  1. ...someone that just started watching the Brewers says "Tony Gwynn Jr. is really fast, he's going to break out this season"... ...people start talking with a different accent. I'm not sure what it is, but there's a change in Wisconsin accents between football season and baseball season...
  2. That's right RyDogg. They want to use that really old-school bank on Main St. (can't remember what kind of bank it is) to film the bank robbery scene. A buddy of mine owns the New Moon Cafe right across the street from the bank and he was telling me a bunch of stuff about it because they possibly have to use the New Moon's roof for "snipers". Sounds like it's gonna be pretty cool.
  3. Survivor. Basically all of reality TV. How can you possibly have reality TV when the people know the camera is on them? Mostly I just can't stand the reality shows that make it seem like "SOMEONE MIGHT DIE TONIGHT"...are you serious? As for movies...A.I. was the most annoying movie I've ever seen. It should have been done in 1 1/2 hours. In fact, it had the perfect ending at that point in the movie. Then it kept going...and going...
  4. I say we make dead center field into "Fielder's Fury"
  5. Anyone know if the Spring Training games will be carried on Gamecast?
  6. Vaughn's Valley...oh wait...
  7. "No matter what, you got to love your parents," he said. "That's in the Bible. I need to save this quote for another site that is in no way affiliated with this one http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I agree that this is something that should be kept in the family, and every time Cecil opens his mouth I wish he would stop and think about it. If he would just shut up for a few years, maybe Prince would give him a call.
  8. I had the same problem about a year ago when I was living in a different apartment complex, and the tech seemed to be blaming it on the apartments and not their equipment. There's one thing you might want to look into if it gives you any extended problems. At one point I basically went 2 weeks with my service being off and on...more off than on. I called Time Warner and said I wanted a refund for the 2 weeks. I basically told the guy that I was paying for a service that they weren't providing, and he gave me a 2 week credit on my next bill. As for how to fix it, my problem was not the modem. I don't know exactly what the tech did, but he was working more with the cables than he was the modem. I got 3 different modems and had the same problems, but as soon as he messed with the cables I never had a problem again.
  9. That's pretty much how I remember it, too. I'm sure if you pulled out the thread again, it would show that the majority of posters saw Inman as a #4 or #5 starter, the same that he's being projected right now. I think most people were just upset because we gave up 3 prospects for a relief pitcher rental, not as much that we lost our ace for the next 15 years.

  12. TRAVIS OF THE COSMOS! I rule you.
  13. As I said about Braun last year in the in-game chat...25 years, $500 million. Book it right now. By the time he gets to the end of the contract and is getting ready to break A-rod's all-time home run record, he'll be a bargain http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. I don't disagree that this happens, but I disagree that it was the case with Inman. Baseball America had him in their Top 100 prospects in '07.

  17. I think it also depends on how common the first name is, and how close you are to your sister in age. If your sister is a year younger than you and her name is something obscure, and now you're dating someone else that's relatively the same age and same name, it could be kinda creepy. But if your sister is 5 years older than you and her name is Amanda or Becky or something like that, I think you'll be okay.
  18. Did I just hear him say he wants to restructure his contract?

  20. Link On one hand, it's hard to listen to anything Gary Sheffield says. On the other, I hope Prince listens to him just this once. From the article: Sheffield said he will tell players to hire whom they want, but will share his experience as one of Boras' clients. "Total hell," he said. "I shouldn't have ever introduced myself to him. Period. Bad person."
  21. Of course this has to happen when it's gonna be below zero. I'll probably still venture out because I hate missing this kind of stuff.
  22. There is a free version, they just don't make it easy to find on the site because they want you to buy the version that costs money. The version you got is probably one that monitors your computer and prevents spyware, while the free version will find it and remove it after the fact.
  23. That's close, but not quite it. It's not really a dissatisfaction of how the world works, but more an annoyance with groups like this that claim to be doing the same thing that we are. Perhaps I phrased it wrong, but to be honest, they can have their millions...i don't care. I just don't want them claiming to be doing the same thing and putting in the same amount of work as I have. Thank you so much for looking him up http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif To be honest, I don't completely agree with his quote either (it's a bit too extreme for me), but for what I was saying, it just fit. He has some great quotes, though. The piece of music you're referring to (sitting silently at the piano) is called 4'33", because, basically, you sit at the piano for 4 minutes and 33 seconds. While it sounds stupid, and I actually view it as a bit overboard, the idea is that everything is music. The legend is that the inspiration came to him when he was sitting in a practice room and he heard the hum of his nervous system. He immediately realized that there is music all around us, at all times. Edit: And before anyone says anything like "well if EVERYthing is music, then Nickleback is too", that would be missing the point that Cage was trying to make. The idea behind 4'33" is that even the hum of our nervous system and the sound of our breathing can be given thought musically, and if listened to very deeply and carefully, it can have musical meaning.
