  1. An update on the team that you puked on. Currently, the team is in 3rd place. He has used up about 50 more innings than he should of at this point in the season, but he had a great draft, made a trade or two, and is doing pretty well. This is an extremely active league, not a bunch of sluff off dead teams. He took a team with issues, and turned it into a competitive team. He is a smart owner. He checks in every day, uses the waiver wire to his advantage, and is very active in trade talks. He won't win the league this year, but if he continues building the team up with solid drafts, it won't be too long before he will have a shot. I'm guessing he still finishes in the top half this year. So, yeah...
  2. Drama? Dude is quiet, doesn't complain, and is a leader. Far from drama...
  3. Jimmy Nelson is heading to Los Angeles for a progress report on his surgically-repaired right shoulder. Nelson has been playing long toss out to 150 feet and it sounds like he could be cleared for mound work if the check-up goes well. The right-hander might be ready to join the Brewers' starting rotation around the end of June, though it's a little too early to put an exact timetable on it. 4. This is as good of a line-up as we can have with our current roster. Nice to see Villar out of the doghouse...……………..for today.
  5. Gennett is a solid player, but he isn't really a first division regular. He's much better suited being one of the better hitters on a 2nd division team than batting 7th or 8th and playing average defense on a contender. ...but still better than anything we are trotting out there.
  6. All Archer would do at this point is block one of our younger guys from filling in or making this rotation. I want no part of him, period.
  7. So it looks like Perez moves to left for Braun, and Villar will be playing 2B. I wonder if Villar goes 3 for 4, with a couple of stolen bases, if that would buy him some playing time in the future.
  8. yeah, you'd think if they were trying to move him, they would at least showcase him against right handed pitchers. It's just so odd that CC has completely abandoned him.
  9. ...and that has always been the biggest issue with acquiring Archer. The cost in minor league talent. No way I want to give anything even remotely close to what we had to give up for Yelich. It's one thing if it was just signing him as a free agent, even then, I do not believe for one second he would be worth what he might cost on the open market. I actually think most here over-value him far more than the rest of the league, and he might be lucky to get a Lance Lynn type contract but for more years, maybe 3.
  10. I really dislike these late starts. Impossible to stay up and watch the entire game when I have to be up at 5:40 to get ready for work. Oh woe is me.
  11. Says the guy with a lot of hot takes himself. Why is it that you think a change of scenery will make him any better? His career numbers are heavy on strike-outs, but nothing else.
  12. Quality depth is great to have. Archer would create more of it. Depth yes, quality depth, ummm no.
  13. So I called, and told them I am not "thinking" of leaving, I "am" leaving if they can't give me a better price than what they are doing currently. After asking to speak to a supervisor, then asking for yet another supervisor, I was able to get my current package for $179, far cheaper than the ridiculous $218 they were trying to screw me with. Not much of a victory by any means, I am still paying $40 more than I was a year ago at this time, but was able to get their highest speed internet they offer, plus an upgrade on all the boxes currently on all 4 of our non-main tvs in the house. They will now have all digital capabilities, and show all the channels in my package. The ones I currently have only showed a limited channel package, not like on the main dvr tv. It's a small victory, but I did have to make REAL threats this time, as I was fully prepared to leave. I think the final supervisor sensed that and actually made an effort to keep me. Current offer is good for one year of course, then they will screw me again.
  14. Just got yet another increase on my bill from Spectrum/TimeWarner or whatever name they are going by this month. Went from $186 (which is already hard to stomach) to $218 per month. Keep in mind, I was paying $143 in June (less than a year ago), went up to $162 in October, jumped to $180 in January, and $186 in March. Now they expect me to pay $218? Screw them, they are going to drop it down to something reasonable, or this time I am 100% bailing. I have reached my limit. I do not expect them to come down, so if anyone has some suggestions for the fox valley, I'd appreciate it. I am not a sling.hulu.streaming type of guy. I want to turn the tv on and go to the channel I want. Nothing extra. The thought of a dish sickens me, but that is more than likely where I'm headed.
  15. I dread the thoughts of anymore Archer discussions. We already dodged that bullet once...
  16. This is a tough argument to make. Just because Archer is bad in TB doesn’t mean he would have been equally bad in Milwaukee. Let’s also not forget that in the spot Archer or anyone else would have taken Suter has made 7 starts with an ERA over 5 and Woodruff has started two games and he currently has an ERA over 8. So it’s not like the guys we are using instead are any better. Meanwhile, not that I would have advocated giving Arrietta the contract he got from Philly, but he currently has a 2.59 ERA through 7 starts. Ultimately I think we’d still have have better off with an Archer or Arrietta because I don’t think they are nearly as bad as their early early numbers indicate. Ummmmm, but in aquiring Archer, we would have had to give up the farm, and Suter cost us nothing, so given the situation, I'm happy we didn't give up our future for a horrible Archer.
  17. I don't mind the light pink but the bright pink is hard on the eyes. It's too bad that in 25 years, when Freddy sees video and photos from his first start, they will be tainted by all that pink.
  18. Yup, leave Yelich, Cain and Domingo in the OF permanently. No more making room for Braun in the OF if Santana is finally hitting.
  19. How long before the entire uniform is pink on Mother's day? It seems every year, more pink is added.
  20. Would have been nice to have Cain in the line-up for Freddy's first start. Give the kid the best possible line-up.
