  1. There have been some games where something good happens every time I walk out of the room, and they suck when I'm in the room. So I turn up the volume in my room and listen while I do some work in the living room.
  2. Yeah, we discussed this a little after the first few games, so the opinion doesn't have anything to do with his performance. I thought he looked noticeably heavier in the first game of the year.
  3. But since their position normally directly relates to where they would play in the big leagues, wouldn't Melvin have most of the say in those matters?
  4. So my opinions, and only my opinions, aren't good enough for you? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. Because Seth McClung gets batters out. He's a batter-getter-outter. You guys just don't understand this concept.
  6. By my count, one person on here has made a comment on that, and I don't see any reason to call him names. Besides, it was a quick remark, hardly worth talking about. We have better things to criticize Ned about.
  7. So he wouldn't have to fire Yost after Yost heard about it from everyone else. Just imagine managing someone, having to fire them, but having them find out because someone that wasn't supposed to know leaked it. But then you still have to fire them...how much more uncomfortable is it after that? Now project it a little as the leak was broadcast in the regional and then national media. I imagine that makes it a little more uncomfortable. But seriously, I'm not actually claiming that this happened, and I'm not gonna say I can "verify with my source" or something like that. It's just a gut feeling that I have that I felt like sharing, so just take it as that.
  8. Not sure if it matters, but if we're talking about the Dunn incident, it wasn't JSonline or Haudricourt that blamed us...if I recall it was WSSP.
  9. Well, to be fair, some people are already calling for Melvin as well. I'm not exactly in that camp, but anyway... If they fire Yost and bring in Kremblas or Simmons on an interim basis with the intention of reviewing their work and also looking around this next offseason, I will be happy. I don't necessarily think that firing Yost is gonna propel us into the playoffs this year, but I think it's best for the long-term development of our young players. I'm just getting tired of seeing everyone but Braun accept their mistakes.
  10. I have to think when things like this start getting put out there, Doug and Mark gotta start taking notice. To be quite honest, and I know it's probably an odd theory, but I still think yesterday was the day, but Doug changed his mind when BadgerBlogger and Haudricourt decided they wanted to beat him to the punch. Nobody tells Doug Melvin what to do! Not nobody, not no how!
  11. Well, to be fair, they lost Soriano for awhile. Unfortunately for us they lost him when he was a black hole at the top of the lineup, and when he came back he remembered that he's kinda good.
  12. Anyone think Kremblas was shaking in the knees a little knowing all the talk that's going on? Even if there's nothing to any of it, I imagine it had to be in the back of Frank's mind.
  13. This entire argument is getting tiring. Not everyone is claiming that Yost leaving will be some immediate and simple fix for all the team's problems. But that doesn't mean we should just sit here while he puts on the "all is well" front and the team is getting worse every day. It's not about fixing the team for tomorrow, it's about not wasting all kinds of talent in the long run behind a crappy manager. Many posters are providing quality examples of why they want Yost gone that have nothing to do with thinking it's a simple fix. I don't know why this is continually ignored.
  14. Actually, it's the actions themselves that make it easy to dislike him. The lame way he defends those actions is just the topper.
  15. Then all managers are severely overpaid. I don't see any reason to say something like this. I don't agree with your opinion, but I understand why you've come to that opinion. I just don't think it's necessary to make it seem like we're just jumping on some kind of cool kid's bandwagon.
  16. Man, the posters commenting on TH's last blog sure have a thing for him. Geez, wipe your nose off a little.
  17. Fair enough. I was just thinking that Jack Z might not want to be thought of as one of "Doug's guys."
  18. What I find strange is that if this Badger Blogger actually wanted Yost fired, he/she may have prevented it from happening today just by trying to beat the rest of the world to it.
  19. Melvin said this to TH on the phone. That had to be the most uncomfortable phone call ever.
  20. Yeah, now that you mention it, today is really starting to feel like the day we supposedly "traded for Adam Dunn".
  21. Yahoo sports just jumped on board, and as of right now 47% of fans say Yost will be the first to go out of Yost, Leyland, Guillen, and Randolph. That picture of Yost is priceless. http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/a4e35d8c923681a251675360cfe4d2af638a1e2.pjpg
  22. At some point, when we're more than 1/4 of the way through the season and the manager keeps saying all is well, someone needs to step up and say something. I very much appreciated that Braun didn't name names of either players or coaches that he was referring to, but he got his point across nonetheless, and I'm anticipating a positive result from it. I agree. Braun is clearly saying that something needs to be done, even if that something is just a general change of attitude. And who better to say it that one of the only guys producing? Attanasio and Melvin respected Braun enough to give him this new contract, so I imagine they respect him enough to see him as the collective voice of the team. I hate to say it since you're an ESPN guy, but Deadspin already beat you to it http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. Many people on here have their mind made up on many things. I have my mind made up that I want Yost gone. But anyone is welcome to disagree. I'm a jazz musician and credit union manager. I've heard people rip on both jazz music and credit unions. I completely disagree, but that doesn't mean they don't have the right to state how they feel about it. I guess I don't understand why it's so hard to read. Perhaps you're not reaching the people that are arguing with you, but that doesn't mean no one read your posts and took note of what you said. Anyway, back to the Yost firing. I keep leaving the site thinking that if I wait long enough without logging back in, I'll come back and it will be official. Or I'm at least waiting for word from Mark or Doug. Is there any reason why they wouldn't have made a statement by now if this is false?
  24. Who knows, maybe this will give Ned a kick in the butt to realize that he's on a short leash. Maybe he'll stop talking down to every reporter that questions anything he does. Maybe he'll learn something. Probably not, but if he doesn't get fired, then I sure hope he sees it that way. Anyway, you guys are missing the most important part of Haudricourt's story: I think I just threw up a little.
  25. I would love to have Cirillo, honestly. Maybe as the 3rd base coach when Sveum gets dropped.
