  1. It seems that K-Rod is a lot older than 32, seems he's been around forever.
  2. I will not rest easy until some team, any team besides the Brewers inks him to a deal... Until that happens, I truly believe he will be a Brewer in 2014.
  3. ^ Maybe if they wouldn't start playing Christmas music November 1st, people wouldn't be so burnt out on it the day after Christmas... I like Christmas music though, but it seems to be being played earlier and earlier every year, along with the stores hyping the Christmas shopping the day after Halloween, or sooner... ----- Continued here: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=30804
  4. I wonder if such a list exists? I personally don't know anyone who collects all the Bucks SGAs, but there must be demand for them.
  5. Zach Links of MLBTradeRumors.com reports that multiple teams are still interested in Yuniesky Betancourt, including one that could give him a chance to start. The Marlins no longer have interest following the signing of Casey McGehee, but it sounds like Yuni won't have trouble finding a new home. That said, it's hard to believe that after a dreadful .212/.240/.355 season someone would really give him a shot to start. Source: Zach Links on Twitter
  6. The casual fan won't know better... The casual fan may not even remember who Thornburg is. The casual fan knows nothing of minor league prospects and how thin our pitching prospects are. Brewerfan.net brewer fans SHOULD be furious if Thornburg is dealt for Davis.
  7. Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN reports that free agent Johan Santana is mulling over multiple minor league deals, but the Twins are not one of the teams that have made an offer. The Twins remain interested in a reunion with Santana, but are not one of the multiple teams that have formally made him an offer. The Astros, Pirates, Yankees, Rays, Orioles and Brewers are all known to have varying levels of interest in the 34-year-old southpaw. Source: Darren Wolfson on Twitter I have to admit, I am all in on this idea if the price is right, really right...
  8. Here is what I have left if anyone is interested. I'm not looking for high money (lol) make me a fair offer and they are yours! Topps Baseball: 1986 1988 Fleer Baseball: 1988 (Factory set, but not sealed) Score Baseball: 1988 1990 (Factory set, but not sealed) Upper Deck: 1990 Topps Football: 1990 (Factory set, but not sealed)
  9. If anyone is interested, let me know. I'm not trying to make a mint on them, just looking for a fair price and to be rid of them. Shoot me an offer. Also willing to trade them for bobbleheads, but I don't need anything, so that might be a tough trade to make. (I will be looking for the Segura season ticket all star bobble though) Topps Baseball: 1986 1988 Fleer Baseball: 1988 (Factory set, but not sealed) Score Baseball: 1988 1990 (Factory set, but not sealed) Upper Deck: 1990 Topps Football: 1990 (Factory set, but not sealed)
  10. Was Jerry Van Dyke the guy who played Luther in the tv series COACH? I loved that show!
  11. Committing to Rickie for the first month or 6 weeks is dangerous, because we have a manager that will play him long after that (even if he is playing as bad as he has the past 2 seasons) if that is what he decides to do. Once it is in his head that Weeks is "his" starter, it would take an injury to get him out of the line-up again. I don't trust RRR at all, and if he commits to Weeks, no matter how bad he could possibly be, he will remain entrenched as our 2B no matter what. Flipside of that, Weeks starts the year as our starter and goes off the hook, shocking everyone, and has that healthy all-star year some here are talking about. If that happened, no one would have an issue with the decision, but I really think the opposite is more likely to happen...
  12. Same here. I retired from fantasy football 3 years ago because it was driving me absolutely crazy, but was drug back into it last year. My first year back, I won my league. This year, I had a 24 point lead going into the 2nd round of the playoffs, and the guy I was playing had only Justin Tucker going (freaking Ravens kicker, KICKER!) Tucker scored 25 points to knock me out. Revenge was served on that owner this past week though in the championship when Tucker scored him one measley point, and he lost the championship by 2 points... There is justice after all... I love fantasy baseball though, been playing for close to 20 years, and at times have ran 8-10 teams at a time. The last couple years I have cut down to 4 teams, and that is where I plan to stay...
  13. 1. Fire RRR (I can dream can't I?) 2. Let Scooter take over 2B full time, and if Weeks is still on the roster, let him play minimally. 3. Commit to one of our young 1B out of spring training and see what they can do rather than make a silly trade for a below average 1B that has no future with this team. 4. Jimmy Nelson and Tyler Thornburg remaining on the roster and not traded away for a risky 1B. 5. Fire RRR...(Just keeping the dream alive.)
  14. As anyone knows who plays fantasy football, the SMART play is often not the WINNING play...
  15. That is GREAT fantasy owner strategy right there...
  16. Not sure we need another minor league 1B to add to our logjam...
  17. What I find frustrating is the fact that we are even considering, even for 1 second, guys like Smoak, Loney, Carp, Young, Ike Davis, insert players name here who is no better than what we have on hand... Spending draft picks and money on average at best players just doesn't do it for me... 1B is a black hole in our line-up, was last year, and it is shaping up like it will be the same this year. 3B in our near future looks the same. We are talking about 2 offensive producing positions that we have no answer for.
  18. "The House Without a Christmas Tree" was a staple when I was a kid... Bought it on DVD last year for nostalgia sake since I haven't seen it make an appearance on tv in over 20 years... "Prancer" was a family favorite when my kids were little. Other than that, all my favorites have been mentioned except Fred Klaus. An Elf rip-off, but I'm a Vince Vaughn fan.
  19. So what? MLB has proven over the years that common sense doesn't often prevail when it comes to players, what they want, and what teams are willing to do for these grizzled vets... He will exhaust every option he can explore to catch on as a starter, then if it gets hopeless, he would have to consider a role player type deal... I'm saying that his first choice would be to sign as a starter someplace, and I think someone will allow him that chance.
  20. I doubt Young signs with a team that plans on him being part of a platoon or a bench player. Someone will sign him as a starter, I just hope it is not the Brewers.
  21. Yes, CC and Nyjer Morgan should both have a spot on that wall, but neither fit into their criteria... I also think that Greinke could fit as well.
  22. Michael Young will not sell tickets, so it can't be that is a reason to bring him in... Moves like this are so frustrating. Sometimes I wish I was just a casual fan, if that were the case, things like this wouldn't bother me.
  23. Cutler has 2 GREAT weapons to throw to. Hard to go agianst him this week, but Rivers vs Oakland is probably who I'd go with if it were me. I would go with Rainey without even thinking about it twice. He is their running game, period. The Rams are 28th in the league against the run, they get shredded weekly, so Rainey is a no-brainer imo.
