  1. 18 K's for Strasburg is crazy. He is getting more attention than any previous draft prospect I can remember.
  2. 89-73 Macha is a huge upgrade.
  3. After Adenhardts not so great year, I would try: Adenhardt, Figgins/Wood , B level prospect for Fielder and Hall
  4. One recent draft pick who may join the next wave (gamel, escobar, etc.) is Rob Wooten. I really like that guy too.
  5. I love the talent in our system. My gut feeling on our young talent is: Possible Superstars Jeffress Escobar Lawrie X-time All-star Gamel Salome Aguilar Green (as a 2B) Odorizzi Above average LuCroy Gindle Pena Gillespie Dykstra Schaeffer Lintz Fredrickson Cain Average Komatsu Periard B. Wright Welch Errecart S. Wilson C. Adams Obviously, not all of these guys will pan out, but I am optimistic. I don't know, I like where we are at. I also would like to note that I discovered brewerfan.net because of a Google search for brewers top prospects about four or five years ago. Obviously, the power 50 popped up and I have been hooked ever since. I don't post that much, so I guess I kind of just lurk a lot (sorry), but the minor league coverage is excellent, and is the reason why I love this site.
  6. I can't help but think that Melvin missed out on this oppurtunity because all of the staff positions he had to worry about. Olsen is at least as good as Suppan and probably as good as Dave Bush. I would have sent Florida Hernan, Seidel, and Garciaparra in a second for that package.
  7. Outstanding! Born in 1983, could not be more proud of these dudes!
  8. Outstanding! Born in 1983, could not be more proud of these dudes!
  9. The Cubs won this trade, but I am now more pumped than ever for the rest of the season. What next? Cards pick up Holliday? You gotta love the fact that Chicago lost all of its top upper level prospects though. How long is Harden under Cubs control?
  10. actually, top 15 give away their 2nd rounder, and bottom 15 give up their 1st rounder.
  11. Randy Johnson was traded to the Astros at the deadline in 1999 i think. The deal was Johnson for John Halama, Carlos Guillen, and Freddy Garcia. What's a comparable deal involving Brewer prospects?
  12. I second for the Carter III
  13. Although he is more than deserving, I feel like we should keep the Huntsville boys (er, men!) together the rest of the season.
  14. http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3450245 Above is the link to Rick Reilly's story which includes a video link. It seems as though recently drafted 3B Ethan Martin was involved. This is just plain crazy. Anyone have any thoughts on this? By the way, I didn't really no where this topic belongs, so I just threw it onto the major league page.
  15. I have to say I agree with the last paragraph in the last post. For all the negative press Prince sometimes gets, he seems like he really enjoys what he does for a living.
  16. yea, this isn't a big deal at all. Braves are in it to win it.
  17. Maybe this would get it done: Hardy Fielder Bush for Reyes Heilman (make him a starter) Send them Nelson or TGJ if they need it. To me, this is pretty darn even, maybe slightly leaning in the brewers favor.
  18. Well done my man. I just really love Ryan.
  19. I'm surprised with some of the comments in this thread. Ichiro seems like the perfect fit for this team. All he does is hit, he is gold glove caliber at at least two OF positions, he steals bases, and those quotes from the first post are outstanding. If this was the offseason, I wonder if we could get him for Hardy, Gillespie, and filler. Slide Escobar in at SS next year. I doubt that's enough though. Of course, I doubt the first thing Seattle's new GM will do is trade Ichiro.
  20. Stevo, I have to disagree that Bay and Dunn deserve spots over him. Church doesn't measure up either. Braun's numbers are just plain better than both of those guys plus he plays for a better team.
  21. I'm going on Saturday and Sunday with a large contingent of non bf.net brewer fans. We need to take the dome over!
  22. So, will Lawrie be top five off the bat? I would guess, um...well, maybe.
  23. Someone call Christopher Walken and tell him to bring his sodering iron over to my place.
  24. I know there isn't any strand rate, GB/FB, etc., but these numbers are still impressive. This guy is for real. Edit: Shoot, those didn't post right. Main numbers of interest: 28 saves, 4 blown saves, about a strikeout per inning, and this year he has a .4 WHIP.
