  1. At least give Green some experience and opportunities the rest of the game. Roenicke didn't give the team/fans that consolation last night.
  2. We hear every series about how the Cards' have a susceptible pen, yet the Crew can't do much damage against them.
  3. He should be your 6th or even 5th batter right now.
  4. A little bit. He's had two terrible outings against the Cards with a chance to effectively kill their spirit.
  5. He's got like a .670 OPS since joining the Cards, which is better than Betancourt's. Plus, he's a vastly superior defender and baserunner. And we'd have more wins against the team we're battling in the division. We're more miserable because he isn't a Brewer.
  6. This is not surprising. Momentum is huge in sports and we lost some of it in the opening game with balls barely not clearing the fence and all the self imposed mistakes and then more of it when Braun stumbled away a surefire inside the parker and lead. This is a divisional race we are finding ourselves in.
  7. He's mad we valuated him lower than Betancourt. Edit: Sorry, that was supposed to be in response to the statement that Furcal is a Brewers' killer.
  8. Hot month or not, he'll have finished with a much worse .OPS than his previous two seasons, so if he were traded it'd be an example of a sell low. Best case scenario is they play the guy who probably gives them a best chance to win, Green, and then hold on to McGehee next season in hopes that he rediscovers his prior form soft platooning with Green and Gamel. If not, then he's merely an adequate bench player for the Crew.
  9. An event doesn't have to be unexpected for people to be pissed about it as it's happening. And Green actually should be compared to those players/situations after putting up two organizational minor league player of the year seasons when actually healthy and being proposed to replace players with negative WAR's. Even in McGehee's supposed hot month he could not eclipse Green's MLE OPS. He finished with just an .804 OPS and .660 outside the 3-HR game. And he put up a .666 OPS in July. The hype about McGehee's 2nd half resurgence has been largely propaganda from the franchise so as to take pressure off the veteran who they were going to conservatively ride. Well, the pressure should be on because he's been horrendous for nearly a full year now and it's about time both he and Betancourt are replaced in the lineup by Green and Hairston. McGehee and Betancourt should be the platoon players.
  10. Chris Traeger would say, "avrock and RoCo...it's lit-rilly a must win game"
  11. A lot of bad luck and a little bad play last night. A little bad luck and a lot of bad play tonight. Braun's base running errors, lack of defensive awareness, and giving up a homer to the pitcher have nothing to do with luck.
  12. If the defense would have done their job it would have been a solo home run instead of a grand slam. You're being short-sighted, again.
  13. The Brewers are on pace to get their asses swept at the hands of their division rivals by shooting themselves on the foot and the "voices of reason" are going to tell us to just accept it because the lead is insurmountable. I just don't buy it though. I've watched too many chokes to feel at ease with this.
  14. It's Murphy's Law the last couple of games for this team. What set that up was Braun jogging around first base, assuming it would just be a double. Then he had to overcompensate by sprinting and cutting corners.
  15. With how atrocious Yuni has been during this run and overall this season, it made more sense than swinging away. But if that's the case, you pinch hit for the guy. Either bring up Green or Counsell. But Roenicke has no common sense. Like I said, his foolishness was one of the biggest culprits tonight. He was not playing the percentages in most situations where it was even a question. He's a pretty terrible decision maker in spite of managing a team who is 9.5 up in a division.
  16. DFA Betancourt and call somebody up in his place. It's not too late. There's still 2 days until rosters expand.
  17. I'm sorry, but how is RR a bigger culprit than guys like Lucroy, Braun, Betancourt, Casey that are hit-less tonight?Well, he didn't pinch hit for one of the hitless players is one way. Others: bunting ahead of Braun and Prince again, Estrada instead of Saito, leaving Estrada out there for back to back lefties, etc. Braun and Lucroy have also been unlucky somewhat tonight. I'm not going to blame them for that.
  18. Whew, I thought he had a better chance at getting the out at 1st. If it gets to Betancourt, Roenicke better have Green ready or it's another screw-up for him tonight.
  19. Biggest culprits if we lose tonight, in order: 1. Luck 2. Prince Fielder 3. Ron Roenicke 4. Yuniesky Betancourt 5. Casey McGehee
  20. The Brewers just aren't getting breaks tonight, in addition to shooting themselves in the foot. On another night we have a few homers and a double down the line there by Lucroy.
  21. The bottom half of this inning would be a smart time to pinch hit Green. Betancourt is leading off and has 1 walk in about 100 PA's this season and has been wretched at the plate. He's not the guy you want leading a comeback, usually.
  22. Marcum has to fix his location issues otherwise he's going to get burned eventually. I would have guessed this kid was named Taylor and the other Jed, from listening to them. Are we in another body switch movie?
