  1. Martinez seems like a guy who would drive you absolutely crazy as a fan of his team...
  2. Coach Cooper always preached that when on 2B, if the ball is hit in front of you, and no one on 1B, you don't go. Coach Cooper would not be pleased with Moose on that play.
  3. Which means they could get swept by the Tigers, because baseball. Just take one game at a time. I remember once when I was talking to Johnny Anderson about our next game vs Naperville Auto & Tire. Let's just say Coach Cooper didn't react too kindly to that. Coach Cooper, hell of a guy, hell of a coach...
  4. That team had Mark Kotsay and Yuni B getting regular starts. I would call them both weak spots. Our manager even thought it was prudent to start Kotsay in center freaking field, which cost us dearly in the NLCS. Man, that still smarts. This current team is better top to bottom, and so was that 82 team imo.
  5. Rollie Fingers was hurt and wasn't able to pitch in the World series. Had he been able to pitch in those high leverage situations, I still believe to this day we would have won the series. Still hurts to this day. If I remember correctly, he was also unavailable for the ALCS...
  6. That '82 line-up felt stacked, top to bottom, and we didn't have to endure the pitcher hitting. Ahhhh, what could have been. That being said. it was a different era, and this team for all the highs and lows has been pretty darn close imo. Hard to look at that '82 team and think we could be better, but we could be better...lol
  7. I kind of feel that way now, but I know I won't feel that way in the heat of battle. Losing in the playoffs will seem like hell, pure hell...
  8. Pitch Albers now, who gives a rip... Save Jeffress and Soria. Use Jennings, use Albers, use Kratz, one ounce of trouble, move on to the next guy. I get using Jeffress since it has been since Friday, but I don't want to take any chances with his neck, let it rest another day.
  9. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Walking the MVP, smart move! If that doesn't cement the MVP crown, what will? AWESOME!
