  1. Am I dreaming, or did there used to be a slightly carbonated sports drink called All-Sport?
  2. Most of my girlfriend's family has this as well. There is medication out there for it...it just takes awhile to work. But it's out there.
  3. Already sent him an email http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Are we including the manager in this? Francona made $1.65 mil last year, and I believe is set to make $1.75 mil this year.
  5. I'm not sure what this has to do with anything. Yeah, there are other people that make a lot of money besides baseball players. No one said otherwise. But if Julia Roberts starts boycotting a making of her own movie because the producer, who is already making a lot of money, didn't get some extra bonus...then yeah, we'll get a little pissed at her, too. The bottom line for me is that they're boycotting about it. BOYTCOTTING! Why would you boycott for something as minimal as this? Because a few 6-7 figure coaches aren't getting another 40 grand? That's a cause for boycotting? Seriously, pick a cause that actually makes a difference in the grand scheme of things. People aren't mad that baseball players and coaches make more than us; we're mad because they make more than us and rub it in our faces by whining about not getting bonuses on top of making more than us. It shows how out of contact they really are with the rest of normal society.
  6. I think it would be cool just to hear that Simmons was given an interview. It's at least worth a shot, right? #1, it can't get any worse. And #2, the guy is just entertaining. Seriously, if Walken can win the presidency, I would be so set. Between Bill Simmons press conferences and Chris Walken State of the Union addresses, my life would be complete.
  7. Sweet, that would make mine the JAWROF. It's got a nice ring to it http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif So please, someone calculate the JAWROF of the following statements. I find it absurd to ever look at how a team starts doing record-wise after a player returns. I also blame the media for most Cappy hatred since they couldn't get over the whole "he hasn't won a game in 9000 tries" crap. Gotta love the world of ESPN where "wins" is the only meaningful stat. There were games in there where he was pitching 7-8 good innings and getting a no-decision. I'm not trying to say Cappy had a decent season, but I don't think it's as bad as it was made to be.
  8. I'm in. Tennessee, Wisconsin, Texas, and UCLA in the Final 4, with Texas winning it all. I've never liked picking #1 seeds, but I like UCLA this year. And Wisconsin has a pretty nice bracket if they want a chance to make it.
  9. No disrespect to those that have had to deal with this, but I agree with others that this entire thread has the ultimate "cringe" effect. Especially Kennyfelder's post describing the surgery. Seriously, I've shuddered at least 3 times while typing this.
  10. I think that's why he included a question mark. You can't really debate it, but if you had a fun conversation talking about it, I would bet Tiger's name would come up.
  11. Harry Colon Always felt sorry for the guy.
  12. Man, between Matzui and Pie, this has been a strange spring. At what point do they just stop telling us the nature of the injury?
  13. Thank...God. The only downside is that I won't be able to have my special Claudio Vargas "get all of my housework done" nights. I've always wondered how he would look in a middle/long relief role. I don't have any stats to back this up, but my gut feeling says that he always seemed to look decent for 4 or 5 innings, then all hell would break loose. 'Course by that time it was 9:45 and I was getting ready for bed http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. Not to throw myself into the conversation, but I was always under the assumption that it's proper etiquette to post your own links to back up your claims. Especially if you're questioned on them.
  15. You can't imagine how annoying it is to hear "Play Freebird!" when you play in a reggae band. Seriously, people.
  16. Thanks, Pedro. Count me in http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. The absolute worst choice to play Daisy Duke.
  18. Anchor Steam should win hands-down. I agree the pale ales are a little over-represented, though.
  19. I think the difference between Braun's "cockiness" and that of the players we've all come to hate is that Braun includes his respect for teammates. He knows he's good, but he doesn't have to put others down in order to prop himself up and make himself look better. His quote is basically saying that he knows how good of a hitter Prince is, and he knows how much of a difference it will be with Prince batting before him (from experience, if anything). It's a different kind of humbleness. And I thought that Lauren girl was still doing shows post "the Hills" on MTV. Does this mean Braun might make an MTV appearance?
  20. I'm getting annoyed with chips and dip. I buy a whole bag of chips and a whole jar of dip, and as the jar gets lower and more difficult to maneuver, the chips get smaller. This makes no sense. The thick, strong chips should be at the bottom of the bag so that they can reach the bottom of the jar, and the crumbs should be on the top, thus making the dipping experience harmonious.
  21. Chris Capuano just hits home runs.
  22. Last year my guy was hitting about .375 in AAA and was a 30-30 guy...and they sent me down to AA. Sometimes the game just does stupid stuff like that. When I finally made it to the majors, I would complain all the time about my playing time, and the manager would say: "(insert name) has been hitting really well lately, so we're going to keep him starting for now." Even though (insert name) would be batting .220. I stuck it to 'em that year though. When I went down to AA i hit 13 HRs in my first 22 at-bats. I was batting over .800. It was basically about what Prince would do right now in rookie ball.
  23. There's one thing we're missing here, too. Not all Brewer fans know enough about the Brewers to know who Boras is and that he's Prince's agent. But if they read in the paper that "Prince" turned down a specific offer, it will make Prince look bad to those people. Most of us here know that Boras is a jerk, so we put a lot of the blame on him. The last thing we want to do is make all of those 16 year old girls that just became Brewer fans last year and might buy Prince's jersey think that Prince is the jerk.
  24. That would make her so much cooler if she was wearing a Braun shirt.
