  1. Fishing is the main priority, duck hunting and hunting in general, running, weightlifting and all sports. I like to stay active.
  2. I've heard from countless people and have used the "urinal sentinal" moniker for years. It's not that big of a deal IMO.
  3. Yeah, I haven't seen anything like that in the past either until the past few weeks. Like I said, probably just a string of bad "L" luck. My girlfriend's father has been riding the L for 20+ years everyday and he said he hasn't experienced anything like we have either really. An occasional gambling situation, but besides that, not much. Just weird stuff. I hope my bad luck with the train ends soon.
  4. I've always parked in Wilmette at the Linden station, taken the purple line to Howard, transferred to the Red Line there at Howard, and taken it to Addison, and the reverse in back order. The L solves the parking dilemmas but beware, I've seen some very strange things on that train, even during the day. In the past few weeks (went to a Cubs/Twins, and Cubs/Indians game as well as two of the Brewers/Cubs games this weekend, girlfriend has season tickets in sec. 133, pretty sweet), we have seen two strung-out gentlemen fondling, and unfortunately to put it bluntly, going down on one another (seriously traumatizing), a mugging on the train, and have seen multiple instances of people trying to hustle people with sleight-of-hand gambling tricks on the train. I think I saw four or five people lose $100 bills to these guys yesterday alone. Just beware of the train, that's all I'm saying. We probably just have bad luck with picking train cars, but interesting to say the least.
  5. 6'3 205 lbs as a sophomore? He has some good genes. Great swing.
  6. Take up a hobby, like fishing or golf or anything really. Spend some time outdoors. It's always nice to get a little sun and some fresh air.
  7. I am now facebook friends with Trenni....sweeeeeeet http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. I do believe it's five costumed teenagers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. I had my grill stolen during Sunday night's game. It was only like twenty bucks or something but still, not cool man. I can't believe they opted not to take the tongs that were attached to the lid, they left those laying behind my truck. They are pretty nice tongs. Weird.
  10. I was there as well in section 202, and I would agree with the consensus of 50% cubs fans in the park. My whole section seemed to be Cubs fans, or at the least they were definitely the most vocal of the bunch. A few arguments broke out between cubs/brewers fans, and some threatening words and/or phrases were uttered, but no skirmishes ultimately ensued. It was brutal having to listen to hundreds, if not thousands, of cubs fans rejoicing after the game and singing that god awful "Go cubs go" song. I HATE that song.
  11. Woodman's is a godsend. So so cheap. A place to avoid like the plague on weekends though. Things can get hectic, at least on the west side.
  12. I lived in Sellery two years ago and thought it was great. Tons of fun, close to everything, SERF right across the street. Witte was also always a good time as well. I had a lot of friends that lived there. Of course, I was the consummate partier back then, so that may have skewed my views. Now that I've unfortunately grown older, and (hopefully?) matured, I'd try the lakeshore, but to experience Madison for what it's known for, I'd shoot for the SE dorms. Ogg and Smith are both really slick as well. Air conditioning is really worth its weight in gold sometimes.
  13. Yes, football gamedays are just awesome, no other way to put it. 100,000+ people decked out in red consuming the entire downtown, parties every few houses, tailgating everywhere. Beer flowing like water, nothing else like it. The football experience in itself should be enough to sway you in favor of the UW.
  14. Definitely go the UW route. I'm sure I have a biased opinion, but picking UW was the best choice I made. I was accepted into Marquette as well, but being from the suburbs of Milwaukee, I just needed to get away from home. Being away from Miller Park is a downfall but I can shoot down 94 and make a game in an hour and 15 minutes tops. The athletics are top-notch (Marquette doesn't even have a football team!). You can easily assimilate yourself into the campus life; for 40,000 people that go here, the campus seems tiny. You'll meet, see, and interact with a lot of the same people on a daily basis (as everyone falls into routines). The campus is liberal, but there is a somewhat sizable College Republicans group on campus you could always join. As for the dorms, definitely shoot for the SE quadrant (Sellery, Witte, new Ogg, Smith are all good choices). They're typically more "fun" than the lakeshore dorms, which are relatively quiet.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaym...fNotQ5fStreetQ5fLegalQ5f Awesome.
  16. You are not required to stay in the dorms freshman year at the UW, but if you want to meet a lot of new people (as is the goal with most when they go off to college), you're definitely best off living in the dorms. However, one year is usually sufficient. Lots of rules, and the whole anti-drinking stigma kind of gets to you after a while (not that college, or specifically the UW, is all about drinking).
  17. So I've recently started seeing a girl who is from Chicago and is a diehard Cubs fan (and supposedly despises the Brewers). She seems pretty great so far minus the whole cubs thing, and her family actually has four Cubs season tickets roughly 15 rows behind the Cubs dugout in the first level. Do I keep her, and live with the Cubs love (and hopefully, many tickets to Brewers-Cubs games at Wrigley), or drop her now before things get too involved???
  18. So did you work at Miller Brands or Beer Capitol?
  19. Isn't it between 1 and 400? But anyways, I'll guess 111.
  20. $85 for a signature that takes them 2 seconds to complete? Oof. I was never big into autographs anyways, but with prices like that, I'll stay far far away. Continued here: viewtopic.php?f=68&t=30531
  21. The dash speakers in my Grand Cherokee are awful as well. I thought it was just my vehicle, didn't realize it was a widespread issue. Hmmm......
  22. I think the reason for this is because most of us here have a love for baseball, whether it be playing back in the day, or watching/following major league ball now. It's kind of a common theme to basketball. I see a largely abnormal # of people above 6'4" (read: people who played bball in high school/college) attending bball events and/or playing some ball at the local gym. It's a common interest. Most of us didn't cut it in baseball for some reason or another and have latched onto the pro game to satisfy our baseball cravings which is why you see a strange # of people that had/have baseball talent on this site/thread.
