  1. Haha, another classic. Yeah! Maxwell Walla was overlooked in my book.
  2. Now that was pretty good. Well done, Oxy. I was fooled for a moment there.
  3. My $0.02 on the last four videos posted. I can definitly see what they saw in Josh Prince. I liked his swing. Very simple and he is not a slap hitter. He has drive in that quicker-than-I-expected swing. Match that with his speed and you are certainly allowed to be optimistic. Results have not matched, but I have more hope then 30 minutes ago. Hunter Morris uses a huge bat. His swing could really speed up if he scaled down. As is, it is not slow, more average. That is why he keeps a decent batting average. The guy swings at everything though. Hunter is a monster, who if he learns to take his time in the box, certainly has everything else you need to become successful. Khris Davis really seemed unorthodox to me. He has a quick bat and plenty of drive, I just hate the set-up. D'Vontrey Richardson is built like a ballplayer but he is very raw #Duh. He has a toe tap that I do not care for, but everything else is better than I expected. His back leg drive and very good bat speed make-up for his lack of baseball skill. They seem to be asking him to bunt a lot.
  4. Man, Kentrail kind of hitches a bit at the start, but I like everything else I see there. I think his numbers really undersell his abilities. Super quick bat, very nice trigger, and a swing that creates fantastic drive. Get him out of Florida. Remember, he hit at an elite level in WI. .330 with a ton of extra base hits (iirc).
  5. There ya go Malcom Dowel. First extra base hit. Only hitting .202 but getting on at .322. That is pretty amazing if you ask me. Shows some good promise.
  6. Which is why I have him way, way down the list. There is something there, it just probably will never come out. I know MTBrew is still hopeful, if not steadfast. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. He has too many MLB AB's to qualify as a rookie anymore. The cutoff is 140-150, I think. He is certainly a legit major league ballplayer. I would have him right near Taylor Green if he was still eligible. I have no problem if people include him on their lists. I just wanted the extra space for D'Vo! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. Sure, I have an hour to kill. No way Austin Ross sniffs my top-20 and Rivas has been exposed in AAA. I am holding out hope for Amaury, but he will not be in my top-10. There are certainly some DSL kids making some noise and Orland Arcia is on my top-10. Osmel Perez is close, but it is hard to trust DSL pitching stats. I don't count Gamel because he is not rookie eligible anymore. Gagnon has to be considered and I have spots reserved for the top-3 picks from this draft. 1. Wily Peralta: 3 major league caliber pitches with a stud body and few durability concerns. Wily is a legit top-100 prospect in all of baseball. 2. Tyler Thornburg: Dominating, but IMO, still truly unchallenged. 3. Kyle Heckathorn: Doing everything we had hoped from Arnett. 4. Cody Scarpetta: I like his FB:CB combo more than most. It is a major league caliber combo. 5. Khris Davis: Best pure bat in the system. 6. Taylor Green: Should be up already. 7. Caleb Gindl: 22 and keeps hitting. Reports on bat speed are always something like "Quicker bat than I would have expected." 8. Nick Bucci: The organization loves him. Hoping he doesn't go all Inman in the upper minors 9. Orlando Arcia: Huge upside plus big numbers on a pitcher's island. I think Ruben Ozuna's success in the states gives me more confidence in Orlando. 10. D'Vontrey Richardson: Biggest upside in the system. Keeps slowly getting better. He is my pick to explode in Huntsville next year. Next tier: Nelson, Ruben Ozuna, Gennett, Kentrail Davis, Gian Rizzo, Osmel Perez, Komatsu, Schafer, Rivas, Rogers, Morris, Nick Ramirez, Yaddy Rivera, Santo Manzanillo, Tyler Roberts, Renaldo Jenkins, Max Walla, FDLC, Brooks Hall, Halton, Drew Gagnon, Edit 3: Fiers, Ross Next tier: Arnett, Farris, Walker, Mittlestaedt, Hawn, Dennis, Neda, "The Stherv", Haydel, Mondesi Jr., Matt Miller, Joel Dicent, Milton Gomez, David Goforth, Holle, Marzec, Alan Williams, Cam Garfield, Katin Big-time sleepers: Jalen Harris, Malcom Dowell, Elvis Rubio, Joel Pierce, Michael Schaub, Dustin Houle, Tyler Cravy, Carlos Sosa, Alex Jones, Danny Keller, RJ Johnson Overall, I like our system. I really do. It is super bottom heavy right now, but there is upside littered throughout. The 3 pitchers at the top all deserve more love (nationally), imo. Add in our top-3 from the draft, and we are really cooking. Edit 2: Forgot my boy Kenny Allison. Big-time sleeper for sure. I will always remember him squaring up Wily Peralta pretty good in the Rising Stars Game. Chad Stang too. See, this system has some possible gems.
