  1. MLB Pipeline currently has Campbell at #34. From their scouting profile: Hitters just don't seem to see the ball well against Campbell, who has a 6-foot-7 frame and deceptive mechanics with an unusual approach angle. His fastball sits around 91 mph and touches 96, and it features high spin rates and running action that generate a lot of harmless contact. He has a pair of solid secondary pitches that he'll use against both left-handers and right-handers: an upper-70s changeup with even more horizonal movement than his heater and a mid-70s curveball that creates a lot of empty swings and groundouts. Not seeing the ball well... deceptive mechanics... high spin rates... a lot of harmless contact... solid changeup... sounds a lot like the Brewers type of pitching prospect. On the season in 94 IP Campbell has given up 73 hits, walked 23 (2.2/9 IP) and K'd 133 (12.7/9) for a Power-5 Oklahoma State. I would not at all be upset with him as the pick at #27.
  2. Kind of odd that File was used in a relief role for one inning.
  3. https://www.mlb.com/news/featured/mlb-philly-cheesesteak-eating-contest A good read on the background of the competition, a bit of a surprise as to where they get the cheesesteaks, and of course, special nods to Marcus Hanel and Corey Hart.
  4. The Reds hung a 20-spot on the Cubs yesterday. That never gets old.
  5. Took 2 of 3 on the road from the Padres with no Adames, Hader, or for the most part, Renfroe.
  6. With a few extra: E. Small J. Wiemer B. Turang G. Mitchell S. Frelick T. Black F. Valerio J. Chourio A. Kelly J. Quero E. Garcia D. Miller D. File St. Cruz H. Mendez R. Smith H. Perez V. Castaneda M. Feliciano M. Lazar Next 5: J. Gray E. W. Martinez Z. Warren A. Uribe M. Sanchez
  7. How many of those jackasses pulling the emergency exit slide on the tarmac are live-streaming it on social media?
  8. 1) Anheuser-Busch brewery tour 2) (see #1) 3) Venice Cafe as long as you're by the brewery 4) Bogart's Smokehouse for lunch (get there early) 5) Social Bar & Grill/Social House Soulard for drinks (just trust me on this one...)
  9. Good thing the 40-man is only at 37. Gonna need to add a few bodies.
  10. I'm not sure why this is not as obvious to some others here as it is to you and I. Especially the "coming off of a PED suspension" part - there is a lot of risk as to what his actual performance is and will be post-PED suspension. And I'm not sure what an "elite" prospect is. We have a 22-year-old LHH SS at AAA who is 4.5 years younger than league average and has a ~.750 OPS. We also have 25-year-old LHSP who is striking out almost 13/9ip in AAA. Lots of guys on these top-100 prospect lists haven't made the jump to AA yet, and thus their value has to be discounted for development risk. Not so with the two aforementioned prospects, and on top of that they play perhaps the two most valuable positions on the diamond.
  11. Hell, just the last page was priceless
  12. Given the typical political bickering and budget bumbling and time it takes to get things done, the answer is yes.

  14. Looks like Google has taken some steps to address and no longer collects some of this data: https://9to5google.com/2022/03/22/google-phone-messages-privacy-research-call-text-records/ https://www.theregister.com/2022/03/21/google_messages_gdpr/ I've had no major issues with xFinity Mobile, and I get internet + mobile service for a combined total of <$100/mo. But my company changed their cell/internet reimbursement policy, and with my internet and mobile billed separately at $79 and $18 respectively, I can only get $50/mo reimbursed for internet and $70/mo for cell. Thus I'm looking to uncouple my internet and mobile where I can get internet for under $50 (easy) but the question is getting mobile + new phone for under $70. The other option I'm looking at is T-Moble that has an individual plan for $45/mo plus taxes/fees. Google Fi is interesting because other than xFinity it's the only one I can find that charges for data by the Gb; I'm rarely not on WiFi and rarely watch video on my phone, and maybe once a year when I'm traveling will I go over 1Gb data in a month. I can also use a messaging app other than Google; not sure if there are other phone dialer apps.
  15. One of my best friends works for BB7. If you're interested, send me a PM and I can connect you.
  16. Does anyone use Google Fi? If so, what has been your experience? Any privacy concerns I should be aware of with Google owning the device and having access to your call history?
