    Nolan Arenado is not in the lineup for Monday’s game. Arenado could potentially be on the move to a contender ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, but there hasn’t been a ton of buzz on that front quite yet.     For me personally, it's the 2 - 2.5 month rental that makes me against acquiring Suarez. You trade a guy like Henderson with several years of control, for a guy that will be here 2 months. Just isn't prudent for our organization. That is the part I can't stomach.

    The Tigers acquiring Chris Paddack from the Twins in exchange for a prospect, sources tell The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Dan Hayes. Paddack has a 4.95 ERA and a weak 17.6% strikeout rate this season, so he’s probably not moving the needle. Still, some extra pitching depth can’t hurt, and with any luck, they wouldn’t need him to start a postseason game. If Paddack goes, Travis Adams might become the Twins’ fifth starter, though he was just sent down earlier today. Source: Ken Rosenthal

    I don't care who gets him, as long as it isn't us. Cubs getting him might make them stronger NOW, but weaker in the future. For that reason, I don't mind them being the team that overpays for his services.

    USA TODAY’s Bob Nightengale says the Tigers “would love to finalize a deal for (Eugenio) Suárez” during the team’s series against the Diamondbacks that begins Monday. The Tigers could definitely use more right-handed power, and Suárez brings plenty of it to the table. If the Tigers get a deal done, it’d turn Zach McKinstry back into more of a utilityman and probably result in less playing time for Wenceel Pérez and Matt Vierling. Source: Bob Nightengale

    I'm on record against including Henderson in any trade involving a 2 month rental like Suarez.

    Finding a team to take on Hoskins will just cost us more in prospects. I am against including Henderson in a deal for Suarez. I just hate the idea of including a cost controlled possible top of the rotation pitcher for 2 months of a guy that plays below average defense but will hit some homers. It's a mistake for an organization that refuses to spend.

    Imo, Henderson ALONE is an overpay. Suarez alone isn't going to fix this offense, we would need another BIG bat, and I shudder to think what other prospects might be included. I love and hate this time of year.

    I'd have rested Contreras today so he is fresh for the Cubs series.

    Isn't it possible that Turang moves to SS in 2026, and Durbin moves to 2B? I don't think he is locked into 3B in the future, in fact, I'd bet against it.

    Contreras seems so much worse because he has been so much better the other seasons as a Brewer. Players go through this kind of stuff, it isn't uncommon, but I do feel we have been pretty spoiled by the catcher position offensively the past couple of seasons. The fact that he is scuffling is magnified by the production we are used to getting from him.
