  1. Turn up the heat tonight people! Jennings thrives off of it.
  2. I'm sorry to hear this. Poor fella. Good luck! Just a few thoughts. Maybe there is a pattern here? Could your husband accidently be bringing germs home with him from work? Highly unlikely, just thought I would mention it. Another thing I thought about was possible exposure to heavy metals, mold, or other poisonous reagents. Heavy metal exposure likely would occur either through exposure in the local top soil or the local water. Heavy metals are found in high numbers in older houses too. Old paint, insulation, countertops, masonery, etc, could contain lead among other things. Mold could come in contact with pets just about anywhere; basement, outdoors/rotting trees/stagnant water, water/food dishes or storage, etc. I hope this post doesn't come off as an accusation.....I just thought it might help find a cause. Good luck Viggo!
  3. I moved out of Milwaukee shortly after the 2001 run and I haven't been to the BC since that epic Phili series. Fans in Milwaukee or going to the game; Please get loud! Jennings has mentioned multiple times that he feeds heavily off the crowd. It's gonna be tough to resign Salmons. His skill set is perfectly suited to be a #2 along with one of the big name FA this year. If NY can't get two elite guys, you better bet that they go after Salmons before guys like Rudy Gay or Joe Johnson. Hopefully he just loves it here and gives us a discount, but it isn't really fair to ask him to. Skiles has been brilliant. Mike Woodson better be taking notes. Let's just hope Skiles learned from his mistakes in Chi though. He burnt his guys out there after 2 years. This seems like a group more willing to work their butts off though. Cole Aldrich, or someone similar, could be a decent option for this tram in the draft. We need Bogut insurance, that is for sure. I trust Hammond though, so whatever he thinks. Has he made a bad move since drafting Alexander over Lopez?
  4. Scarpetta had a nice bounce back outing. If he could string a couple together, we will be cookin'.
  5. With the early success of Gennett, The Davis duo, Prince, etc., I am more than willing to have Seid grab bats in the middle rounds. Get a high upside arm in the first. Pitching is the only thing that will take this team to the next level.
  6. Peralta and Rivas induced a ton of ground ball outs today. Cain needs to join Lucroy in AAA.
  7. yfinn6, maybe I should have said, 'this trade keeps getting worse and worse for Cleveland.' But to me, both statements are related. If the players we lost end up being role players or worse, then doesn't the trade become more appealing from the Brewers' perspective? It's not looking like we lost a Hanley or Liriano type of player for a rental (even though many thought we did at the time). How is this not a good thing?
  8. Just want to say that I am very happy with Gindl's placement. Also, welcome Khris Davis, Gennett, and the rest. I'll predict the biggest mover this year is Walla. Next would be Khris Davis.
  9. Crew07, not one person has ever suggested they are rooting for those prospects to fail. The fact is those players' values are dropping because of their performance. You will never let this die, will you?
  10. Crew07, I know you have commented before that getting to the playoffs should not be the goal, winning the WS should be. I agree with you. That said, anything can happen in playoffs. But you gotta get there. I don't really want to rehash all of 2009 either. Maybe we should have traded that package for Greinke or Haren, etc. I can tell you this much though, none would have stepped to the rubber like CC did at the end of 2008. He was Randy Johnson, the Astro, good. He rivaled what Sutcliff did for the Cubs. It was simply amazing. I feel pretty confident in saying that we don't make the playoffs without him.
  11. Owning a resturant?? Wait...... Seriously though, he is as pure a hitter as there is in the league.
  12. I don't want to say it's a big night for Arnett.......but it is. Inspired by Ryan from the Office.
  13. I was pretty intrigued when theY drafted the guy. I thought he could turn into a bit of a steal in the (10 round?) draft. I never really understood why he didn't get my run. With that said, not one other MLB org. picked him up after his release. That should tell you something. Pretty sure he just joined an indy league.
  14. Angel is committed. I'm not sure how that isn't very obvious. Our 'Coach' buddy who posts here could attest to that and has. Paul, the answer is you don't move either. The only possible moves are Angel to the OF, Lucroy to 1B, and Lucroy to the OF. Not very appealing at all. Jonny is the better rated defender, has had positive results, and seems to possess the ideal catcher physique. No way the Brewers move him off C unless Salome really proves himself a worthy defender sometime in the coming months.
  15. The CC trade just keeps getting better and better for the Crew.
  16. Are we even disagreeing? I will say that Prince has more pull then you think. Fans remember his Dad. Fans remember the derby. And lastly, fans remember 50 homers.
  17. Well, TLB, if that's the only part of my post you disagree with, then I'm happy. I should say that the Red Sox are currently regarded as a top 3-4 team. Adding a 5 win bat would def. make them top 2 with NY. Maybe they aren't favored in the sense of Vegas odds, but they would put some distance between them and TB, probably making them a lock for the WC. Anything can happen from there I guess.
  18. Logan, I'm saying that if the Rangers/Red Sox/etc. Added Prince in a trade, they could naturally expect a revenue spike. Adding a dynamic hitter will tend to do that.
  19. Dennis is going to make it. You just know it. I wonder if that is pure author speculation regarding the bump to Huntsville? The bump to BC is very close. Just send Brock K. back to WI.
  20. The thing with Angel is he is only mediocre when he is injured. Every healthy year has been great. He rarely gets praise from scouts though, even when things are going good. And, his 2009 was disappointing, but it wasn't even that bad.
  21. I'm going to get Monty's back here. When, I think that the Red Sox could easily have Santana and Halladay instead of Dice-K and Lackey, it just cracks me up. They'd probably have another 2 rings each. But Clay Bucholz is untouchable. Or Casey Kelley. Or Lars. Or whoever. If I'm a big market team, I'd take the 26 year old slugger with solid contact AND OBP skills everytime. He also happens to have a half decade long track record for ML success. Being in a big market, I'd know that I can resign him if I want, and probably gain a leg-up because I had traded for him. I'd also know that I can spend big on the amatuer market and easily replace the talent, and that's all unproven minor leaguers are, that was lost through the trade. Who does Atlanta miss so bad from that Teixera trade? Salty is not a regular and McCann is above average to excellent for a C. Andrus and Y. Escobar are wash at best, but I would lean Escobar. Harrison couldn't crack that rotation. The only guy worth missing is Feliz, qnd that's understandable. He is a two pitch late inning relief pitcher though. Not a clear cut Cy Young favorite or anything. I get the whole cost argument, but I have a big market team, what do I care? My revenues aren't going up because I have a sweet AA team or a stacked minor league system. Prince's addition sparked a revenue spike. Where are those figures when determining the cost/win stuff?
  22. I just want to apologize to Marco. He was cruising until I opened my big mouth.
  23. Sickles (I think) looks pretty smart right now. He named Estrada as a 2010 sleeper. Pitching solid so far agin tonight. And, btw, Khris Davis also has 8 doubles this year.
  24. I think the Angels have a good one in their young CF'er, Mike Trout. Fast as a devil, he stole two bases tonight including HOME!
  25. Oh sheesh, that's weird. I hope everything is ok with the new babe. I did not realize he was put back on the list.