  9. Hall's periphs are not the best. In fact, everything is pretty crappy except he gives up less than 1 HR/9. He was striking more guys out in Arizona, but nothing special. I appreciate the modest success, but he needs to show me more. Great game today, Brooks! More like that will definitely help his cause.
  10. Fiers basically sits at 90. But he knows how to pitch or whatever they say about guys without good velocity.
  11. We have a lot of work to do with regards to how we fans evaluate players. This thread proves it. The same people that stood with Yuni are now against Greinke. Gee, reeaaal surprising. Who knows what Greinke's line will look like in September, but it is very difficult for me not to be optimistic.
  12. Wisco facing a tough SP tonight in Billo. Stang moves up to the two hole. Kentrail Davis really isn't having that bad of a year. A two week hot stretch would make his .251/.334/.366 line look a lot better. D'Vontrey is in the 5 hole tonight. He is hitting a cool .400 over his last 10. Another hot week and his line will look really good (current .701 OPS). Ft. Meyers isn't loaded with hitters, so Austin Ross should have a good game tonight. 2 scoreless so far.
  13. See, I thought so, but I went with it. Just a homer short of the cycle tonight for "the Stherv".
  14. Max Walla: .288/.356/.379 is bouncing back nicely this season. Ruben Ozuna has kept right on hitting in Helena. Not enough is being said about him. I am sure the P50 guys will change that soon. Kenny Allison might also remind some of Lee Haydel. .286/.375/.286 Nick Ramirez is off to a decent start. .333/.355/.400 but 1:8 BB:K Yaddy sitting at 1 BB and 25 K for Helena this season. 4 booms though.
  15. Sthervin Matos (17) and Gian Rizzo (17) carry the Cervercitos tonight. Rizzo has an ERA of 1.16 through 31 IP. 34:7 K:BB. "Bootstrap" Bill Turner is in a slump.
  16. As Mass alluded to, this is something we have not seen since Yo was chugging through the system.
  17. Long posts are best drafted in a word doc. Fantastic post! I would have picked Khris Davis in BC and Taylor Green for Nashville.
  18. "Because it doesn't fit with my preconceived notions" is not an acceptable argument. Unless you can prove that your preconceived notions are always 100% correct. There may be valid criticisms of WAR out there, but this is not one. No, preconcreived notion are what BF.net is all about. Watching the games, you can not come to a conclusion that Greinke and Narveson have been better than Wolf this year. You can use all the crap you want and there is no way you come to that result. Unless you combine 2-3 of these "fictional stats" that when you use the right combination of them, can make almost anyone look good. Please, tell me something else I can or cannot do. Just looking at the K:BB and K/9 numbers are a pretty good indicator that Grienke and Narv-dogg have been more valuable. "Fictional Stats"? What the heck does that even mean? Seriously. Edit: Oh wait, you're the Yuni B guy....I see clearly now. This conversation is like beating a dead horse. Think whatever the heck makes you happy. Just don't tell me what to think unless you want to perform a proper statistical analysis.
  19. I think they might be stretching Goforth out. 3 innings tonight. 0 ER but 0 K's. That would be interesting. Edit: Kenny Allison with his 5th walk already. He got a hit too. I see him having a nice season.
  20. Okay, Yaddy is starting to get me excited. 3rd bomb already for Helena. Goforth is making his debut. Maybe MTBrew can find a radar reading for us? Always love the first hand accounts. Edit: Excitement unwarranted? 0 BB's 14 K's through 7 G. Edit 2: Get some Ruben Ozuna! When is paul going to start a thread calling for promotions for Ozuna and Arcia? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. I think you're looking at his BC line. That was his fourth double at Huntsville, plus two triples. Not much power (or patience--only seven walks), to be sure.(Sheepishly signing up for a reading comprehension course) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Schafer has ZERO extra base hits this season before tonight's double. Haydel has 10 out of 79 hits. Komatsu has 16 out of 70. Halton with 26 out of 77. Wilson has 18 out of 68. Scooter was hitting over .300 his last ten games before tonight's. Unfortunately, his OPB and SLG were practical mirror images of is batting average. Very nice to see him go yard. Pretty sure D'Vo is just waiting for is favorite month (August) to come around. He is "Mr. August" if he has another giant late summer month.
