  1. This statement is dangerously close to being the same as last year.
  2. Yuni's playing time can not and should not be justified.....EVER!
  3. Speaking of fantasy football, the guy I played last weak needed 25 points to beat me in a playoff game. It came down to the Monday night game between Detroit and Baltimore. I had no players gong with a 24 point lead, but he had, you guessed it, Justin Tucker, kicker for the Ravens. Long story short, Tucker kicked 6 field goals to score his owner 25 points for the win, a 61 yarder worth 6 points with 30+ seconds left in the game. My season record was 11-2 (best in the league by 2 wins) and I had 300 more points than the 2nd best team and my season is over... The league is ultra competitive, been around for 8 years, resembling the tv show "the League." Justin Tucker cost me $100 and bragging rights. To make it even worse, I waived Tucker around week 5 or 6, and he came back to bite me... This is exactly the reason I hate fantasy football... Rant over.
  4. the brewers released suppan 7 june 2010, not early may. Seriously? Anyway, Weeks never lived up to his hype, and has been horrible the past two years. Scooter provides at the very least, the chance to get rid of the black hole at 2B defensively, and the constant disappointment of Weeks at bat. The Weeks situation needs to be taken care of, but I fear he will have a bigger role on this team than he deserves because he is Rickie Weeks. I don't view the platoon as an obvious situation, given how bad he is at the plate and in the field. Part of last season was an absolute train wreck where Rickie was involved. It's time to move on, as painful as that may be for some of you to accept.
  5. Morales will cost us a draft pick, correct? If that is the case, I hope he can be crossed off that list soon, no thanks.
  6. Very good read on what the thread title suggests. http://bleacherreport.com/tb/dc11H?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=milwaukee-brewers
  7. Nothing wrong with the Davis pick so far...
  8. I was just messing with you guys. If you guys are so against Rollins at 1B, then let's just let him start at SS and move Segura to 1B then...
  9. Maybe trade him for Weeks straight up so he can play 1B... Buster Olney of ESPN writes that the Phillies are "very willing" to trade Jimmy Rollins. Rollins is owed $11 million in 2014 and carries an $11 million vesting option for the 2015 season. The 35-year-old batted just .252/.318/.348 across 666 plate appearances in 2013. He'll likely be difficult to move. Source: Buster Olney on Twitter
  10. Really! My guess is he signs for more than 3 million this year. Here is the latest, no mention of the Brewers being in the hunt: MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez says re-signing Eric Chavez has "become a priority" for the Diamondbacks. But the veteran infielder is also drawing interest from several other clubs -- including the Rangers, Yankees, Marlins and Rays -- so it might take more than Arizona is willing to give. Chavez hit .281/.332/.478 with nine home runs and 44 RBI in 80 games this past season for the Diamondbacks. He turned 36 years old on December 7. Source: Jesse Sancez on Twitter
  11. He'll cost more than we can pay though, but not a bad idea...
  12. UUUUGGGHHHH!
  13. Anyone know of other boards besides this one? Not looking for smack boards, but real message boards with real fans that want to discuss our Brewers... Thanks!
  14. The offseason is far from over. ...and soon, Doug Melvin desperation WILL set in, probably fueled by Mark Attanasio...
  15. Dude, do you ever proof-read your posts? Just wondering...
  16. Old news possibly, but nothing mentioned here. Thought it was interesting.
  17. It is easy to be impressed with Gennett's glove when so many here just ripped him apart for his defense before ever seeing him play. When you constantly read here how bad he is, you tend to think he really is that bad... So many here read up on players, use their fancy grids, stats and graphs and don't base their opinions on the eye test. I saw Scooter play a full season in 2010, and he was not a liability defensively, yet according to the posters here, he is a horrible hack, and could never consider being a MLB starter... Scooter will never be a top 5 player with the bat or his glove, but he is more than serviceable, and compared to the crap we have put up with at 2B the past several years, he is a BIG improvement.
  18. Rangers selected 2B Russell Wilson in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft. The pick was made on Thursday. While the NFL superstar remains unlikely to ever pursue his baseball career again, the Rangers would like to be associated with him, and have their players and coaches be around someone with his drive and desire. Rangers general manager Jon Daniels has indicated that Wilson is excited to potentially come to spring training and wants to come to camp. Source: MLB.com
  19. Should that be in blue?
  20. No way does a pitcher like Garza instantly propel us into contender status... Garza is no Ace, and doesn't pitch like an Ace.
  21. It is silly to put Braun at 1B at this point. Some of you are forgetting just how horrible he was at 3B, and he would have to make similar plays at 1B........No thanks. Braun is now an outfielder, and that is where he belongs. Trading Ramirez with no back-up plan at 3B would just make another hole... Moving him to 1B would also create the same hole at 3B......No thanks. How sad is it that in our farm system, we just don't have anyone that the FO thinks can step in and play 3B and/or 1B. Seems like a horrible fail on the part of the men in charge of drafting to have so little in terms of MLB ready talent at 2 very important positions. (Make it 3 if we had not gotten Segura via trade) It's depressing.
  22. I think that because Gamel was discussed here so much as a possibilty, it seemed to go on forever... That page has been turned......FINALLY!
  23. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Mets and Brewers are "still talking" about an Ike Davis trade, but Milwaukee is still refusing to part with Tyler Thornburg. Thornburg posted a 2.02 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 66 2/3 frames for the Brewers last season and they plan on letting him compete for a rotation job in spring training. There still seems like a good chance of the two sides working something out, though, as Milwaukee has been linked with Davis more than any other team. Source: Ken Rosenthal on Twitter
  24. He always seems to be injured too, no thanks....
  25. Actually, I think it is the opposite, I think it is more likely now than ever...
