  1. I haven't seen Rice Krispies Treats in quite awhile. Do they still make it? The last time I had it, it kinda seemed like it was getting stale. Growing up, we usually tore through a box of Golden Grahams or Cinnamon Toast Crunch, then on to the Honeycomb. If that ran out, there was always about 3 boxes of Corn Flakes. I always liked Corn Flakes with bananas. All things considered, Honeycomb has to be the best cereal of all time. It's always tasty, doesn't get soggy too quickly, and is ridiculously cheap.
  2. Is this a sign for an optimistic year from Mr QL? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif 1. Ennder already covered it. 2. I'm not sure what having a great batting average has to do with getting guys on base. Weeks has had terrible batting averages but gets on base very well.
  3. Honest question here: If Braun goes through the entire process, goes through his arby years, then leaves...how much would we have paid him during that time? I realize it's a different amount and will be based on several factors during his arby years, but does anyone have a guess? I just wonder if it will end up being more expensive or if it will be cheaper to offer him a contract now, depending on what that contract is.
  4. I think Mo Vaughn and David Ortiz are common comparisons. That said, if this is a 5 year offer, I don't think there's really that much to worry about. By the time his contract finishes up, he'll be ready to take on a DH role somewhere. Who knows, maybe the NL will pickup the DH by then http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif This is completely unfair. How much do you know about Prince's community involvement? I agree that Braun would be a better choice to lock up long-term, but it's because his athletic ability makes it seem like he would have a more consistent career and would be consistently worth the amount he's being paid. Not because I think Prince is somehow "all about the bombs and money". I wouldn't think a player that plays without the amount of passion that we've seen from Prince would be all about the money. Prince is about winning games, and to me that shows a lot of concern for the welfare of the organization. Edit: And if you're going to compare someone to Javon Walker, it better start with Sheffield. I'm not about to put Prince even remotely near that level yet.
  5. All over, and I didn't buy a thing. I'm almost proud of myself.
  6. He did kinda save himself after making the Dusty pick... He's basically saying that he doesn't really think Baker deserves it, but since the Reds will inevitably win more games than last year, Baker will be at the helm of the most improved team, which somehow makes him manager of the year.
  7. I wouldn't doubt it since Vaughn's Valley lasted at least another year after he left.
  8. Well, it's not like he left via free agency in the normal way. He didn't jet for bigger money or anything like that. They cut him loose.
  9. Did you wash your hands first?
  10. This is a really bad woot-off. Anyone buy anything yet?
  11. Isn't Villy's change considered a circle change?
  12. Man, I'm still trying to figure out my remote control helicopter from the last woot-off. And the wireless keyboard I got kinda sucked. But I'll still probably buy something. Ugh.
  13. I used to drag bunt all the time on '07. When I played with the Brewers, TGJ could pretty much get on whenever he wanted by laying down a drag bunt. My RTTS player would go on 30 game hitting streaks because I would get to his last at-bat without a hit and just lay down a drag bunt. He wasn't very good at drag bunting, but he was really fast, and that seemed to be all that mattered in last year's game. I agree that it does seem harder for the '08 game. As someone mentioned before, I think they base it much more of drag bunting ability than they did last year.
  14. I am absolutely hooked on conquer club now. You've single-handedly made me completely unproductive.
  15. Yeah, I'm going to echo the same thing everyone else here is saying just because I can. It's one thing for him to be misinformed and make a mistake. But enough people have informed him now, so at the very least he could apologize to Baldelli. He doesn't have to do anything, nor does anyone have to watch, read, or listen to anything from Fox.
  16. I just think this list carries a lot of misperception. No one thinks of Counsell as one of the bad guys. We just don't want him to start. I think most fans here like the fact that he can work the count and draw walks while playing above average defense all over the infield. That's a quality bench player. Part of the problem with Vargas and Capuano (before the injury) is the fact that many feel Villy is a better pitcher than them but he'll have to go down so that one of them can be in the rotation. And to be real about it, Vargas just isn't that good compared to other pitchers we have. I think Kendall and Cameron basically receive good marks around here. Cameron was highly thought of by many when he was signed...some were just concerned about his suspension. Kendall is...well, let's talk more about what Kendall isn't. He's not Johnny "First Pitch" Estrada, and he can actually run. He's not a constant double play waiting to happen. Gagne showed up on the Mitchell Report...after he was signed for $10 million by a team that can't afford to throw out $10 million contracts to guys that may have only been good while taking HGH. I sincerely hope that he returns to his dominant form, but you have to admit that it's not unreasonable to question the situation. I think a lot of people like Zach Jack, but don't see him as a major league pitcher yet. And his windup is just hard to watch. I keep thinking he's going to punch himself in the face or something. The only thing I have to disagree with from the so-called "good guys" is Rivera. I don't think many here really view him as a major league catcher. Apparently the team doesn't either since Rottino is "the best catching prospect" we have, according to Melvin. Overall, as I noted before, you've basically taken the good players and said that we see them as "good guys", and taken the players that aren't so good and labeled them as "bad guys". Was there a point to this?
  17. Just one...Stadium Sauce
  18. So, is your claim that people on this site like the good players and don't like the bad players? Am I missing something here?
  19. That's a lot of cheeseburgers.
  20. So, "stomach flu"? I was under the impression that it was influenza, so I'm not sure why his stomach would have to settle down. And if it is influenza, it would take him much longer to recover than if it was a stomach thing.
  21. Yeah, I'm not sure what you guys have in Milwaukee, but on Green Bay stations we have Tom Mahoney and George Graphos...not exactly beauty queens. I understand that when it happens it's a TV gimmick, but there's nothing wrong with saying that the gimmick is unprofessional. I'd be a little ticked if I studied and worked as hard as a meteorologist has to (no jokes please) and I was told that some hot girl with no weather knowledge is going to go on TV to tell the people what I found. I would also be a little ticked if I was an attractive woman that put in all of that same study and hard work, only to find out that most people think I only have my job based on attractiveness because Fox News does it that way. As for Hench...seriously, if you write a column called Hench's Hitlist, and all you do is bash players, you lead a sorry life. I'm not sure how a person can do something like that and take pride in his work.
  22. Ick...that can't be good. I'm lucky enough to work for a financial institution and we have a great financial planner, but since you're in California I can't really help you much along those lines. Not sure if you want to disclose this or not, but if anyone here has any knowledge on these things, they may want to know your age, as well as how long you plan to work before retiring.
  23. I'm in! Thanks Pedro http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. My best advice would be to see a financial planner. A lot of times they will give a free analysis for your first time, especially if you carry an account with the institution.
