  1. It's too bad that all the people that are unable to pass drug tests, oh I don't know, stop using drugs? If weed is effecting your life to the point that you are unhireable because you can't pass a drug test, maybe that means you should stop using it? People are just stupid.
  2. Ok, since you are posting unpopular opinions, I'll add mine. I have never liked the Natural. It is always mentioned as one of the best baseball movies of all time. I just never got it I guess. I even bought it on dvd a couple years ago, thinking that maybe my tastes/viewpoints have changed enough that I might have been missing something all these years. Nope, gave the dvd to a buddy of mine a few days after watching it.
  3. Too many people making more on unemployment than they would be paid by the jobs that need filling. Everyplace I see is hiring, EVERY place. There are plenty of jobs out there, but when you make more with hand-outs, it's tough to talk people into going back to earning their paychecks.
  4. Never heard of Long Gone, sounds interesting. Is that an older movie? I remember seeing the Bingo movie, but that was a LONG time ago...Had to be the 70's.
  5. 1. Major League 2. Bull Durham 3. Bad News Bears (the original from 1976, not the Billy Bob version) 4. League of their Own 5. For Love of the Game
  6. 200-300 $ once a month for a meal at a restaurant? I can find so many more things I'd rather drop that cash on than one meal and drinks. I guess I'm just not fancy. lol
  7. It is impossible to get away from without taking drastic measures. Doesn't matter what local news you watch, it is constantly the subject. National news media, lol Forget it, constant doom and gloom, blaming, dividing, just looking for reasons to bring us all down. Social media is unbearable and a complete embarrassment. I am currently taking a few days away from it all. No news, no social media, just sitcoms, dvds, and movies if I am engaging in a screen... No wonder we have so much mental illness, and the events of the past few months is only going to increase it. As a society, we have become weak and ineffective with handling our own feelings and thoughts. The wussification of America continues, and there is no end in sight.
  8. If they play a 50 game season, or an 80 game season, there will be a World Series Champion. I would rather it be us than someone else, so if that happens, and the Brewers win it, I'll party like it's 1982!
  9. Friend of mine believes that the reason we are now pushing masks is so the companies that make them can profit. Also, those companies have the cdc in their pockets, so in his line of thinking, that would make sense. I'm not saying this is true, but it is another thought that is out there. Our world is a screwed up mess. One thing this virus and even the current Minneapolis/National issue has taught us is that there are lies upon lies upon lies out there, and now, more than ever, everyone has to do their homework to find the truth. Even then, I'm not sure the entire truth is out there. I have no faith in our media, in any way, shape or form anymore. It's a shame and an embarrassment.
  10. I just hope we never have a team in Colorado again
  11. MLB reporter Francys Romero hears that David Price will give $1,000 in June to every Dodgers minor leaguer. It's an incredibly nice gesture, especially considering that Price hasn't even officially thrown a pitch for the Dodgers yet. The Dodgers have also committed to continue paying their minor leaguers $400 per week through the end of June. Source: Francys Romero on Twitter May 29, 2020, 8:58 AM ET
  12. Or a lot harder if you can't find someone who wants to risk getting the corona on the hook up...
  13. Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that some within the MLBPA feel that MLB's economic proposal "doesn’t even warrant (a) counter proposal." Players held a call Wednesday and were “pretty galvanized” in their disdain for MLB's proposal, with the reactions ranging from “disappointing” to “disrespectful,” per Heyman. Heyman does add that some feel this is all “part of (the) process,” so perhaps the two sides eventually will be able to find common ground. However, there's no doubting that MLB's initial proposal -- which called for massive player salary cuts on a "sliding scale" basis -- was ill-received. 14. What about managers and coaches? Have them manage from a location not in the dugout... They could see the game, maybe even be in the dugout, but blocked off from the rest of the team.
  15. yup, I have some really tough decisions to make. Vlad Jr. is another guy that was so disappointing last year but seems to have that golden boy label hanging over him. I pretty much have to decide between him and Jose Ramirez, who is extremely proven.
  16. If this season gets under way, fantasy baseball will follow. My 4 leagues haven't drafted yet, we are waiting on official word of a start date. My biggest question as far as keepers are concerned are Vlad Jr. and Yorden Alvarez. Is Alvarez a total beast that would be a giant mistake not to keep? Is Vlad the real deal after his completely unimpressive season last year? I wanted to keep Hiura really bad, but I'm thinking that Alvarez over Hiura is the smart play. Need to keep my heart out of fantasy baseball. lol
  17. Random question, is Yordan Alvarez the total and complete stud that your sims are showing? I have him in a couple keeper leagues, and wasn't sure I'd keep him or not...
  18. This one is on my list, thanks for the review!
  19. Over reaction, it could be many reasons, some probably not even mentioned here yet...
  20. They probably sold out for the novelty aspect of going to the drive-in. At that price, no way the interest level stays past the first couple of weeks.
  21. GREED! Cheaper rates, means more people will go. I wouldn't go for that price, especially if it was just 2 people. just bad marketing.
  22. Like it or not, the virus is going to become more and more political the closer we get to election day. It is going to be used and abused at every turn. Both sides will spin it to what they consider their advantage. Just one more thing for the media to use to divide the country, and for what? It's disgusting really.
  23. Thanks, it was a mixed blessing actually. Relieved not to have had it, yet kind of wanted a positive result since we didn't suffer much, especially if you can only get it once. (which I doubt will be the case)
  24. Actually, the nasal one wasn't bad at all. No pain, just tickled. Seriously, it tickled.
  25. So here is my update, with results... My wife and I both tested negative for the virus. This means that I more than likely had an old fashioned migraine headache, followed by a couple of days of issues based on that. My wife must have picked up either a cold when she went grocery shopping (her only trip outside the house in the 2 weeks before her symptoms) or possibly allergies, which she doesn't normally experience. Part of me wished we had tested positive to get it over with, assuming you can only get it once, but I don't believe that is going to be the case when all is said and done. So that's my story, with a boring ending...
