  1. Bummer...except for the part about Coffey. That I am pleased with. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/41692512.html According to the article, Looper will start the home opener.
  2. Seriously, the US really needs to decide if they are in the WBC to actually win it - as has been mentioned before. If not, why bother? I mean Jeter playing SS over Rollins when J RO is DH'ing. Come on! If Rollins is at short he makes that play on Ichiro easy and the US is still only down 2. And Longoria getting the PH AB against a RHP over Victorino? Joke
  3. Just an FYI for those outside of the milwaukee area - I live in EC and have DirecTv and according to the guide the game will be on FSN-WI here (channel 669). I also set the DVR for the MLBN just in case we get Kent Hrbek Outdoors or something instead on FSN
  4. Oh why did you have to resurrect that memory from the deep recesses of my brain?
  5. Woulda been nice to have the chance to find out though
  6. Another nice outing for Coffey. And Kendall with a 3 bagger and a HR?! Wow
  7. Not good... http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/41653037.html
  8. McGehee has played several times at 2nd base this spring and has been more than solid. He made a spectacular play there up the middle the other day. Just out of curiousity, have you actually seen them play this spring at all or are you just basing what your are saying off of numbers and what you have previously known/seen from these players? I'm not trying to be fesecious either. I just got back from a week down there and Lamb looks old, stiff, rigid, and slow. The guy has nothing left. McGehee looks the exact opposite. His bat looks quick and his swing crisp and he looks hungry. And he is a nice defensive player. He has shown that he is good at 3rd and has played nicely so far at 2nd. I doubt filling at 1st 3 or 4 times this year if he had to would be a problem. Plus the guy can catch in a pinch. As far as Julio goes, I agree with Ennder. The guy just isn't good and has continued to show that this spring. I would MUCH rather have DiFelice. You don't want Coffey why? He pitched great for us in sept last year. He throws hard and has a good slider. Not a bad guy to have
  9. Per the jsonline: Jason Kendall C Tony Gwynn Jr. CF Corey Hart RF Prince Fielder 1B Bill Hall 3B Brad Nelson LF Casey McGehee 2B Mike Lamb DH Alcides Escobar SS Per the orange county register: ANGELS 3B Chone Figgins 2B Howie Kendrick DH Vladimir Guerrero CF Torii Hunter 1B Kendry Morales RF Gary Matthews Jr. LF Juan Rivera SS Maicer Izturis C Bobby Wilson RHP Nick Adenhart Right-hander Dave Bush will start for Milwaukee, and there was a bit of news about Bush today from manager Ken Macha, who is planning to pair Bush with Kendall's back-up, Mike Rivera, to start the season. It's a move to rest Kendall a bit more often this season, and is based on the small sample of success for Bush while Rivera is behind the plate. David Riske, Jorge Julio and Wes Littleton are scheduled to work an inning apiece behind Bush, who is slated for six innings or 90 pitches.
  10. That's exactly what I was wondering when I was looking at the Gameday PBP

  12. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/41454137.html This should make for some interesting discussion...
  13. Sounds like some pretty sound reasoning from Macha to me. And it appears that Villa is much more understanding of how Macha is handling it than some of the people posting in this thread
  14. Rickie Weeks 2B Chris Duffy LF J.J. Hardy SS Prince Fielder 1B Corey Hart RF Mike Cameron CF Bill Hall 3B Jason Kendall C Dave Bush RHP Lindsay Gulin, Sam Narron and Chris Narveson are scheduled to pitch behind Bush today.
  15. Per the js. No Man-Ram today... BREWERS C Jason Kendall 2B Rickie Weeks SS JJ Hardy RF Corey Hart 3B Bill Hall 1B Mike Lamb CF Lorenzo Cain LF Brent Krause LHP Manny Parra DODGERS CF Juan Pierre C Russell Martin RF Andre Ethier 1B James Loney 3B Mark Loretta 2B Blake DeWitt LF Delwyn Young SS Juan Castro LHP Clayton Kershaw
  16. I was thinking the same thing. It looks like an 8 yr old signed it
  17. Not to nitpick, but I think the game is actually at 3:05 CDT. The only reason I know is I am going to the game today and I had to doublecheck after seeing your post I love this quote from Macha: Macha was asked if he'd use the designated hitter Saturday against Los Angeles so the Dodgers could get some at-bats for Manny Ramirez in that role. Macha quickly said no. "We've got guys who are candidates for this team that are going to earn their way through an ability to pinch-hit," Macha said. "I want to see what they can do. We'd certainly like to accommodate everybody but the first accommodation is the Milwaukee Brewers." If Ramirez wants at-bats, Macha suggested: "Stand his (butt) out in left field. He can get as many at-bats as he wants. Isn't that where he's going to play during the season?"
  18. Thanks MJ! I never did get an answer on that til now. DirecTv is coming on the 18th to hook me up - looking forward to it!
  19. Well its been one helluva day! Started off by hiking up Camelback Mountain with my girlfriend and I proposed at the top and she said yes! Then we watched the Crew clobber Greinke! If Duffy doesn't have a spot locked up I would be shocked. His bat looks very quick and smooth. McGehee also has a nice stroke and hit a couple balls hard today. He looks very comfotable and like he belongs. I would suffice it to say that Prince has his timing down. Wow! There was a bloop hit to left today that Trot did not appear to try too hard for. Gallardo looked great! He just continues to blow that straight fastball by people. Hoffman threw another clean inning. Got some great pics of him. DiFelice continues to impress! 3 IP and 6 k's! Rickie absolutely crushed his HR. Got Gamel, Nelson, Duffy, and Macha to sign after the game. Got there late so I didn't get anyone beforehand. Going again tomorrow vs the Dodgers. Will post more
  20. Well I'm off to my the first game of my trip. I will post any observations I may have after. Looking forward to seeing YO today and Hall back tomorrow!
  21. Agreed. Here I thought I was the only one. X ellence - I tend not to put a whole lot of stock in numbers that Weeks put up in rookie and A ball at this point. What I would love is to see him do that this year - I can dream.
  22. Aaahhh! A voice of reason! Let's just hope that the powers that be see it the same way...
  23. And how's that working out for him? One of those OPS's over 1.050 came from a total of 6 games and 22 AB's. in 2007-after he had been with the Brewers for 3 seasons. I'm just saying it may be too early to dismiss him. 92 rbi at AAA last year and maybe he builds on that and takes the next step, I'm not saying I totally disagree with you. Just saying that stranger things have happened and McGehee has some tools