  17. Methinks they're creating cap space to either sign or trade for someone midway through the season in case of injuries. Julio Jones may still be unsigned several games into the season.
  18. You can say the same thing about Chicago.
  19. Let's put it another way - if the Celtics were missing Jalen Brown, do they win the series? If the Bucks had Middleton, do they win game 5? That's all it would have taken to win the series.
  20. There's a chance I may be able to watch every game. They never play the Bears at the same time on the same network. There are a two instances where the Packers have the 3:25PM game after a Bears game at noon, which may not get shown if the Bears aren't the national game. But I should be able to watch 15 of the 17 games.
  21. I have xFinity/Comcast, and if you're an internet customer you can get this little streaming box that has many of the streaming service apps. They include free acceess to Peacock Premium, so I got to watch Wrestlemania for free. I've started watching Nitro in 1996 and have just gotten to the Bash at the Beach where Hogan turned (but I've been skipping through most of the matches, except for ones involving John Tenta and the Disco Inferno).
  22. Agree with Zurch. I'm not an engineer, but the job I've had the last 15 months consists of responsibilities and skills that I've done in bits and pieces throughout my career but never all at the same time and some of them I hadn't done in ten years. I took a shot at it because I thought the list of people who have market research, sales, CRM data/reports/dashboards, and people management experience is a short list to begin with, much less finding one who wants to live in a non-major-market. What I think put me over is that in a presentation they asked me to describe myself and what I would bring to the team and I showed an image of a Swiss Army Knife; I said that if you need the best Philips screwdriver that's not going to be me, but if you need a Philips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, paring knife, bottle opener, and tweezers all in one person I'm it. They offered me within 48 hours after the interview and more salary than what the recruiter told me they were looking to pay. Bill Belicheck supposedly says, "Don't tell me what a guy can't do - tell me what he can do." You may not be able to do everything in a job description, but focus on what you can do and show how you have learned new skills.
  23. The roof of our building has needed to be replaced for three years. I tried to get it proactively done three years ago after major issues with the north half of the building but a couple of the owners had one foot out the door and declined to approve it, trying to get out before any further assessment. The other three units turned over the last year and a half and the new owners agreed to replace the roof. Well, because it should have been done three years ago there was extra water damage that needed to be repaired. The spring weather didn't cooperate and we had to wait until last week. The roofer showed up last week Monday; I didn't think they were going to start until later in the week because of heavy rain expected Tuesday morning. They assured me they'd have it done, sealed, covered, and wouldn't be a problem. Well, Tuesday morning come 7am I'm putting out buckets, bowls, and towels and can hear water running down walls in both of my bedrooms. They didn't seal it up properly. The water caused three levels of damage in the building. Finally on Saturday they finished it. They removed a couple of satellite dishes... but cut the wrong cable, the one bringing internet into my unit. I had water remediation in my unit cutting out walls & ceiling on Thursday and running industrial dehumidifiers and fans in both bedrooms Thurs through Monday. Had to empty my walk-in closet and put everything in my living room including my mattress and sleep on the living room floor (with silicone ear plugs because of the fans & dehumidifiers). This is the third time in five years I've had to rip apart my unit due to water damage because of someone else's negligence. In order to do the roof we had to disconnect and move the A/C units. Just in time for record heat this week, and they couldn't be reinstalled until this morning because when everyone saw mid-80's for temperatures they called the HVAC company to get their A/C connected. I'm the penthouse unit so I had it the warmest and decided to leave Monday night and return this morning. When they reconnected the A/C units today, one of the unit's (who has an old A/C unit and uses the coolant that is no longer allowed) A/C wasn't working. It took 3-4 hours to cool my unit down to 74 degrees. The insurance adjuster can't come until tomorrow, my interior guy hasn't responded to come over yet, I can't use my main bedroom until it's done. One of the units in the building is under contract and their attorney is demanding final invoices for the roof repair, but the roofer keeps asking for invoices on the water damage. I'm the one managing the contractors for both because I'm the penthouse unit and the de-facto HOA president. I'm struggling to thing of anything else that could go wrong. (Tomorrow the masonry company is coming to repair some blown out glass blocks in my windows...)
  24. I find it funny that for all of the squawking about drafting a TE, they brought in more tryout long snappers than drafted, undrafted, and tryout TEs combined. They like their TE room a lot.
