  1. You mean outright CUT Perkins? Yeah, I don't think that would be too wise.
  2. I just don't think our starting pitching is going to get the job done. Freddy goes down, we are screwed. I think we could win anywhere between 76 - 84 games, but for 84 to happen, a lot of things are going to have to go right. A couple more key losses for any length of time could really hurt us. Final prediction is 79 wins.
  3. Would love to know how he would have handled Hiura and his reverse splits...
  4. Wonder if we are going to go scrap heap hunting for another OFer in the next couple of days?
  5. I can't watch Wiemer flail around again, I just can't. He needs to stay in AAA if at all possible, but now that is looking unlikely unless they sign someone else from the scrapheap. Maybe Black gets his shot as an OFer?
  6. ahhhh yes, totally forgot about that... I wouldn't sign him, but it would have nothing to do with this.
  7. Please explain "moralists." Did Davies get into some trouble? I am unable to find anything like that.
  8. Well, Yelich, Chourio, Frelick would be our only outfielders if Perkins doesn't make it (assuming Mitchell is going to be out for a while) Wiemer hasn't earned a spot, and is far better suited to stay in AAA until injuries happen, which they will... You can't go in to the season with only 3 outfielders on your roster...It's either Perkins or Wiemer.
  9. I fully agree. Originally, I was hoping just after the all star break, but it could be a lot sooner than that!
  10. I'm just not buying Frelick as a full time 3B. I don't see it happening, in fact, what I see happening is after several bad errors/mistakes, they rethink this decision, and he goes back to the outfield on a regular basis. I want nothing more than to be wrong, but I just don't think you can take a guy who has only played OF since high school, and turn him into a MLB 3B during spring training.
  11. Fun game today, glad it was televised!
  12. So, I think it is safe to assume that Wiemer will not start on the opening day roster, but is Mitchell a lock? Yelich, Chourio, Frelick and Mitchell? If Mitchell is on the opening day roster, I think it's pretty important that he gets to play on a regular basis. I'm sure Yelich will DH a game a week, Sal might get a start or two at 3B, so that leaves what, 3 starts a week for Mitchell? That's not enough... Will Yelich DH 2 times a week, upping Mitchell's playing time to 4 games a week? Will Chourio get a day off a week? Not a fan of that either... I know there are other scenarios, but I think that Sal, Mitchell and Chourio need to play every day with the occasional day off.
  13. yup, this.
  14. Don't want to rain on your parade, but that price hike might catch up to you next time since you accident happened in December. Maybe not, but I don't trust anything insurance companies say or do, nothing.
  15. Tigers reassigned INF Keston Hiura to minor league camp. Huira finished spring camp going 10-for-31 (.323 AVG) with two home runs and nine RBI — one of those home runs was a grand slam against Toronto. The 27-year-old infielder finished with an impressive .966 OPS during the spring, but with the Tigers’ infield depth, Huira will likely spend the majority of his 2024 campaign in the minors.
  16. Wait, you are saying that 50% of pro athletes end up going broke? Yeah, I think that is probably really inaccurate.
  17. Good, teach these guys some lessons, including Boras.
  18. That would be a pretty strange thing to joke about. I think Murphy meant what he said.
  19. ...and noodles in chili is just freaking weird. Moved to the Fox Valley in 1992, first time I ever saw noodles in chili and to this day, it is just not right.
  20. TURBO

    Pizza

They both cook perfectly in my convection oven... Haven't used the regular oven in years to cook a frozen pizza.
  21. Keston Hiura DETFirst Baseman#18 Keston Hiura hit a grand slam to help lead the Tigers to a 9-6 win over the Blue Jays on Friday. Hiura is doing everything he can to make the Tigers’ 40-man this season, but it just might not be enough. He’s hit home runs in two of his past four games with both of those bringing home at least three runners. The 27-year-old is likely to be stashed in the Tigers’ farm system, but he showed some promise last season with the Brewers slashing .226/.316./.449 with 14 home runs and 32 RBI in 266 plate appearances.
  22. All the talk of Black being involved has pretty much ended it appears. Damn, really wanted to see how his bat played at the MLB level, I guess we'll just have to wait.
