Last year PCA had a .286 OBP and was nicknamed Pete Crow-Groundout. Young players usually aren't good instantly. Often takes a season or two. -
Agree in principle. I just don't think that competing teams are going to want to part with a slugger who is ML-ready at the deadline; I think most teams would want to keep that player in case of injury or to have as a bench bat in the playoffs. Most likely, teams would be willing to give up players who are at least a year away from being ML-ready at the deadline, and more willing to give up ML-ready players in the offseason. I'm sure there are exceptions, I'm just generally speaking.

The AirBnB "Experiences" commercial. Am I the only one who thinks that essentially cartoon characters (i.e. generative AI-created videos) do not inspire me to do anything? If you're advertising "experiences", then you need to make that advertisement as real, life-like, and vivid as possible so that people can visualize themselves doing that experience.

What we haven't seen yet this season that has been employed over the past several seasons is an occasional 6-man rotation to give starters a little more rest. I've been wondering if the relatively early hooks have been on purpose as an alternative to the 6-man rotation to minimize stress on the starters while balancing the need for an additional arm in the bullpen, given that the starting staff doesn't have the horses they've had in the past (such as Burnes, a healthy Woodruff, etc.).

While trading Peralta at the deadline gives a little more value to the receiving team (1.3 years, NOT 1.5), waiting until the offseason puts more teams in play and more options of who the Brewers can get for him. The offseason could allow the Brewers to get a MLB-ready player that a competing team might want to keep for depth or need to replace an injured player for the playoffs who they might be willing to give up in the offseason. Unless it's a big overpay, I don't see the Brewers dealing Peralta until the offseason when they can make other moves with the collective transactions putting them back in a place to compete if not in 2026 then in 2027.

1) Hoskins isn't a free agent. He has a mutual option for 2026. Hoskins is 8th in MLB among primary 1B in wRC+; he will bring something "decent". B) Starting pitching always brings something at the deadline. The question with Cortes is if he will be ready in time to show teams that he's healthy.

The Brewers generally don't let assets expire. They'll likely sell the players who for sure are going to be a free agent (Civale, Cortes if he gets healthy in time). If Hoskins keeps up an .850 OPS pace he will for sure decline his 2026 option and thus the Brewers will likely sell on him. Quintana probably given his age risk, although he would likely accept his 2026 option because one year and $15M is about as good as he will do as a FA at his age. They have the SP depth to sell off Civale, Cortes, and Quintana (Peralta, Patrick, Henderson, Priester, Woodruff, Myers, Rodriguez, maybe Mis depending on his innings limit for this year) even if they are in contention for a playoff spot. If in contention, they could flip Civale or Cortes for a 1B if they trade Hoskins.

Until Quintana, Woodruff, Hall, Cortes, and Gasser come back off of the IL, your choices are: Alexander Elvin Rodriguez Easton McGee Elvis Peguero Bryan Hudson Craig Yoho Tobias Myers Take your pick of which walk or hit machine should occupy that bullpen spot.

Actually, they do have that stat - I just had to scroll over a little more. Under "Advances" in the link, sort by % (PAs with less than 2 out, runner on 3rd, runner scored). Brewers are 6th to last.
