  1. So Urias can play 1B? Looks like in that scenario, Rowdy would never sit since Urias doesn't play 1B, nor do any of the others you mentioned. I don't like the idea of having a good bat sitting on the bench every 5 games. Ramirez should never sit barring injury, same with Adames and Wong. Wasting a bat like any of them just doesn't seem like a good plan. I know guys need a day off now and again, but a plan like that means they all see bench time every 5 games?
  2. There was a lot of insane in that post, but Hosmer? Eric Hosmer? nope.
  3. That means absolutely nothing. It's an opinion, or lots of opinions on how he handled the playoffs. we could all write our own pieces and they would all hold as much value as what was written above.
  4. Or we have an in house option with Taylor to play LF/RF. As long as that doesn't mean JBJ gets more playing time...
  5. I can only imagine how much money they lost in the pandemic 2020 season, I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't do them in, however, if it isn't a moneymaker, and they sold, who would buy it if they knew they would lose money. There is a ton of money to be made there, which is why they found buyers so quickly. Again, you can't convince me that they lose money in a normal season.
  6. You can't convince me that Minor League Baseball doesn't make money... Watching the T-Rats year after year, and the $ that fans spend there, there is not a chance they lose money, in fact, I bet they make a ton! If the minors were losing money hand over fist, then yes, I could see MLB dropping it all together, but that just can't be the case in most instances. Are there markets that draw more people and make more money than others? Sure, just like MLB...
  7. Ok, but we can't just sit on that as a way to do business either. I think it's ridiculous to want Counsell gone, but Haines is 100% justifiable. Not getting rid of someone because we might hire someone who isn't any better is a strange way to think imo. If that is the case, the ones doing the hiring need to rethink how they run the show.
  8. Updated list...
  9. Urias can take 2B after Wong leaves, we only have Wong for 2022, correct?
  10. Don't forget about Keston, I refuse to believe the kid is done!
  11. However, it does work for some teams (Dodgers) so obviously, if you have stupid money to spend, and you spend it in the right places, it can work... the dodgers won the NL west 8 years in a row before they got anywhere. their last ws title was 1988, so spending stupid money "can" work, but this idea that you have to spend money or you're not trying that keeps getting thrown out there is silly and honestly, wrong. I agree, just saying, it can and does work at times.
  12. However, it does work for some teams (Dodgers) so obviously, if you have stupid money to spend, and you spend it in the right places, it can work...
  13. Tom "The REAL GOAT" Brady has to be in this conversation, and as of today, he has to be the leading candidate.
  14. I honestly think they should extend his contract, before the 2022 season if at all possible.
  15. The T-Rats still did this as of a few years ago, not sure if they still do or not...
  16. How many World series have they played in in that time?? Also, how many LCS's have they even appeared in in those years. I know your a big "stats/analytical" guy so I'm assuming you can provide the answer to this?? In the past five seasons the Dodgers have been in 3 World Series, the Astros 2 WS and the Red Sox, Nationals & Rays have been in one WS each. If the baseline for being a serious contender is making the WS, then there are only five teams out of 30 that fit the criteria. I don't think the other 25 teams are just out here goofing around. As far as CS spots go you've got HOU (5), LAD (4), ATL (2), BOS (2), NYY (2), TBR (1), WAS (1), STL (1), CHC (1) and MIL (1). So only five teams with more WS appearances and only five teams with more CS appearances than the Brewers over the last five years. Don't take this the wrong way, but your posts always remind me of politicians. They can spin anything they want by providing numbers that fit their narrative, but in the end, it just feels hollow. Yes the past few years have provided a much improved Brewers team, especially compared to anything previous, but they have still failed to win the World Series, which is the ultimate measure of success to the fans. I don't really care how we compare to other teams as far as appearances in the play-offs, NLCS or World Series, the fact remains, we have not been able to win the World Series, much less get there. Again, I don't really care to compare to other team's success because I simply don't place any importance on other team's success. The Brewers are the only team in MLB that I care about, so I base their success or lack of, on them alone.
  17. Except for providing the majority of the offense in the play-offs of course.
  18. Also been enjoying "Longmire" Was always on my list, but never got around to seeing it.
  19. I have been re-watching "The League" recently... Such a funny show...
  20. You "happen to think" that neither JBJ or Avi exercise their option? That doesn't make it factual, you are basing a lot of your numbers on what you "think" will happen, and not giving the Brewers a chance to decide what they will do if what you "think" happens, happens. I happen to "think" that Garcia walks, and JBJ stays. We won't know who is right until it happens. You also "think" there is a possibility that Cain retires. Based on what? Yup, that would free up some cash, a lot of it, but again, these are your thoughts, and until something like that happens, that money is tied up, not being sent to another 20 million bat. He would be crazy to leave that kind of money on the table. As much as I'd like him to retire, I don't see it happening. "See how easy that is?" is a hilarious statement to make, especially basing it on some crazy predictions, and nothing factual.
  21. I agree, and I haver a sneaky suspicion it might involve Urias and or Hader if we get a big bat 3B. I'm content with Urias as our opening day 3B to be honest, but we really need a power hitting, consistent 1B and RF.
  22. I'll give you bunting, but there are reasons for that as well (which RoCo outlined above) What other skills are the players of yesteryear better than today's players? The game has changed so much, I think saying that they were better or worse decades ago just isn't accurate.
  23. That sounds like what a lot of people were saying after his crappy 2020 short season...
  24. You think players in general are worse at the game than they were 10-15 years ago? I'd love your reasoning on this one. Yeah, it's probably actually opposite of what he said to be honest.
