  1. I've seen this before, and if you click on the year it will give you a prompt to change the year. It's just not obvious that you can do that.
  2. Watching it again this morning, and Gard's hand was on Howard's elbow for literally a half of a second. Timed it three times - exactly a half of a second. The narrative that he "grabbed" or physically restrained Howard in any way needs to stop.
  3. Is it really worth taking your time for $2 items? I'd just donate them and use it as a tax write-off. I contacted a place that takes used computers/equipment and donates them to needy families/schools/shelters, but they wanted me to mail it to them at my expense and then write off the cost of postage. There's another place here, but limited hours and not nearby. And if I'm selling it at such a low price, aren't I helping someone else by essentially giving it to them?
  4. Gard puts his hand on Howard's elbow, Howard grabs a fistful of Gard's shirt. Yet Gard is the one who is "physically detaining" Howard? Consider this - if Gard lets Howard blow by, what's Howard going to say/do to the rest of Gard's staff and players as he goes through the line? Do you, as the head coach, let that happen?
  5. No, that was Howard shouting the f-word at Gard. Physically detaining a guy who is foot taller than you? Really?
  6. Their remaining schedule is red-hot Rutgers, Illinois, Michigan State, Iowa, and Ohio State (and they had a game against Purdue postponed), all of whom have a better or equal conference record. NIT might be a best-case scenario, especially when Diabate, Williams, Houstan, and maybe others get suspended for multiple games.
  7. This is not true. Howard didn't even get in line to shake hands initially - he waited, and the announcers saw that and commented on that. Then when Howard approached Gard, and Howard dropped his mask and said, "I'll remember that ****[/url]", and you can see on the video Howard dropping his mask as he approaches Gard. That's when Gard reacted and stopped him, according to Gard to try to explain why he did what he did. Gard didn't stop Howard because he passed him or disrespected him - Howard started it by swearing at Gard first. Proof:
  8. I understand this POV but I also guarantee you that Tom Izzo, Bo Ryan, and many a coach would have done or have done the exact same thing. I've seen coaches not happy with each other stop each other in line to talk before - that's not unprecedented. Grabbing someone by the shirt, much less taking a swing, is not something I've ever seen. What Bobby Knight would have done I would have paid money to see...
  9. Is Craigslist no longer the place to go to sell relatively small used items cheap? I've had a 5-year-old working cable modem w/wi-fi router on there for 3 weeks for $2 and only one inquiry. Same w/a clay pottery kit that retails for $65.
  10. Actually, yeah, I grew up with someone who was a competitive speed skater with Olympic aspirations. And she worked/trained way harder than the other best athlete at our school who ended up having a successful pro sports career. That makes one of us, and I've lived in 11 different cities in 7 different states in three different time zones including NY, LA, and Chicago. I've met a helluva lot of people. As for your second point, that is my point - natural talent for a sport is more important than how hard you train.
  11. It's not the final year of the contract - they tacked on a voidable year for 2023 with a $25M base salary and $500K workout bonus.
  12. She was an elite athlete and skater long before she ever tried speedskating - she won gold in the 500m inline skating race at the 2008–09 Junior World Championships and at the 2014 Pan AM games. She wasn't just some random person who picked up skating on a whim.
  13. If you're good enough to be drafted in baseball, you're elite. There's just a lot more competition in baseball than speedskating to get to the highest level. If even 1/100th of as many people competed in speedskating as baseball I would agree with you. But I'd be shocked if there were more competitive speedskaters than Major League baseball players. Think about it - do you know anyone who ever competed in speedskating? Probably not.
  14. Not that surprising. It's a sport that's not very accessible so limited competition. And I've always felt that if someone is going to be elite in a sport, they're going to be elite within 2-3 years of picking up the sport. Think of Lo Cain - didn't start playing baseball until a sophomore in HS, and is good enough to get drafted three years later. You're not going to find an elite pro athlete who was an average person at that sport for years (while Michael Jordan didn't make the varsity team as a sophomore in HS, few sophomores do - he was still pretty darn good for a sophomore).
  15. Yea that was pretty bad. They could take a 20-point beat down in Rutgers in a week. Rutgers shot 58% from 3 and 89% from the line; their season averages are 34% and 71%. They should have made three less 3-point shots and three less FTs which was more than the difference in the game.
  16. State Street Brats will ship brats nationwide. You can order their famous red brats, which sound like they may play nicely off of the BrightLeaf hot dogs.
  17. I paid $500 for a lifetime Sirius subscription 20 years ago. I have to pay a fee when I transfer it to a new vehicle, but I get it in my vehicle and via the app. Back when I was in sales and spending a lot of time in a vehicle driving all over it was worth every penny and then some.
  18. Mancuso's tiara was a good luck charm that her coach gave her. It's amazing what she was able to do between hip dysplasia, a bone spur (which, once it was removed, launched her greatest period of success), and back problems. And then the snafu in Vancouver when they started her before Vonn finished her run and Vonn crashed, causing Mancuso to stop her run halfway.
  19. He actually died in St. Louis. Had a .775 OPS and scored three runs against the Brewers in the 1982 World Series. He got his revenge for being traded away.
  20. Accurate. I often make the joke to my friends, 'We should open a bar'. Then realize, that would come with other stressers. Yep. At my current job there is very, very little chance that I will be robbed, stabbed, or shot. Considering that I've been working from home for the last two years and live on the fourth floor of a non-elevator building (criminals are not going to climb 56 steps to rob someone), unless I slip with a knife in my hand the chances of any of those three happening are pretty much nil.
  21. They did. The mountain only gets about a foot of snow a year. And they knew this back in 2015: https://snowbrains.com/2022-beijing-olympic-mountain-venues-average-2-snow-depth-in-winter/
  22. Teams have been loading an additional blocker to one side of the line for several years now, especially if they think that they are susceptible to a block from one side. Typically this happens when they are towards one of the hashmarks.
  23. He's been pressing a while now. His 2-pt % the last seven games: 18%, 29%, 54%, 46%, 38%, 40%, 23%. And he's 1-9 from 3 in his last four games.
  24. The part of your quote that I bolded is not what you have been saying. The question was about trading Rodgers to clear cap space for tagging Adams, not trading Adams. You said so yourself: adambr2 said: Again, they can't use a Rodgers trade as a mechanism to free up space for an Adams tag because the space for the Adams tag must be available BEFORE Rodgers is traded. Yes, they have to have the cap space on March 16th at 3pm in order to tag and trade Adams. But you were talking about trading Rodgers to free up space to tag Adams, which they absolutely can do. The Saints and Rams did it last year to get under the cap. In the article you linked, Rodgers literally said that he's deciding on his future in February so that Adams doesn't get tagged: "One decision that will be upcoming will be obviously Davante and his future with the team," Rodgers said. "There still is this thing called a franchise tag, which I don't think '17' [Adams] wants."
  25. The franchise tag is for their 2022 salary which isn't effective until 3pm March 16th. The reason that Rodgers is deciding before March 8th is so that Adams can negotiate a longer/more guaranteed $ deal than a one-year franchise tag. He's doing it so that Adams doesn't get tagged on a one-year deal, not because he has to in order to tag Adams. The article you linked says nothing that supports your stance.
