  1. I wish there was a way to get fiber but not have to drill a hole in your wall. I rent, so I'm stuck with either cable (pre-wired) or 5G cellular (and living in a densely populated area, cellular probably isn't going to be very reliable for higher speeds).
  2. This is a cognitive bias known as "availability bias" where people perceive things that are very catastrophic or things that they are very fearful of as happening more frequently than they really do. It's like shark attacks. They rarely happen*, but it's something people are deeply fearful of so even rare instances trigger over-concerns. (*It happened to a friend of mine. Got munched by a shark while surfing. He survived but you can see the teeth scars all over his torso in the outline of the shark's mouth. Some other surfers came to his rescue and started beating on the shark, getting him to let go and swim away.)
  3. Not with his son coming in as a recruit. I'm sure his kid(s) already have to deal with more of this than they should.
  4. I think there's a significant dropoff after the 2nd round. There almost always is with edge rushers. If they draft an edge, I think it's either day 2 or wait until round 7. There are a couple of guys (spoiler alert) who I think make for interesting picks in round 6/7. The benefit of round 6/7 picks is that there's a chance you can sneak them on to the practice squad during the season if they need a body there for a few weeks until Parsons is ready. Mikail Kamara is one of those guys. He had big production in 2024; sacks had a big dropoff in 2025 (went from 10 to 2), but there wasn't a big dropoff in pressures (69 in 2024 to 58 in 2025), and the Packers definitely take pressures into consideration. Kamara wasn't invited to the combine, is listed at 6'1" (which in reality means maybe 6'0"), and is already over 24 years old, so there's a good chance he's there in the 6th/7th. But he also played special teams and blocked the punt in the national championship game.
  5. So maybe they can win with Hauser...
  6. Why do you say "based on visits"? GB did not bring in their top overall pick for a visit in 2019 (Gary), 2022 (Q. Walker), 2023 (LVN), or 2024 (Morgan) (no in-person visits in 2020 or 2021; they had a video call with Jordan Love but not Stokes). Most telling is 2019, 2022 and 2023 because those were the highest picks and thus the most likely that those guys would be available when they were picking. What that tells me is that if there's a guy they really want, they keep it under wraps and don't bring him in. There are exceptions to that rule (Jordan Love most likely), and maybe those guys weren't their top choice but blow them away during the visit/video call, but to not bring in their highest picks is most telling. The guys they bring in who are likely early picks tend to be guys with medical questions or behavioral/character/intelligence questions. Based on his history, the rest are likely backup plans in case the guys they really want aren't available. The Packers did attend Orange's private workout on Tuesday, FWIW.
  7. China also has had significantly worse air pollution in major cities than big cities in the US.
  8. At the age of 80. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/48431732/dodgers-great-davey-lopes-four-all-star-dies-80
  9. Add Georgia Tech DT Jordan van den Berg to the list. Was considered a late 7th/UDFA, but then he absolutely nuked his pro day. 6'3", 310, ran a 4.94 with a 36" vertical, 4.17 short shuttle, and 35 reps on the bench. Good for a perfect 10.00 RAS - #2 all-time of 2,270 DTs.
  10. Willson is 2nd among active players in HBP. If the Brewers had never hit him in his career he would still be 6th, one behind Trout despite having 40% fewer plate appearances than Trout. Freddie Freeman is 4th with more than double the number of plate appearances as Willson. It's you, Willson.
  11. His pants were on fire. Because he's a LIAR.
  12. Sign Seth McClung for a day? Can he still hit 95?
  13. Still have two more games. Save it for if they're down 3 instead of up 3 in the 9th.
  14. Bauers just a bit short of being able to tell Willson exactly who the h*** he is.
  15. Basketball is not my favorite sport to begin with, but this is why I don't get upset about UW getting upset in the NCAA tournament anymore. I'll root for them, but if they lose, I don't care anymore.
  16. I think it's to free up space for some extensions. Those signing bonuses will partially count towards the 2026 cap if they are signed before the end of the 2026 season.
  17. And boom goes the dynamite.
  18. One thing we have to keep in mind is that the top kids start getting recruited when they are sophomores (QBs often earlier). It's two years before they commit. For the class of '23 (signed December 2022) and '24 (signed December 2023) he had already developed relationships with non-WI kids and was trying to play catch-up with WI kids that the prior regime didn't develop relationships with. For '25 he got a bunch of WI kids. Flanagan and Strebig are Catholic kids who went to Catholic HS and when ND comes calling... that's a really tough battle to win. Poteat wasn't coming to UW because they fired his father. But he got Roeske, Dean, Catalano, Pettaway, and Bork. So this narrative that he hasn't been recruiting WI kids until now is false. He got just about everybody he realistically could get for '25, and for '26 the talent level was poor and got 1 of the 2 he wanted.
  19. Yep. Last year there were two they really wanted. One they got (Ben Wenzel, LB), one they did not (Gavin Meier, OL). The WRs and OLs they had - up until close to signing day - were rated higher on most if not all services than the WR and OL kids from Wisconsin they didn't go hard after. Also, raising the scholarship limit to 105 helps. They can take a bigger class, and some kids they may not have had room for in the past and hoped they walked on they now have a few extra scholarships for.
  20. And boom goes the dynamite.
  21. SiriusXM has a channel for the Brewers radio. I can work and listen to the game at the same time. Just have to make sure that if I'm in a meeting I have it on mute.
  22. So he was holding players accountable and getting in their face when they screwed up?
