  1. The two biggest omissions in my opinion are Peralta and A-Rod. (Not that I wanted an A-Rod, but they were honoring the best players to play for them, and he surely is one of them) I do not think that Maldanado or Lawrie should have gotten one over Peralta... That one makes no sense to me... Not real enthused about another Lawrie. He is no longer Brewer property, and they already did one of him... Other than that, the list is pretty good. It doesn't bother me that they included players that played in Appleton when they belonged to the Mariners since I saw all those guys play for the t-rats. (Felix, Ortiz/Arias, Jones, Cabrera, and Choo) I'm most excited about the Felix (T-Rats never did one of him), Scooter, Jim Henderson (since the brewers ignored his bobble this year), Gomez (in a T-Rats uniform), and Khris Davis. I'd like to have seen a Haniger and Roache this season... EDIT: after reading the timber rattlers news release again, it does say the best players since 1995, so A-Rod wouldn't qualify, AND he played for them when they were the Appleton Foxes, pre 1995. A pretty conveinienant way to not have to include him....lol
  2. There'd be no downside in picking him up... you'd rather continue on the 'Juan Francisco is terrible' merry-go-round? That's quite the leap, TLB. I would rather see the Brewers re-sign Corey Hart, and/or give Hunter Morris the opportunity. Gamel had more than enough chances in Milwaukee. I'm not saying it's his fault he repeatedly got hurt, but that was the situation. This I agree with. Hart is probably our best option, and at this point, we will see just how serious he was about playing here for less money/hometown discount/etc. I'd much rather roll with Hart or Morris. The page has been turned on Gamel and Green, I'd rather leave it that way and let someone else ride that merry go round. Outside of injury, Hart is a pretty safe option.
  3. Are you seriously comparing Green and Gamel to Molitor? They haven't proved anything, and in all honesty, I doubt they will ever be what Brewers fans had hoped...
  4. 1. 4/3/14 Scooter Gennett 2. 4/5/14 Felix Hernandez 3. 4/29/14 Brett Lawrie 4. 5/13/14 David Ortiz 5. 6/10/14 Adam Jones 6. 7/1/14 Jim Henderson 7. 7/20/14 Carlos Gomez 8. 7/29/14 Asdrubal Cabrera 9. 8/3/14 Khris Davis 10. 8/12/14 Martin Maldanado 11. 8/28/14 Shin Soo Choo
  5. I'm pretty sure they want to get you in the stadium, not sell the bobbles. My guess is that they will not allow you to just buy the $65 tickets, and hold all 11 bobbles for you until the end of the season. Won't hurt to ask them though.
  6. That's right, 11 different bobbleheads on what appears to be 9 different dates. Uggghhhh, now the t-rats are going to join the overkill party. This may be the straw that breaks my collecting back. Add these 11 to the 8 from the Brewers (not counting their retro versions and the season ticket Segura) and this is just becoming too complicated. Display space, box storage, etc are becoming too much to bare... I might just have to limit my collection to just the Brewers and T-Rats, and bag the "I have to collect all the Brewers minor league teams" bobbles every year. Kind of exciting to see which 11 they will be doing, but man, this is getting more and more like baseball cards in the 80's every year! OVERKILL. Here is the message they just left on facebook: The Timber Rattlers will be celebrating their 20th season by giving away NINE bobbleheads featuring the best players to play each position for the team since 1995. In addition to the NINE, there will be TWO bonus bobbleheads given out as well. That means there will be a total of 11 bobblehead giveaways next season! Make sure to follow the Timber Rattlers Facebook and Twitter pages all day tomorrow (10/4/13) because starting at 8:00 AM, the eleven 2014 bobbleheads will be announced at the top of each hour. RETWEET the message on twitter or SHARE each post on your Facebook page to earn a chance to win tickets to each game. The Timber Rattlers have created a special bobblehead ticket package for fans who want to collect the whole set. Packages start at just $65/seat. Purchasing this package GUARANTEES you all 11 bobbleheads! Stop by the ticket office or call 920-733-4152 to purchase your ticket package and guarantee all eleven bobbleheads today!
