  1. If Yelich and Hiura aren't hitting, this offense is putrid. It's a borefest. There is no future in these guys as a group. Watching the White Sox made me very jealous. Those guys have so much to look forward to, and we have......Smoak, Sogard, Morrison, Healy, and Narvaez. None of which have a future with this team.
  2. It should have never started. This roster construction is a hot disaster in this young season. this
  3. It is hard to be excited when we see the line-ups that are being put on the field. No C, 1B, 3B, and SS. I mean, we have black holes at 4 of 5 IF positions, absolute black holes. Our heavy hitting 2B hasn't impressed, so what do we have? How much do we miss Moustakas? About as much as I expected for sure. It's disgusting. Hard to get excited when you see how bad Yelich is looking. He is the guy we can always count on, but not so far. Cain is gone, but Gamel has been fun to watch. Garcia? So far, meh. Replacing Grandal with Narvaez? Pretty easy to see that isn't going to work out, who really thought it would? I think if we are being honest with ourselves, we knew that getting guys like Smoak, Morrison, Healy, and Sogard to play as many innings as we will need them was a huge mistake. Just nothing there. I'm going to keep watching, I'm not going to make threats that I'll stop, I know I won't. Hopefully, we can win more than we lose, but even if we can sneak into the playoffs, so what, we don't have the talent to compete. Extremely poor roster building this past off season, really poor. The sliver lining is that we don't have to watch this offensive mess for 162 games, but it will be hard enough to watch it for 60.
  4. ...and what a downgrade Narvaez is at the catcher position. He has shown nothing for being known as an offensive catcher.
  5. I hope we have a better plan going in to next season at 1B and 3B... Smoak and Morrison are not impressive................................at all.
  6. That Sox line-up is so much better than ours... This team could be really good for a long time to come.
  7. I am left with the decision on which pitcher to start on 2 of my fantasy teams. I'm just going to start them both and see what happens. lol
  8. I suggest you tune out then, and let the rest of us enjoy this for what it is....BASEBALL! You know why it feels off, because it is off! I have no connection to the NBA, talk about a bunch of guys going through the motions until the playoffs start... I watched about 10 minutes of both Bucks games and was bored. Horrible looking courts, poor lighting, political nonsense, I think the NBA is a lot more "empty" than MLB. At least we have guys fighting for their careers in MLB to watch. We see guys getting to play on a lot of teams that wouldn't have had the chance if things were normal. Yup, it's messy, and yes, it is a giant step backwards from what the normal MLB season looks like, but I'll take this over no baseball at all any and every day.
  9. Intentional walking Yelich here could be a HUGE mistake...lol BALLS of steel...
  10. I seriously want to know the benefit of Garcia in CF and Gamel in RF. Sometimes I think CC just likes to switch things up and be cute with his line-ups. Seems obvious to me that Gamel should be leading off, but CC gets cute and uses Healy there. These are the reasons I scratch my head frequently with CC's line-ups. I know, it's kind of a sin to question him here, but sometimes, the obvious plays are the plays to make.
  11. Odds Anderson gets hurt tonight?
  12. Healy gets called up and is our lead off man right out of the gate? I don't get it.
  13. Yeah, still don't get it. Just looks like really bad grammar to me. (or some kind of whacked out typo)
  14. Then maybe "all of them" need to do a better job of protecting themselves by following the protocols that MLB put in place.
  15. I laugh every time I see a player spit into his batting gloves at the plate (he bat boy then picks up the bat that the player just got spit on), I shake my head when I see guys spitting every 10 seconds. Why does Counsell sometimes have his mask on, and sometimes, when he is directly speaking to another coach or player, he doesn't have it pulled up? The high fives, hand touching, and general cluelessness going on for all the world to see is a bad look. I'm pretty amazed at how many things I see each game that are completely wrong if they want to truly get a handle on this. Nope, won't be surprised in the least if we have 2 weeks or less of baseball, and that's the end of it. Good luck football fans...
  16. I live in the Fox Valley. Sprint was fine there. We had a problem when my son went to college at UWSP, coverage was horrible. We switched to Us Celluar, and haven't looked back. Really happy with their service, and it worked perfectly in Stevens Point. My daughter them went to college at UWEC, worked great there too.
  17. Tyler Kepner of the New York Times reports that MLB has no plans to cancel or suspend the season as a result of the Marlins' COVID-19 outbreak. Multiple national baseball reporters have essentially conveyed the same message. Per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, MLB owners completed their weekly call earlier today and cancellation wasn't on the table. Commissioner Rob Manfred would have the final say regarding the viability of a season. The Marlins' situation is bad for a variety of reasons, but MLB is going to do their best to manage it for now. If the outbreak moves into another clubhouse, it's hard to see how this continues. SOURCE: Tyler Kepner on Twitter Jul 27, 2020, 2:31 PM ET -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like it won't get into another clubhouse during the next 57 games... That is an automatic, it's gonna happen, probably sooner rather than later...
  18. oh boy, this is not what we want to see...
  19. I don't understand the title of this thread.
  20. Schools may "attempt" to re-open, but one case in a building will shut them back down again...
