio across 29 innings. Jul 6, 2019, 12:59 AM ET
  17. The outcome of that episode was fantastic. I was rooting for that outcome since being introduced to that character. Can't wait to see the effects on the rest of the season/series. I used to make fun of all the GoT fans around me, now I get it!
  18. Yeah, I am now 2 episodes into season 4. I have had some really late nights, but hard to turn it off. Glad I'm a teacher, I have some free time during the summer. My wife is not watching with me, surely a good choice on her part, she isn't a fan of the blood gore and violence. The show is just so engaging, and the multiple storylines are great, there is always something going on someplace. I can't believe how often they kill off main characters though. It exhausting.
  19. Sure you can! I did! Nope, there is no way, just finished season 3.....wow!
  20. Finished season 2 of GoT and am 4 episodes into season 3. Can't quit now!
  21. Just finished season one of GoT. I'm into it...
  22. Still, it appears that all 4 of these guys stand a chance of being at least MLB regulars. Highly unlikely that all 4 are MLB regulars. Unlikely, but totally possible. The crown jewel of that trade, Lewis Brinson, looks like the only bust of the bunch.
  23. Marlins recalled RHP Jordan Yamamoto from Double-A Jacksonville. Yamamoto will make his major league debut Wednesday night against the Cardinals. He's filling in for Jose Urena, who hit the injured list in a corresponding 25-man roster move with a lower back strain. Yamamoto, acquired from the Brewers in the Christian Yelich trade, had registered a 3.58 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 64/25 K/BB ratio through 65 1/3 innings (12 starts) this season at the Double-A level. The 23-year-old should carry some deep-league fantasy appeal. Jun 12, 2019, 2:59 PM ET Really liked this guy while he was in Appleton. He, Isan Diaz and Monte Harrison are going to help this Marlins team eventually, possibly as early as next year when all 3 of them will hit the MLB squad. Not sure if Brinson will ever pan out, but I truly think the other 3 will...
  24. Almost done with season 2 of Westworld. Meh. Starting season 1 of Game of Thrones next. I am that guy, the one who has never seen a single episode of GoT. That is about to change.
  25. Rocket Man is NOT a must see movie... In fact, I'd rather have my money back. About half way through, I started thinking about what I was going to do when I left the theatre. Started watching the clock, waiting for it to be over. Borefest.
