  1. Rios for three of our five or six best prospects? No thanks. I could see Inman and Parra for Rios.
  2. Okay, how about a Dodgers trade... Mark Teixera Akinori Otsuka for James Loney Matt Kemp Chad Billingsley This would be a huge trade towards Texas' future.
  3. I would think the Yankees would pounce on that given the latest injuries and statements involving Giambi. I know Giambi is DH, but couldn't/wouldn't they do the same thing with Teix? What about the Astros making a move for him? Shift Berkman back to the outfield, and all of a sudden, no one wants to pitch to that team. Hardly anyone does right now. So what kind of package would the Yanks have to put out there? Melky Cabrera Jason Giambi Humberto Sanchez for Mark Teixera Brad Wilkerson or Nelson Cruz Looks good to me, and really, it would probably be best for the Rangers as well. Is Sanchez hurt? If he is, throw in Joba Chamberlein instead. As for the Astros: Luke Scott Brad Lidge Wandy Rodriguez Troy Patton for Mark Teixera Akinori Otsuka Just speculation, so speculate!
  4. For a Broxton trade, how about: Geoff Jenkins Jose Capellan Manny Parra for Broxton Wilson Betemit II don't think it would take Hall to get him.
  5. Its good to see Alcides progressing and performing well. I think he can at least play at the level Weeks is at now, and hopefully he can play at a higher level. I'm just scared that Weeks' next contract won't justify his production. He'll probably get paid mostly for what remaining potential he still has.
  6. Braves get: Inman Graffy Brewers get: Salty unimpressive bullpen arm
  7. Thanks for the video. He looks athletic enough to have a huge upside. I hope he puts it all together. What minor league team should he be playing for next year for everyone to be happy? I'm hoping he just advances one level.
  8. If we decide to trade Yo, this is what I think we could get: Nick Swisher Carl Crawford Kinsler and Otsuka Kotchman and Shields Ichiro Nick Markakis and Danys Baez Alex Rios J.D. Drew and Manny Delcarmen Jose Tabata and Melky Cabrera Craig Monroe and Rodney Cuddyer or Hunter Josh Fields and Jenks Billy Butler or Teahan and Dotel Cliff Lee or Travis Snider and Casey Blake Kelly Johnson and Jarod Saltamacchia (Spelling?) Carlos Gomez or Heilman and Shawn Green Tom Gordan and Shane Victorino Jeremy Hermida and Kevin Gregg Ryan Church and Chad Cordero Scott Linebrink and Mike Cameron Armando Benitiz, Pedro Feliz, and Randy Winn Carlos Quentin and Alberto Callaspo Matt Holliday Matt Kemp and Jonathon Broxton Brad Lidge, Chris Burke, and Luke Scott Felix Pie and Angel Guzman Andrew McClutchen and Solomon Torres Chris Duncan and Jason Isringhausen These are just what I think he is worth to the Brewers. Many of these teams wouldn't do these trades. I doubt the DM is even listening to any offers right now anyways. Also, some of these trades would have to include any one of Mench, Graffy, Latin Cappy, etc.
  9. A scout that wasn't that high on Yo said he was another Javier Vasquez. He also said that there was a wide gap between Yo and the group of Bailey, Hughes, Lincecum, and Andrew Miller as far as top pitching prospects go. If Vasquez is the low end of his projection, he will be a very good major league player, especially in the national league. Remember Vasquez with the Expos? He was sick that year, people thought he was a poor man's Pedro. I think I saw this on BA.
  10. You know, I was looking at all of the Brewers' first round picks over the years and I really think that this recent run of picks could compare well with that run at the begining of the franchise when they drafted Molitor, Yount, Thomas.
  11. Oh, thanks for that Brian, I didn't hear about that.
  12. Melky Cabrera is not a top prospect at all. I remeber when he came up how surprised people like Gammons and Kurkjian were that the Yankees were considering Melky for the big leagues. That being said, he has shown some pretty decent potential in his time in the majors. He would look nice as a defensive replacement.
  13. I like that deal a lot, but the Yankees won't.
  14. Would the Mets want to do this deal? When Alou is healthy, their outfield is stacked, so unless he plays second, there is no where to put him. I also think the Mets would keep any decent bullpen arms giving that there are still some questions about their rotation.
  15. I would probabley do Otsuka for Bush. I also think that is a trade the Rangers would have to consider. Here's an idea, Brewers Get: Otsuka H. Blalock Rangers Get: Bush J. Cappellan or Parra Gross or Graffy Blalock would become one of our primary pinch hitters and insurance in case Braun slows down. Otsuka would make our bullpen the best in baseball immediatley and he could take over for CoCo after this year.
  16. Wouldn't it make a lot of sense to try and aquire another strong bullpen arm by sending Vargas somewhere. I guess the first thing to think about is who is rather desperate for pitching. How about: Nationals Reds Rockies Rangers Orioles to name a few 'desperate' teams. Next, who could we get from these teams for Vargas Chad Cordero (talked about frequentley on this site) David Weathers (a return could be nice) Coffey (lots of talent) Otsuka (would love this, but it all depends on Gagne) Baez (pretty ridiculous contract) Jamie Walker (wouldn't be thrilled) Herges (dito) Out of that group, I like Otsuka the best. What about everyone else? Any other possibilities out there? LaTroy Hawkins (for the seventh inning, not bad) Carlos V. or YoGa could take the spot in the rotation, perhaps making our staff more dynamic.
  17. I now feel very ready for the draft, good job
  18. This make baseball sense, but not marketing sense. Fans love Billy, and that will never change no matter how bad he plays. Crawford would be pretty sweet though...
  19. Please don't trade him Doug. The guy knows a lot about baseball. Even better, he can play too.
  20. I would cry with joy if we somehow got Ichiro. His defense alone woud be welcome in the outfield. Too bad Seattle managment is in love with him.
  21. The top two kind of makeup for our lack of depth. I think those guys can take over two of the top three spots in the rotation by opening day 2009.
  22. All he is worth to Brewers right now is a bat or extra bullpen arm at the deadline. I would be very happy with that.
  23. I think he needs more time. If he still stinks at this time next year, I will start to worry.
  24. So we just traded a guy that has a decent chance to pitch in the bigs for some cash? I realize he was probabley out of options soon, but we couldn't get even some buy low type talent?
