  1. *POOF* (mind blown)
  2. Who are the guys who should be our best hitters? Seems to me our best hitters are getting it done pretty consistantly, it's the rest of the line-up that is killing us. Cain, Yelich, and Shaw (for the most part) are getting it done. Jesus is a gift. Thames just back from the DL. Braun isn't getting it done. Is he one of the best hitters you are talking about? That leaves Villar, Pina, Arcia, Santana. Are these the guys that should be our BEST hitters? Everyone expected a lot more from Santana, so I think he is probably one you are talking about.
  3. Calling out some guys. I like it. Does he think the other guys aren't trying? I think his comment is ridiculous. Who are the 2 guys that everyone is relying on? Cain and Yelich? So Shaw and Jesus are relying on them as well? Ridiculous comment. Simple fact of the matter is that once we get past our #5 hitter, and some nights #6, we are screwed. When our 6 - 9 in the order are automatic outs, what do we expect? Eric Sogard should never, and I mean NEVER see another at bat in a major league uniform, yet we keep trotting him out there. Santana and Arcia NEED to be sent to AAA to figure some things out. They have nothing to offer this team offensively. I'm not saying to give up on them, but they need to get things right, and in a major league line-up isn't the place to do it. Sogard is a lost cause. Him I have completely given up on.
  4. Thor's injury history HAS to drop his price a little bit. Right? I don't want t a guy that hits the DL 2 or 3 times a year, just not a prudent situation. In all honesty, I'd rather have deGrom, but he is only controlled through 2020.
  5. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Mets are ready to listen to trade offers for "virtually everyone" on their roster. Rosenthal notes that the Mets would understandably prefer to keep their young, controllable talent, but he also adds that the club is more open to moving Noah Syndergaard (under team control through 2021) than staff ace Jacob deGrom (under team control through 2020). Obviously it would take a huge haul for them to part with either pitcher, but they are keeping an open mind. Probably the most realistic name to be moved is closer Jeurys Familia, who is due to become a free agent following the season. Asdrubal Cabrera also makes sense as a possible trade chip for New York. 6. Knebel needs to get right. That HR was a killer. We didn't know it at the time, and it seemed meaningless, but had that not happened, we could be into extra innings right now...
  7. I do not understand Thames at the top. Why not hit him 3rd or 5th in this line-up? I'd put him at 5. Just don't understand CC's line of thinking when he puts him at the top. EDIT: Thames hitting lead-off is brilliant! Never doubted that decision, even for a second.
  8. First Cubs series I've been to in years and it was disgusting. The amount of Cubs fans in the stands was overwhelming. The number of Cubs fans in the stands makes them far too comfortable, and they can act like they want because they have strength in numbers. When they would BOO Braun in our stadium, and it sounded like the entire stadium was doing it, I have to admit, it ticked me off. Do the current fans know a guy named Sammy Sosa? Hypocrites. I'm a gluten for punishment, as I'll be at the next 2 games as well.
  9. I'd take Clevinger as well...
  10. The Lucroy talk has to end. He is a shell of his former self offensively. That bridge is burned, hard pass on Lucroy coming back to Milwaukee.
  11. No concern for the history of injuries for both of them? I own both on 3 fantasy keeper teams (yup, both on 3 separate teams) and they routinely miss time on the DL pretty much every season. I'm not saying that I wouldn't pay up for one of them, but the injury stuff is always concerning to me.
  12. OF is set simply because of what you said. Domingo and Braun are here to stay. Yelich and Cain will play daily. I can't see any changes being made with the OF.
  13. What position player do we need to replace to make our offense so much better? Outfield seems set. 1B? Thames will be back at some point, is he enough? SS? C? 2B should be fine if our manager will allow Villar to play there every day. (not that 2017 Villar can't or won't come back. Could happen) 3B is set with Shaw.
  14. It would help if Santana wasn't reverting back into April Domingo. I am old school when it comes to the line up and playing the players that give you the best chance of winning on a daily basis. Do players need an occasional day off, maybe, but even miore importantly, they need consistant at bats. Playing 4 games a week doesn't allow any kind of groove. I think Villar and Domingo need to play all the time, just like Shaw, Yelich and Cain. Stop trying to be cute with the line-up, and stop trying to play guys so their feelings aren't hurt. Bench guys need at bats too, I get that, but your main guys need to play, A LOT!
  15. Improving our offense goes without saying imo… If you are a Brewer fan, you know the struggles offensively. Yelich and Cain were not enough apparently. However, imagine where we would be without them? Less than .500?
  16. The bull pen was not going to sustain it's dominance for a full season. We have seen lately that they are not bulletproof, which only magnifies the need for better starting pitching. If we continue to lean on the bullpen the rest of the year like we have done to this point, it will not be pretty come September.
  17. yup, it sure is... and while were at it, nerd power should be over as well.
  18. Easy...its been 13 at bats. It shouldve been half blue. Pina stinks though as an offensive catcher. Kinda over him. Wish they had upgraded. You mean Kratz isn't an upgrade?