  7. Always a struggle for my family too....
  8. I'm always amazed at how many people want to bring back players that were dumped for good reasons... I liked Ax-Man, but I want his page to remain turned. No more ex-brewers please.
  9. Latest: The Marlins will tender a contract to Logan Morrison. But that doesn't necessarily mean that LoMo will be suiting up for the Fish next season. There have been multiple rumors this winter suggesting that Miami is shopping the 26-year-old first baseman, who has been limited to a total of 178 games over the past two summers. The Brewers are thought to have some level of trade interest. Morrison is arbitration-eligible for the first time. Source: Jon Heyman on Twitter
  10. As long as Lucroy stays healthy, I'm fine with "Maldy" as our back-up, however, if he became our every day catcher, I wouldn't be as fine with that... If Lucroy goes down, we would be in deep crap.
  11. I'm afraid it would be for our better minor league pitchers... Nelson and Thornburg are the two guys I just don't want to part with... If they are part of this, I hope it is only a rumor.
  12. According to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, the Brewers are one of the teams that would be interested in dealing for Logan Morrison should the Marlins make him available. The Brewers are staring at a gaping hole at first base for the time being, with Corey Hart currently a free agent, and the best in-house option being Juan Francisco and his free-swinging ways. Morrison and his high on-base approach could fit nicely in the middle of the Brewers lineup. Source: Chris Cotillo on Twitter Anytime we come up in trade rumors, I am scared to death what we are going to have to give up to get the player being discussed. I guess that means I do not trust our front office very much.
  13. I'm over it! I was a Ryan Braun fan before this nonsense happened, and still am! Are fans going to cheer him on when he knocks one out of the park, or will they sit quietly in disgust? I'm gonna cheer like cray, like I have always done... I'm not going to disillusion myself into believing that Ryan Braun is the only player using illegal substances. He just happened to get caught. GO #8!!!!!!
  14. At what cost do we add a starting pitcher though? Do we sell out on the farm for someone, overpay in FA, how do you propose we just go out and get the magic starting pitcher which will send us straight to the promised land? I like optimism, but not blind homerism optimism, which it seems this thread is loaded with.
  15. agreed. I too am in the camp to trade him for the best value we can get. Davis has to be a starter this season one way or another. Having Aoki blocking a young guy is just not smart for a team like this. Let the young guys play and see what we have. Same can be said about our 1B situation last year. Why on earth we kept trotting Yuni and Gonzalez out there at the expense of seeing what Morris/Halton could possibly do in the bigs was just so stupid. The team was going nowhere, and having crappy offensive shortstops manning 1B was possibly the most frustrating thing about last season.
  16. We dropped 10 million on Eric Gagne... I don't see how this is that much of an overpay. I would have been pretty happy had the Brewers got him for that kind of price and commitment..
  17. That is understandable, but for the greater good of "all" fans, I'm glad they are doing it. If it prevents one instance of violence, it is worth it imo.
  18. I wonder if he'll challenge Ortiz at the plate? If so, that is something I'd like to see.
  19. I am not a fan of the platoon. Gomez has admitted that it affected his play not playing full time. I think most players need the daily routine to be effective.
  20. ...and how is it obnoxious? We aren't talking strip searches here...
  21. Couldn't agree more. Serious question which is not meant to turn this into a fight: Do you tend to feel unsafe at Miller Park? Of course not... But any safety precautions that can be taken to prevent a reason to feel unsafe is a good thing.........................imo
  22. Losing that 1st round pick on Lohse hurts... I still hate that signing, especially when competing didn't happen with Lohse on the roster. That decision is going to hurt us for a long time to come...
  23. If Davis is sent back down, and isn't a full time player in 2014, this organization will have disappointed me once again. I want to be positive about the upcoming season, but there needs to be some big changes at the top for me to get excited about our future.
  24. If standing in line for 10 minutes means the stadium is a safer place to be, I'm all for it.
  25. How is this a great roster move when the Cardinals are now blocking their best prospect that is ready for the majors? If the Cardinals thought he was major league ready, I doubt he would be blocked at all... Just saying.
